Is it time to make Kon Knueppel the new cornerstone, or is LaMelo Ball still our centerpiece?

  1. No need to choose between them.
They can be our Curry and Klay if Curry only played 14 games a season.

  2. I like LaMelo a lot but injuries have been a big problem and his shot selection is frustrating at times. I’ve had very little to feel frustrated about with Kon (albeit a very small sample size) and I want to build around them both obviously. But if I had to choose one then Kon is probably my bet. Which is wild because I was not a big fan of his selection back on draft day.

  3. Keep in mind that Kon won’t always shoot this well, and that teams will watch some video on him to limit the ways he gets to his spots. With Lamelo’s value low right now, I’d like to see them both healthy and how they interact on offense.

  4. Hey guys believe it or not you need multiple star players to be a good team

Please stop before I progress to more aggressive language. Thanks

  5. GSW Klay is his main comparison. Imagine someone telling the warriors to trade Steph and get picks to build around Klay Thompson.

  6. Let’s not get too excited about pitting Kon vs LaMelo, I like KK but it’s way too early to be talking about building a franchise around Knueppel until next year to see if he will still be a proficient and consistent shooter or will the dreaded “Sophmore Slump” get to him like Brandon. He does have a skillset and Basketball IQ Hornets fans haven’t seen in a while, but I’m holding off on making him the “Cornerstone” until the 26-27 season.

  7. They’re BOTH our centerpieces. Come on now. We’re trying to add best friends, not replace em. Look at how good OKC is doing with all their best friends.

  8. our centerpiece is Melo/Miller/Kon…we can build around that but let’s throw out the notion that we have to build around ONE player.

  9. All I’m saying is that the NBA social media team was forced to do the work and add Kon’s headshot to the highlight thumbnails because they couldn’t keep justifying using Miles Bridges.

  10. First thought that came to my mind was why build around one player to come and see multiple people had the same idea. Why do we need 1 elite player and 4 lesser players when we can have 5 elite players. Kon in the next 3 years, melo and miller when healthy on their own team would all be all stars. Can make the case for kalkbrenner being all defensive team in 3 years every season if it wasn’t for wemby. Plus another top pick next year quite possibly. That’s 5 elite players when healthy. Could even trade some of the others for another star or 2. That is very ambitious but my point is there is no reason to limit ourself to one good player, if anything Charlotte deserve a buttload to make up for years of hurt.
