Huberdeau Continues to Evolve His Game
And I loved seeing Jonathan Hubo jump in to defend him. It is a testament to the growth that Jonathan Hubedo has uh has gone through over his four seasons here. I don’t know if Hubbero would have been as willing to do that three or four seasons ago. And it spoke to me a lot that he was just reared and ready to go after Miko ran in the second that that happened. I don’t know if there’s a single player on the Flames who has done more, at least to me, to to elicit respect over the last couple seasons, Jonathan Hubo. I think he has shown to me a lot that even though he’s in a situation that he would have every right, in my opinion, to not be super happy with, uh, he’s he’s done what he needs to do to be a differencemaker in various different ways. And I think if you put him on a better team, maybe making a salary that’s more in line with what you would expect, that’s a player that a lot of teams would love to have. And I I don’t think I don’t ascribe to the notion that Florida won the cup because they got rid of Hubo. I ascribe to the notion that they won the cup because they got Matthew Kachchuck. But I think, you know, if you put Hubedo back on that Florida team, I think they’d be significantly more formidable than they are right now. So, uh, I think he’s a heck of a player and I think he’s done a great job, in my opinion at least, of sort of reshaping his game over the last couple of seasons.
