MAJOR ISSUES The Seattle Seahawks Must Fix Ahead Of Week 13 vs. Vikings
Welcome into a victorious Monday edition of Seahawks today. I am your host Will Ortner. And the Seahawks found a way to get a victory in Nashville on the road. Now, was it the cleanest game? No, I don’t think so. In fact, there are two things that we’re going to take a deep dive into that really frustrated me with the Seahawks in this game, but also are two frustrating things that I’ve seen pop up throughout the year on the Seahawks. What’s not frustrating? Seahawks victories. If you love it when the Seahawks win football games, they’ve been doing a lot of it this year. Go in and smash that thumbs up button. I love it when the Seahawks win. You love it when the Seahawk wins. Producer Coupe loves it when the Seahawks win. Smash that thumbs up button. Now, here are the big problems for me that I’m seeing with the Seahawks. It’s finishing games and finishing drives. What do I mean by that? It feels like the Seahawks have had multiple opportunities at the end of games to really put an opponent away and they haven’t done so. And then they’ve also had opportunities offensively to find a way to get into the end zone. And for whatever reason, whether it be penalties, mistakes, bad decision makingaking, they just don’t finish drives. First, I want to look at the finishing of football games. And we’re going to start in the offensive side of the football. In five of your last six games, your Seattle Seahawks, our Seattle Seahawks, have not scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter. How absolutely freaking brutal is that? That means aside from one game, the Seahawks basically went in and said, “Nah, we’re good. This is what our output is going to be.” Don’t believe me? Look at the last six games. We’ve got them up right here. Jacksonville Jaguars. Yeah, you won that game pretty comfortably. Didn’t score in the fourth quarter. Houston Texans, Monday Night Football, right before your by-week. People starting to get healthy. Didn’t score in the fourth quarter. for the Washington Commanders game. Of course, you had to have scored in the fourth quarter that one. Everybody was scoring in that game. Uh, nope. Didn’t score against them. Arizona Cardinals. I mean, shoot. Demarcus Lawrence scored two touchdowns by himself. Had to have scored in that one. No. Now, the Rams, you did score late. You didn’t score early enough, but you did score late. And then against the Tennessee Titans, you didn’t score in the fourth quarter against them either. So, we’re at a point where no points are being scored. Well, that’s only a problem if defensively you’re giving up points. You’re letting the other team go in and score. And when you look at the defensive side of the football, yeah, actually, they are giving up points in the fourth quarter. There has not been a single game this year where your opponent did not score in the fourth quarter. Not one game, not one game have the Seahawks kept the other teams from being out of the end zone in the fourth quarter. Does this worry you? Are you worried about how the Seahawks fourth quarter issues are starting to kind of pass now? I mean, shoot, five out of your last six, you haven’t scored a touchdown in the fourth. In every game this year in the fourth quarter, you’ve given up points. Does that worry you a little bit? Let me know down below in the comments because it worries me a little bit. I’ll be honest with you. Now, to be fair, because I have to be. I try to be impartial. Most of these games have been blowouts. I mean, come on. The Commanders game, that was a butt whooping. Jaguars game, you were in control. Uh, your biggest scoring output in the fourth quarter of a game was against the Pittsburgh Steelers. That’s where you really ran away with a victory there. It felt like and feels like in a lot of these games the Seahawks kind of took their foot off of the gas. They took their foot uh you know more so off the table. Hey, we don’t need to push down. We don’t need to go pedal to the metal because the Seahawks just keep winning. But I’ll tell you right now, and this is my take, it’s fine to not score when you’re blowing someone out. It’s not fine to not score and to not keep a team out of the end zone when you aren’t blowing them out. And while it never felt like the Titans were ever in any real danger of pushing you in this one, of getting a victory in this one, it definitely didn’t feel comfortable as you look at the end of this game. And these are things that keep coming up again and again and again. Defensively, you need to pitch a shutout in the fourth quarter against Minnesota or against Atlanta. Offensively, you better score touchdowns against both Minnesota and Atlanta. I don’t care how much you are up by because I’m sick and tired of the fourth quarters of games being weird, feeling funky, feeling murky. It’s got to get fixed. You have to fix it. I’m going to get into the finishing of drives here in just a moment, but before I do, I need to let you know that this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. It is the holiday season, the best time of year for sports. Bowl games, basketball matchups, playoff pushes, it is all happening at once. And while you and I are out here making decisions every day what gifts to buy, what to eat, which game to go and watch, there’s one place where it feels good to be right. Price Picks. New feature alert. Price Pix now has early payouts. If your lineup gets off to a hot start, you may now have the option to cash out those winnings before the game even finishes. Price picks is the best way to win cash this football season. Which players are going off? Which ones are overhyped? Make your picks in less than 60 seconds and turn your takes into cash all season long on price picks. I had a three pick power play for the action last weekend. Cam Ward less on his pass yards. JSN more on his receiving yards and Rasheed Shahed more on his receiving yards as well. Download the app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Price picks. It’s good to be right. Okay, so I already mentioned it. Your other big problem is finishing drives. You have been struggling in the last two games, especially early on, to finish drives in the end zone. Getting points is always good, but it could always be better. And I think that this game really illustrates what happened in the first half for the Seahawks. You had four straight scoring drives in the first half. Good. The problem, three out of the four are field goals. The first drive, drive all the way down, couple big catches, got to kick a field goal. Second drive, hey, big play by Jackson Smith and Jiggba. He runs himself all the way into the end zone. So, you don’t have to worry about finishing there. He does it all himself. He finishes in Nashville for you. Then on third down or your third drive, I should say, you drive down, you get close, you play around almost, you’re thinking about getting into the end zone, got to kick a field goal. And then the fourth drive. Now, some of this has to do with the end of the game, some clock management, end of the half, excuse me, clock management. But again, you don’t get into the end zone. So, instead of that game being, oh, I don’t know, 28-3, 16-3. 16-3 is a 13-point game. A 13-point game is only two scores. That feels a lot different than what it would have felt if it’s a 28-3 game. And this is multiple games in a Now, when you played the Los Angeles Rams, the Seahawks were not able to finish off drives in the end zone. It was your Achilles heel in that matchup, and it kept rearing its ugly head again and again and again. You need to finish drives in the end zone for multiple reasons. If the Seahawks go out and score those first four drives and you score touchdowns on all of them, even let’s say three, right? You’re up 24-3, the game’s done. Tennessee is packing up, giving in. They’re quitting. You put your entire foot on their throat and they give up. But instead, what do the Seahawks do? They kick a field goal. They kick a field goal. They kick a field goal. Then they get the ball to start the next half. Don’t go out and do anything really with it. Now the Titans feel like they’re back in this game. Didn’t cost you against the Titans, but it definitely cost you against the Rams. If that Shahed ball gets caught instead of Emanuel Forbes knocking it away, you win that football game. You just would have you would have won a a football game against the Rams. If you don’t get called for a holding penalty, you don’t kick a field goal against the Rams. You score a touchdown on Kenneth Walker, you win that game. The Titans aren’t the team that you measure up to. You don’t look at your performance against Tennessee and say, “Hey, well, this is where we’re at.” You measure your performance against the Rams. You measure your performance against a team like the Colts. You measure your performance against postseason teams. And when you play them, you better have your you know what ready to go. And if you don’t, you’re going to keep losing again and again and again. It’s so freaking frustrating with this team because all they have to do is just keep doing what they were doing to get down into the end zone in the first place. Great. The Seahawks performance. How do you do? How do you think the Seahawks did? scale one to 12. I think right now if I had to go in, I’d probably do a soft eight, maybe a hard seven. You know, one of those deals where it was pretty good for the most part, but there are some things that really popped up that continue to pop up week after week after week, and it cost the Seahawks in key games, in big games. You needed to stop costing the Seahawks soon. Make sure you go in, smash that like button for us. We always appreciate those of you who come in and like our videos. my predictions are vikings 20-31 seahawks, seahawks 27-17 falcons, colts 24-30 seahawks, rams 31-28 seahawks, seahawks 28-17 panthers, seahawks 23-28 49ers tbh
I would give the Seahawks a 7 out of 12
We get away from the run game way to easily. Kubiak started throwing in the fourth quarter which is fine but I feel like sometimes he only runs cause he has a gun pointed at his head. Titans got 1 timeout with 5 minutes left, 3 runs and you milk 2 minutes of the clock. And the run game was working too.
There seems to be an element of "we got this" when there's still a full quarter or more to play which shows some immaturity, I'm not saying we need to do the Bellichick routine of taking time outs in the last two minutes with a 24 point lead but as the old adage goes " you play not to lose and you can end up losing ",we need to keep the pressure on until the last whistle blows.💙💚
D+ Rating
Offense is not use all weapons to score in the Red Zone. Easy fix or do they want to score
It’s like a reverse of Pete Carrol when he always yelled if they could win the game in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter lol. It’s like they push it for the first 3 quarters and then 4th eh let’s rest
Is it just me or do the Seahawks always play down to inferior teams?!?!
To me it looks like they go into a prevent defense and start running the ball much more which is fine but it does end up hurting their stats which I know they didn't care about and I'm sure they don't want to run the score up or get injuries to let players but as a fan it drives you crazy
Every Seahawks team has always got a lead or even a big lead then let the other team catch up and pass em at the end that's been a problem for many , many , many year's they get a lead then don't capitalize on it ! It's been that way for decades !!!

LFG HAWKS
The Titans damn near caught up and won that game near the end !!! Keep scoring !!! Keep scoring !!! Keep scoring !!! Keep scoring !!! La Rams beat the bucks by injuring Maker Bayfield that's messed up those rams and 69ers will do anything to win and their super creep coaches that cheating deliverance looking 69ers coach and that cheating Shawn MCgay on the butt rams !!! I friggin can't stand those two coaches at all whatsoever !!! Or their crappy California team's !!!
Well on offense Seattle needs to utilize the matchups better. They really need to start using Cooper Kupp and the tight end more.
San Donna's playing like he's running away from Ghost, he needs some totally forget about the Rams game and just move on and just keep it simple. Don't force things and use the check downs more.
If you use the check downs more it will open things up.
Defensively, they need to be better in pass coverage. When you have a quarterback that's capable of running you need to keep an eye on that and not let them run.
Overall Seattle needs to keep their foot on the gas, just because you have a big lead doesn't mean they can evaporate quickly. You need to keep your foot on their neck and keep making them pay.
You can't let up.
That is one man's opinion
Never seen a fan base not satisfied with being 8-3. Lol
I don't like the play calling. There are WAY too many 3rd and longs. That puts pressure on Darnold and he basically has one receiver. Kupp rarely gets open anymore.

Beyond the still obvious Oline weakness, what happened to the initially highly touted Special Teams performance? Gone mediocre.
I give the seahawks performance a 9
Your assessment is missing a few things. The windows are much tighter and the risk is higher the closer you get to the goal line. Our defense is a great example of bend don’t break. Other defenses do the same. And while I agree, the goal is always to score TDs; it is difficult to put up TDs. I’m more concerned with penalties and health. As for the Rams game, we threw 4 int… we beat ourselves
If McCarthy is playing there is no worries at all lol
Very simply, they take their boot off.The throat and try to burn the clock. But the running game isn't successful. So they turn the ball over
Can we get less click baity titles? The more I see them on here the more I just feel like unsubscribing.
Sundays performance would have us eliminated in round 1! We have a lot of things to fix asap!
7, I think they play it safe in the 4th so Sam doesn’t throw another interception. I agree, we need to keep scoring the entire game. Hard to bet the Hawks when the go to safe mode in the 4th. Go Hawks, we will win the rest of our games. 🍀🍀🍀
