Elliotte Friedman Drops Late Night Canucks Trade Update!

Oh boy, this is a good one. Elliot Freriedman just completely out of nowhere like Randy Orton in an RKO just came out with an article on the Vancouver Conucks and talking about some of the most latest rumors and just dropped it right now and we’re going to talk about it and cover it because it’s real interesting news. Pretty big news here. So stay tuned right now. According to several sources, the Vancouver Conucks have let it be known that in an effort to get younger, they are willing to listen to offers on veteran players. The obvious question is, does this mean Quinn Hughes? I’m told the answer is no at this time. Real important, they’ve made it clear that trading him is not their priority right now. One executive said Heronic is another player teams feel is unlikely to go anywhere. And remember, Heronic’s been playing unbelievable as well. And Quinn Hughes has been literally trying to do everything by himself. It’s unbelievable. Let’s see what else. What it does appear to mean is potential UFAS and potentially a player or two with term, but the Canucks have indicated they do not desire to tear it right down to the studs. Okay, this action is noteworthy because of Jim Rutherford’s track record historically. Once he decides to act, not wait, his resume is full of moves consummated well before the trade deadline, like the Zidorov trade, like the Lynholm trade. Now, he and GM Patrick Alvine want to know what could be available to him. So, let’s go over this real quick. Brock Besser, most likely small chance he’s not getting moved. He just signed long-term heart and soul guy. I don’t think that’s possible. Jake de Brusk. There’s an interesting name that not a lot of people are talking about. He’s more of a power play specialist. He’s been pretty good this year, but is he a guy you would get rid of? I think he has four to five more years left on his deal. It it is curious to see what he could get on that market. Thatcher Demco, he has a ton of injuries. just signed a new contract. Is he a potential person who maybe maybe the Edmonton Oilers, if they can figure out some cap, maybe they would be interested in them. It would be painful to see Demco in a Oilers uniform, but it’s a huge gamble for another team to get an injured goalie like Demco. But again, he’s not that old. If we’re talking about real veterans, Forbert’s a veteran, but he’s hurt pretty much all year this year. But he’s one of the best penalty killers in the year. He’s not going to get you that much. How about a guy like Connor Garland? His name has been in the rumor mill now for a little bit because they’re looking for that second line center. They’ve talked about it and this is a guy they’re apparently dangling to get. Now, would you would I go and want to trade a guy like Garland? Of course not. Teams like Florida and Carolina would badly want a guy like Garland. The guy’s a dog. He’s having a great season. He’s awesome. You got to have some of those guys for the long term as well. You can’t just trade all your dogs on the on the team. You know what I mean? Another guy is a Vander Kane. He hasn’t really worked out in Vancouver. He looks slow. He’s taken a lot of stupid penalties, but from time to time he shows some real good playmaking and he makes some decent plays. But I don’t think it’s been a good fit so far in Vancouver with a team like again Edmonton. He has history there. Would they go out and potentially ask him to go there? Not going to get much for him though. Now a real interesting name is Sherwood. If they’re not planning to extend him, who’s another one of those dogs, one of those guys with the mentality just hits everything that moves. And this year he’s exploded offensively, scored a ton of goals, fan favorite, huge leadership qualities. This is a team where a guy like Toron, like a team like Toronto would just love to have a guy like Sherwood or the Montreal Canadians. I know they’re looking for more of a center, but still like this is a guy who can fit on any playoff team and make a huge difference. But do the Vancouver Conucks want to trade him? What kind of value are you really getting? because the Conucks never seem to get proper value for these guys. I would want at least the late first or two seconds. Can they get that for a guy like Sherwood, you know, and with Quinn Hughes being mentioned that he’s not getting traded from this report yet, it does kind of wait until the trade deadline before we’ll have a little bit of an update there with Quinn because I’m pretty sure he’s getting fed up right now. And the Vancouver Conucks are like what the third second last team in the NHL right now. So, who would you guys trade? What would you guys trade for? What do you guys think about the article? Again, Elliot Freriedman out of nowhere dropping this on all of us. So, if you guys enjoyed the video, drop a like, hit that sub. We’re trying to hit a thousand. What do you guys think? Cheers.

  2. For me I’d trade one of Marcus Pettersson, Hronek or Myers, obviously with their approval. I’d keep the dogs that are Sherwood and Garland because they are the backbone, the culture, the heart and soul of the team and harder to replace. In saying that, and Hughes aside, Sherwood is probably the most enticing to playoff teams and contenders. With a cap friendly contract the market is probably only a second round pick, and a late one at that. A second doesn’t interest me all that much, but a first certainty does. Looking at this through the lens of let’s say a Carolina, they are a Garland/Sherwood away from really popping off so they just might bite the bullet and cough up that first 🤞 but I doubt it

  3. That article said UFAs. Jake, Boeser, Demko, are not UFAs. UFAs are Kane, Sherwood, Blueger (injured) Possibly Reichel, Kampf, and Forbort (injured). I don't think we are trading Forbort or Blueger, the rest can be on the table, I'd hope Kane is on the chopping block, Reichel and Kampf can be packaged, Sherwood can fetch us alot.

  4. Who are they going to trade when this management team has given anybody worth anything no movement clauses ? Myers boeser ,pety , Marcus Peterson , hronek , debrusk , and demko all can't be traded .

  5. Quinn is counting the days when he can leave this dumpster fire of a team and management. I love Demko, but giving him that contract with his injury history was insane. The Kane signing was terrible. He is over the hill and has stupid judgement which lands him in the box most of the time. Adam Foote is a defensive minded coach on a team that needs offense.
