Mike Borgonzi Pulled Off HIGHWAY ROBBERY With These Two Tennessee Titans 2025 NFL Draft Picks

It’s overreaction Monday, ladies and gentlemen. And the Titans may be one and 10 in the NFL. The worst record in the league, the first team to go to 10 losses on the year, but there are some positives and they got two big steals in the 2025 NFL draft. Welcome into Titans Today by Chat Sports. I am your host Brett Alper. Who are those two players where Mike Borgani pulled off Highway Robbery after seeing their performance against the Seahawks yesterday? Well, we’ll get into that in a second, but uh big shout out to Cam Ward. He has been progressing tremendously throughout the first couple of weeks of the season. It looked bad to start. They he had an under 50 completion percentage and you could see right there 450 passing in the last two games, 70 yards rushing, 65% completion percentage, nine touchdowns, zero or five touchdowns and zero interceptions. He’s getting better and he’s getting better. And this video is about steals of the draft. Well, I’m not going to call Cam Ward a steal of the draft. He’s progressing and looking very solid. But, I mean, he’s a first overall pick. You picked him one. It wasn’t a steal. He was sitting there right in your lap and you got him and it’s showing that he could be a franchise QB. So, not calling him a steal. We’ll get to the other guys that are later in the draft. But before we do that, we are 18 subs away from our goal, ladies and gentlemen, from 11,500. I know 18 of you that are watching have not hit that sub button just yet. All right, let’s get to the draft steels. And the first one, this dude has been impressing me nonstop. And it’s Jir DK, the wide receiver, punt returner, kick return specialist. He has been outstanding. And on the field, he’s starting to get more reps at wide receiver. But throughout the first couple of weeks, it was just him at punt return. But his connection with Cam Ward has been tremendous throughout the later parts of the season. And you got him not in the first round, second round, you got him in the fourth round. Coming out of Florida, everybody kind of clowned the Titans for this pick since you drafted Ela Manor. You also drafted a couple of other guys and it was just like, well, why did you draft this guy when you literally just drafted a wide receiver? Well, because he’s super quick and he’s starting to look even better than Ela Manor throughout the last couple of games. 28 receptions on the year, 252 yards, two touchdowns, nine nine yards per catch. But the one thing about him is just his speed. He can take the top off the defense at any single point of the season. Any single point of the game, I should say. If he’s going deep, Cam Ward is going to find him and get him downfield. You don’t have Calvin Ridley for the rest of the year. So DK has become one of Cam Ward’s favorite targets, and you’re starting to see more and more his yards increase. There’s a couple games where he had 70 yards receiving backtoback and averaging like 17 yards per catch. But the one thing about Jamir DK is yeah, he’s a good wide receiver, but the one thing that just he excels at more than anything, and it’s not just the one part of his game on offense, it’s the return game because every time he is in the back field either returning a kick or returning a punt, he is unstoppable. The return stats this season are one of the best in the league. punt return yards 285. kick return yards is at 1,26 and he also to add on top of that he has two touchdowns and let’s not talk about let’s all of them that got pulled back and I looked at some of the stats and this is comes from Wes Wisley who’s on Twitter he’s a good follow comes up with all the stats allpurpose yards that includes kick returns punt returns uh rushing yards receiving yards passing yards DK leads the entire NFL in allp purpose yards by a wide margin 1760 and he is on pace for 2720 allpurpose yards which become the all-time record in a season. He needs 936 to pass Darren Sprouls who had 2696 with the Saints during the 2011 season. And I’ll make note he should have even more yards because there were multiple times where he would break free on a punt return and guess what? holding receiving team called back. Illegal block in the back receiving team and it gets called back. Two punt return touchdowns have been called back by BS calls. So, he should have even more, but I’m expecting him throughout the rest of the year. You’re 10 and one right now. You got or two and uh one and 10 right now. You got six games left. He can easily pass that line for 2696. I hope he does. and uh a after seeing him throughout the season on special teams. I don’t think there’s a better special teams returner in the NFL. As a rookie, I think he should make an allpro team. He’s just that good. And I know the Titans are the worst team in the NFL. But if it wasn’t for him, well, you might be looking even worse. I do want to see him more in the passing game, though. it. I think we will with the uh injury to Ela Manor, but you don’t see him that much. And it did not take it took pretty much seven to eight weeks to get him to finally play because Brian Callahan just was not doing it, which I don’t understand. The second we saw Mike McCoy become head coach, interim head coach, DK immediately got more involved in the offense, which was the smartest thing that you could possibly do. And it’s helping Cam Ward progress as a quarterback. So, I’ll ask you guys. Should DK make an allp pro team? You let me know down in the comments section. Give me a Y for yes or give me an N for no. I’m going with my wise because he obviously should be on that special team side as an allp pro. Coming up next, we got the other steel and it’s sticking with the offense. Mike Borgansi did a really good job drafting offense with El Manor. Hint hint, it’s not him, but we’ll get into that in a second. Like I said, sticking on the offense, the next guy that I think is even bigger, especially he’s going to have a bigger impact, that’s tight end Gunnar Helm. And we have seen him, just like Cam Ward, progress as a rookie from week one all the way into week 12 of the NFL season. And like DK, you got him in the fourth round. And I don’t understand truly how he fell back at Texas. He was one of Quinton Uer’s number one targets. He had like 60 catches and he fell all the way to the back and Mike Burgonzi jumped on that opportunity and he has been one of the best tight ends that we have seen so far for the Tennessee Titans. I mean his stats throughout the 2025 season have gotten better and we got to remember that Chickquo is the tight end one for now. Three reception 30 receptions, 267 yards, one touchdown and nine yards per catch. Gunner Helm is getting better and better and better. And we have to make note that like I said, Chika Conqua was the starting tight end at the beginning of the season. And so far throughout the last couple of weeks, we have seen Gunnar Helm’s uh snaps increase and increase and increase and to the point where last week he had 47 or yesterday he had 47. And uh he’s becoming that tight end number one over Chick. The first four weeks of the season, we saw only 23 average snaps from him a game. While the last four weeks, for weeks eight until week 12, you had 35.75 average snaps. You could see that is almost 12 more from the beginning of the season. They’re starting to trust him more. They’re starting to kind of put him more involved in the offense. And we really saw it against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. This was kind of his breakout game. Seven targets, six receptions, 51 yards. He was all over the place. Cam Ward was finding him at any point in the football game. And you also had one hell of a play, one hell of a highlight from Gunnar Helm. It’s fourth and 21. They didn’t get it. But he hurdled a man. He jumped straight over him. And that’s a tight end doing that. I bet you Chica Conqual couldn’t do that. It’s incredible to see his athleticism. And I think that the Titans really got a special player in Gunner Helm. And you also, when you look at the PFF stats, out of all the tight ends, 38 ranked tight ends in the NFL, he’s got a PFF grade of 72.7, which is 12th out of all of them. He’s only a rookie. So, what does that mean? Well, this is the worst he’s probably going to be, barring a serious injury. Knock on wood, nothing happens. But, he’s going to get better and better and better and better and be one of a top tight end in the NFL. They got an absolute steal with Gunnar Helm. And I still don’t understand how he fell to the fourth round. If you want these rookies to succeed, if you want all of them to succeed, we didn’t talk about Femiola Dejo. We didn’t talk about Kevin Winston Jr. We talked a little bit about Cam Ward. But if you want them all to succeed, go ahead, hit that thumbs up icon.
