“That Game Was NUTS!!!” – Rich Eisen on the Wild Ride That Was Giants vs Lions in Week 12

Jamus, let’s talk about this game, man. Love Jamus. I mean, let me just tell you this, okay? I mean, yeah. Um, listen, uh, Mike Kofka, let’s have Gunnar Schevsky throw one to Jameus Winston. Okay, first of all, whatever whatever caused you to think that, Mike, whatever caused you, let’s dial it up against the Detroit Lions in Detroit, whatever put that in the playbook, you dialing it up and it actually happening. Oh my gosh. What a moment in time that was because Jamus had Yak. It wasn’t just him. It wasn’t just like some Philly special inside the 10. That was awesome. And then Jameus had already made Juan Dale Robinson offensive player of the week type candidate. You know what I mean? So, this is exactly why I’m sitting here thinking, you know, just just keep Jack, you know, Jackson Dart nailed to the bench. Let James finish this season. There’s only two wins. Once again, they lose a game. They snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on the road. I mean, this is the stat. the the difference between the Giants having a season that their fans will never forget to having an interim head coach and a quarterback in a concussion protocol right now. You ready? I feel like here it comes. Here it comes. This sums it all up. And Giants fans sitting at home wherever Allan Dallas and the rest of the Giants fans are here. Here it comes. Week 12 was the Giants seventh consecutive game against a team currently two games above 500. And in those games, the Giants have five losses when they held the lead in the fourth quarter. So they have the horses to compete, they have the horses to beat and then don’t they could have six or seven wins and and Dable could be sitting there. He didn’t fire Shane Bowen when everybody’s saying they should fire him. the defensive coordinator. Well, Mike Kafka just did it this morning. The DC’s gone. They’re on an inter How about that? The DC fired by an interim head coach. I mean, can they do that? I mean, I I if you’re Shane Bowen, you’re like, um, can I speak to the manager? Right. Can I I have my receipt. It’s called a contract signed by Mara and Tish. You can do this. So the interim head coach is now the Karen of coaching. Is that Well, and and for at any moment in time that you might have thought, well, Juan Delale Robinson is an offensive player of the week candidate because he had over a 100 yards in the what the first quarter, 156 yards, most by a Giants player since Malik Neighbors, remember him? Did it uh this year in week two for the Giants way back when when everybody thought they had a chance to beat the Dallas Cowboys? Could you also imagine if they started Jamus to start the season? Not to not to pile more on Russ, but at any rate, uh, Londell Robinson, nice game. Jameus Winston, 366 pass yards and a touchdown reception. I’ve got a did you know to finish the show. It’ll be great on that. Yeah, Jameus is out there to wing it around. That’s that’s how these games. And this is exactly why again, Jackson Dart just we’ve seen enough. We know he’s good. We know you want to get reps. I’m sure Mike Kofka would love to show ownership what he can do with the kid as the HC and the OC. I totally understand that, but no more. You got Jamus. Let him do this. You’re win. You have You could still try to win games and you could still try to improve your your world, but I’ve seen I’ve seen enough from Jackson Dart to put him anywhere in the line of fire. But you want to talk offensive player of the week? There’s only three words for Jir Gibbs and it’s it’s simple and they are they are oh my god honestly I don’t know of Listen I know McCaffrey is unreal and I know Jonathan Taylor has been unreal and I know Jackson Smith and Jigba has already certainly in a season in which we’re wondering how will they do without DK Metaf and JSN is he ready to be number one he has broken DK Metaf’s Seattle Seahawks single season receiving record in 11 games. That’s wild. He’s already 10 better than DK’s best season in 11 games. But Jir Gibbs is the only one that makes me get off my couch and curse. I’m serious. I have him on my fantasy team, so I curse. But for Well, I mean, Cooper’s cursing because he’s losing with him. How is anyone with Gibbs this week losing? So unlucky. He is so upset right now. You have no idea. I He had to have put up 60 points in every league. 57. I had to talk him down. 15 carries, 219 rush yards, a careerhigh. His average per carry against the New York Giants. And this is why maybe Shane Bowen finally got the call. His you want to guess what his yards per carry was? Don’t you you do the math in your head right here. I just gave it to you. 14.6 yards per carry. I mean, two rushing touchdowns and he had 11 catches, too. This is what you do. And again, note in Vegas. I understand Jir Gibbs has been in the league for a couple years. That’s 26 touches. 26 touches. Second career game with 200 or more scrimmage yards. Third Lions player with multiple games of 200 more scrimmage yards. Most rushes by a Lions player since Barry Sanders, who he is now about to run down. We’re updating the list. We showed you this list the other day when he had just 41 career touchdowns. which was ranked fifth all time by most touchdowns scored by somebody who’s not yet 24 years old. He’s now tied with Randy Moss for second place. He had 41, he’s now got 44 after today, after yesterday. And if he has the same result against the Packers, he’ll have tied Barry Sanders on Thanksgiving. And again, just to remind everybody, he doesn’t turn another year older until next March, the 20th. So, he’s going to be 23 years old for the rest of the season. Again, he doesn’t have a new year in his life until there’s a new league here in the NFL. And they needed every yard from him yesterday. every yard because Crazy Jamus showed up and Mike Kfka is like, “Okay, you want to see a bag of tricks? How’s Gunnar Ovesky putting one up for a touchdown from 30 something yards out?” I mean, Jared Goff, who’s been around some talented players, certainly here in Los Angeles, um he I think he’s running out of words for Gibbs. Yeah, that dude’s uh as good as they come in our league and he’s uh making his claim across the league as one of the best players regardless of position and um we’re lucky to have him, man. He’s he’s so electric and for him to be able to do that to supplement some of the struggles we were having was was awesome. You can tell the fear in the defense, you know, when the ball gets in his hands, the way they rally to him. Um, and then certainly when he gets to the second level on some of those longer runs, like you can feel the the safety, the angle they start taking and it it’s it’s a good feeling for us and it’s hard for our defense. You know what he looks like? You know what he reminds me of? I said it on the overreaction Monday pot. I’ll say it here to you TJ. You didn’t hear me say it before. He looks like Reggie Bush in college. And this is Pro Bowl. Interesting. Run away from people. Reggie made me curse too coming off the couch. I’m like, “Oh, OS. Oh my goodness. I saw Reggie Bush on Saturday just randomly. Interesting. Football. Good to know. Yeah. Aman Ross St. Brown 505 now career receptions. That’s six shy of breaking Michael Thomas’s all-time record through the first five seasons of a career. Remember I told you he was a top five receiver in the league years ago and you you looked at me like I had three heads. I don’t remember that. I remember you saying it. I don’t remember us looking at you like you were crazy. I also said Derrick Henry’s a Hall of Famer. You looked at me like I had three eggs. I’m just at the time. Got it. That was We did not look. This is why I don’t want to quit on the Lions either. You’re just very quick on putting people in. I got three That’s true. days left until I have to make a mulligan on NFL game day morning’s Thanksgiving show. And you should make a mulligan with both teams. You should have made a mulligan. I got Chiefs and Lions. Yeah. Should have mulligan when you picked the Eagles yesterday. I saw that. Everybody did. Literally everybody did. Oh, I saw it. It’s also because it was a food segment and I wanted the Philadelphia food more than this. The Cowboys Cowboys food had pickles on it. I’m not a pickles guy. I see. I don’t blame you there. I probably would have done the same thing. George pickles. Should have taken the George Pickles. The Lions are there. But the Bears, man, and the Bears, the Bears come in to Detroit for the last game of the year. Or they actually get they get Detroit in in Soulja Field. Last game of the year. Soulja Boy. I mean, Tariq get his get his uh his winter clothes on for now. I mean, that’s going to be for the North, right? Just like last year. It’s either North or top of the uh wild card standings. But then there’s the Packers, too, who are in Detroit Thanksgiving Day to kick it all off. Holy crap. This is wild, man. I don’t know anything that’s going to happen. This is great. Thanksgiving Dallas then out here against the Rams. tough. Best team in the NFC in the whole league right now before Rogers gets one last spin in Detroit. Dallas is back. We go. That’s a rough stretch there. That game was nuts. That game was nuts. Especially since Bates’s uh field goal to tie it 59 yards. Yeah. Went outside the right upright and came it started at the right upright inside the right upright then went out and then came back in. It’s like Phil Negro was sitting there smiling. That was a good one. I was thinking you need to pull it over to take a you know a breathalyzer. That ball was drunk. Sit down football. You could walk a straight line. 28 28 seconds left. I was like, “Oh, he 59 yards. It was good. No good. Good. Overtime. Here we go.” Bates making the UFFL proud. That was great. What a So good, man. That witching hour was Was Hansen. Okay, man. I need for a six leg parlay. That’s all I’m saying. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. 1. NY did us on us!!! Jamis even did the Blade dance on us!!! Probably the only player that's not from the D, that I couldn't get mad at for doing that celly 😩 Hold that L, tho 😂

  2. Dart and russ both got the job without there being a competition so if him and dart go head up darts not that at all not to be beat Winston in no training camp nore is russ

  3. The old Lions would have lost this game. They would have came up short just like the Giants did and claim another moral victory. The Lions did it for decades. Full credit to the owner, GM, DC, and Spielman.

  4. Bates FG was caused by the Magnus Effect. It's a physical force that acts perpendicular to the path of a spinning object, deflecting it due to a pressure imbalance created by the spin. In Bates case. the combination of the football's spin and drag from the laces amplified the effect. causing the ball to swerve significantly. And yes, I looked it up…….lol. GO LIONS!!!!!!

  5. Bates technique reminds me of a knife thrower. They use different grips at different distances based on how much rotation the knife will do, but instead of grips he’s calculating the magnus effect he’s gonna create with his kick, based on the distance of the FG.
