Benge posted absolutely elite batted ball metrics in a small sample size in AAA last year, despite the underwhelming surface statistics. He mashed baseballs and didn't strike out, while maintaining a roughly league-average chase rate.
The next thing for him to work on is pulling the ball in the air–if he learns to do that, he could seriously become a 25+ HR guy. 110 mph maxEV doesn't sound super impressive, but you must remember he didn't get that many opportunities to raise that figure given the few PAs.

They cannot pussyfoot around with him like they did with the Baby Mets. I’m not necessarily saying he should start opening day, but he should be starting every day once called up.
I’m honestly fine with him being the opening day LF, AAA is pointless to me
I’m sure they’ll keep him down there to start the year to get an extra year of control but imo if you aren’t getting Tucker or Bellinger he’s the best option
If he’s ready, if he’s not then he’s not.. gotta trust the scouts on this
If you look at this same page for Jett, you’ll see why it’s very obvious the org is so high on Benge and clearly not as high on Jett.
“Soto drives in Benge with a rocket double down the line, Mets extend the lead on the Phillies 23-2 in the 4th” I like that
How is his fWar
