Could De’Von Achane Be Too EXPENSIVE For The Miami Dolphins To Extend?

Will Devon Achan be too expensive for the Miami Dolphins to extend this off season? Let’s talk about what that number could potentially be and if it’s realistic that the Dolphins will get an extension done with a running back, let alone Devon Achin. We will discuss that in depth. Plus, we got a whole lot to talk about regarding a Tyreek update. We have McDaniel went to the podium and you got to ask yourself, is James Daniels going to play another down for the Miami Dolphins? Man, we got a lot to discuss, a lot to talk about as we get into Saints week. Do me the favor, smash the like button. If you’re new, go ahead and subscribe. And as always, let’s get into this. You have got to be kidding me. Heat. Heat. Beautiful day to be a dolphin dance. Let’s go. What is good Finn Nation? What’s good? It’s your boy Reason and we are back here for another one. We got a lot to talk about. Listen, what a beautiful stress-free weekend. Hey, not having to worry about the Miami Dolphins. That was that was beautiful. That was beautiful stuff. Beautiful stuff. you know, did some Christmas family photos, went out to family lunch on Sunday. You know, I really didn’t watch a ton of football till I caught the end of the afternoon games, the 400 PM games, and then, you know, I watched some Sunday Night Football, but man, listen, I I’m not letting, you know, and we’ll talk about this, the Miami Dolphins being in the playoff hunt me, right? So, I hope everyone is having a fantastic start to their week. Shout out to everyone in the chat. Been a while since we’ve done it. Shout out to Blockbuster, Cash Lions, Lemony Craad, Daniel Barry, Sports Highlights, Jason Kek, Daniel Mian, B- Rob, um, Robert Thomasson, um, El Pad, Scorpion King, WC Mitlo, um, who else we got in here? Phillip um PensV, shout out to the homie Pen Astridge. She’s here, too. She’s up early in Australia. Hey, putting a shrimp on the Bobby. Uh Kevin Williams, Maurice, what’s going on? Little unlikable monster, how are you doing? Don’t worry, I like you, monster. Nick Quack Pro special, shout out to all of you in the chat already. I appreciate each and every one of you coming through. Um, Street King in here, too. So, got a lot to discuss. Okay, first things first, cuz I already know like I’m going to get ahead of it, you know? Like, guys, I already know it’s coming. All right, last week my jabroni of the week was all those who wanted to draft Shidor Sanders and you still are the jabroni of last week. I’m sorry. Listen, first thing first. I’ll say if you go back and listen to the whole little segment last week, I did say he’s going to be better than Dylan Gabriel. I did say I still believe he’s going to be better than Dylan Gabriel. I said that 110% and I still stick by that. But I, you know, a lot of people were quiet last week and yet a lot of people are taking victory laps this week over Shador Sanders. And listen, was he better than last week? 110%. But guys, I mean, Miles Garrett was again unbelievable. All right. And number two, it was the Raiders. All right. Yes. The same Raiders who after the game went out and fired Chip Kelly. All right. Listen. Now, that’s not to say that one throw uh Shadur made, I believe it was to Isaiah Bond, the one where he scrambled out, got on the run, and heaved it to Isaiah Bond who was open. I’m pretty sure it was to Isaiah Bond if I remember correctly. That was that was a really good throw. That was definitely the best throw I’ve seen of him um you know, obviously in the in the two games he’s played in in the regular season. Um, but still he was 11 of 20, right? He’s still around 50%. You know, um, so I got to see Shadur I got to see Shadur, you know, 65 plus percentage, 200 plus yards. You know, I got to see this against a good defense, right? And I got to see it consistently a good against good defense until I start crowning. I still think he’s going to be better than Dylan Gabriel. Like I said last week, I just think it’s going to take him longer because I think Gillan Dylan Gabriel is ahead of him as a processor. You know what I mean? Now, will he ever have a chance to get there? I don’t know. I can’t tell you that. But I mean, you can tell, you know, he’s more gifted of a quarter of an athlete and he’s not even that great of an athlete, but he’s more gifted of an athlete than a guy like Dylan Gabriel. I did I think after the game the arrogance was a little a little like listen that’s why some of these people don’t like you Shadur is because of your postgame onfield interview that’s going to come off as arrogant to take it from a guy who people think I’m arrogant because I talk about the amount of times I’m right because I’m right a whole lot more than I’m wrong. People call me arrogant for talking about that. What do they what do you think this generation’s going to call you after what you said on the field? I personally I don’t really like I’m not one way or the other. I just think that didn’t do his you know do him any favors what he said after the game. If you didn’t have a chance go see it. Um he he was you know I could see how people could say he came off as arrogant. To me it’s like hey he just won his first game right. I mean, you know, um, he just won his first game, so I, you know, and you got to have Moxy to play the position, so, you know, I mean, but he was like, you know, he was like, “This is what you saw after one week of practice, blah blah blah blah blah.” You know, um, this is just one week of practice. Um, so, you know, imagine what a full off season is going to look like. It’s going to be be dangerous. Blah blah blah blah blah. I mean, why even say that, man? Again, it’s the Raiders. Did you go out and beat the Chiefs? You know, like, and even still, the Chiefs aren’t even that good this year. So, let me use a better example. Did you go out and beat, I don’t know, the Patriots, who I can’t believe I’m saying that, 10-2. Did you go out and beat the Patriots or the Rams or one of the best teams in football? You beat one of the worst teams in football. So, I would tell him, you know, if I was a PR guy, I would tell him, “Hey, bro, relax.” you know, right now it’s about building up that, you know, credibility and respect with not only your fan base, but with NFL fans in general. So, um, and he, again, the performance wasn’t that great. 11 of 20. That’s not that great. You know, putting up a 53% pass completion percentage against again the Raiders, one of the worst teams in football right now is nothing to write home about. One touchdown, one interception, nothing to write home about. So, but I still think he’s gonna be better than Dylan Gabriel. just give this kid time, you know, just give him time. So, is he going to be a full-fledged everyday starter in the NFL? That remains to be seen. I got to see him against better defenses. So, um but hey man, a win is a win in the NFL. So, shout out to Shador for that. And um I also, if I remember correctly right, I’m pretty sure Shadur Sanders is like the first Browns QB to win his first start since like 95. I think like 17 straight rookies had lost if I remember correctly. Um, so I mean that’s a big positive 110%. You know, for sure 110%. That’s a big thing. I think yeah, 17 straight QBs had lo starting had lost their debut and he was the first Browns QB to win his first start for the team since 95. So shout out to Shador for that. That’s good stuff right there. Um, but yeah, he’s still not a first round talent. So, anyone saying they would have drafted him in the first, you’re crazy. Uh, let’s stick with the Raiders for a sec. I don’t know if you guys saw this. Did you guys see what Gino Smith Did Did you guys see what Gino Smith did postame running off the field in that Vegas game? This man went and flipped off all the Raider fans. Gino Smith running off the field, flips up the two birds towards all Raider fans. I thought that was absolutely wild. I I thought that was absolutely wild. Um, you know, and then Chip Kelly fired only a few hours after. Like, wow. Uh, you know, what a dis that’s but that’s the type of disaster you’re dealing with in Vegas right now. It’s off the rails in Vegas. I mean, there’s just nothing else to it. It’s off the rails in Vegas. But yeah, you can go find it. Gino Smith literally running off the field and flipping off all the Raider fans that were booing him and yelling him and chirping him. I think that’s wild. Now, Chip Kelly then got fired. I want you to think about one sec how crazy this is that Chip Kelly got fired. That was supposed to be Daryl Beville’s job. That’s what that was supposed to be. That was job. That offensive coordinator position was supposed to be current Miami Dolphins quarterback coach Daryl Beville. Um, and he’s probably thanking his lucky stars right now. He’s probably thanking his lucky stars. Um, you know, and this I tweeted this out yesterday. Um, what’s interesting too is think about this for a sec. Um, this is now two times in a row Raiders management has stepped in and they’ve kai Bosched to move. Now, what do I mean by that? You remember a couple years ago when they hired Josh McDaniels. the team was pressing for them to hire Richie Basakia, who had taken over as interim head coach and they had found a little bit of success with, but instead a lot of Raiders investors and Raiders upper Management said, “That isn’t good enough. We need to go bigame hunting.” And they went out and they got um Josh McDaniels Um, and it blew up in their face, right? It ended up actually not working out. Um, and then so that blew up in their face. Now what happened? It was supposed to be Daryl Bevville. That’s who Pique Carroll wanted to bring in obviously because there’s our Seahawks ties and they stepped in and said, “No, we want a big name.” and they made Chip Kelly the highest paid offensive coordinator in the NFL and 12 weeks into the season he’s gone. So, I think that’s uh I think that’s that’s you know, see big names aren’t always the best, right? You know, bigname hunting isn’t always the best. You know, those are the kind of vibes I get from if the Miami Dolphins were to move off of Mike McDaniel. Those are the kind of vibes I think it’d be a disaster with Mike McCarthy. I don’t know why. I just have a feeling. I could be wrong. I don’t know. But I get the same thing. It’s like bigname hunting could be a disaster if you go for a guy like that. So, Chip Kelly, I was wow, what what a bad day. Hey, what a bad day for the Vegas Raiders. Point blank period. What a bad day. And I got to say something else. The Jets, man. Quinnon Williams has been an absolute revelation since going to the Dallas Cowboys. He had eight pressures against the Eagles and he only had 30 pass rushes. I mean, this was like a 26.7% pressure rate. Man, since joining the Cowboys, Quinnon Williams has more quarterback pressures than any other defensive tackle and has the second lowest average time to pressure amongst those with at least five. I mean, Quinnon Williams has been phenomenal. Phenomenal. And sticking with quarterbacks, Shadur, you know, I think Shadur, I said last week, I still think Shadur is going to be better than Dylan Gabriel. I’ll say it again this week. That J JJ McCarthy man JJ McCarthy. Oh, he is bad. I JJ McCarthy. I don’t, you know, it’s way too early to use the bus word. But oh boy, if there’s one guy that’s trending that way, it’s JJ McCarthy. And if you remember, I was not a fan of him coming out. And what’s crazy is I actually think Harbaugh wanted to ditch Herbert for him. And what a mistake that would have been. But JJ McCarthy, it’s absolutely awful in Minnesota. And you can’t blame Kevin O’Connell has revitalized how many careers. I don’t blame Kevin Oonnell. He’s a proven quarterback whisperer. JJ McCarthy might be the worst starting quarterback in the NFL right now. And it doesn’t look it just looks like the game is way too fast for him. The processing is just not there. Did you know right now JJ McCarthy ranks 851st out of 852 quarterbacks in EPA per dropback since 2000. The only player with a worst EPA per dropback, aka number 852, is Jammarcus Russell. Think about that for a second. Only Jamarcus Russell since 2000 has a worse EPA per dropback than JJ McCarthy right now. Okay, that’s bad. That is impressively bad. Now, I do want to talk a little college ball before we get into the Dolphin stuff here. Listen, I know we’ve talked about him on this channel, but you can officially say I planted my flag this week and Dolphins Twitter, they hopped on board, those that didn’t know him, which was a lot of people. Kenyan Sadi. Listen, if this team is drafting between 11 and 18 and Kenyan Sadik is on the board, listen, if Jordan Tyson is gone, if you don’t want to take, if you think that’s too high for a Carnell Tate or a Mai Lemon, but you want a weapon, Kenyan Sadi is your guy. All right. I also got to speak about this. You know, you guys have been watching me, you already know. I’m gonna say it again. Dante Moore QB1. All right. Like, did anyone watch him this past weekend? Unbelievable. Dante Moore is that dude right now. All right. Dante Moore is QB1 if he declares. I’m sorry, man. All you Mendoza fanboys, I’m sorry, man. You know, Moore is younger. Moore is the better athlete. You know, I could make the argument that Moore is a little bit more accurate, especially on the move. Dante Moore is number one, man. If he declares, he really is. Dante Moore is that dude. And I’m going to take another I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again. Dante Moore is the only quarterback worth trading up for. And I think Dante Moore, if he declares he’s going to be a New Orleans Saint, that’s who they’re going to take number one overall. Get ready for it for sure. Now, I think they might take Mendoza maybe, but I I I think it’s going to be Dante Moore when it’s all said and done. For sure. For sure. But yeah, Kenyan Sadi, listen, if you want an offensive lineman, Spencer Fano, who almost look, he escaped injury this past weekend. Spencer Fano, Francis Modigoa, if you want a weapon, Kenyan Sadique. If Jordan Tyson’s on the board, I’m down. I’m down for Carninal Tate and Mai Lemon, but Kenya Sadi got to be in that conversation. Probably at the top of it. I don’t think there’s going to be a quarterback worth taking there for sure. I don’t think so. Um, if you want a corner, you know, Delane, you know, uh, you got, uh, Delane Moore, you got Jam McCoy, who I I think that’s perfect. I don’t think if you’re looking for a safety, I don’t think Caleb DS is gonna be there. If you want an edge rusher, you know, David Bailey, who I think is going to climb up, boards, could be there. Kendrick Faulk maybe could be there. There’s going to be options. My whole point of that is options. But when you’re looking at the weapon option, Kenya Sadique got to be at the top of that list. He got to be at the top of that list. I mean, for all of you that were banging the table for Tyler Warren, for people like me, well, I was one of the few. I don’t know if there were anyone was anyone else that was banging the table for Brock Bowers the year before. Remember I was saying if he’s if it’s if it’s in tradeable range, move up for him. That’s how far I was with Brock Bowers. For all of us, Kenyon Sadi should be at the top of your list. He’s a combination of both. You know, Kenyon Sadik 41 12 in vertical 63 listed at 255. is just an absolute beast, right? He’s a more dynamic playmaker and catcher than a guy like Tyler Warren, but he’s a damn good blocker, right? He’s a better blocker than Bowowers was coming out. Really, he w he is. So, that that’s why I look at him as a combination, right? The guy power cleans 365 and bench presses 435. Like I said, Dante Moore is like a combination uh and a blend of everything you want from Tai Simpson and Mendoza. Kenyan Sadi is a blend of everything you like from Bowowers and Tyler Warren’s games, right? He has the potential to be very special in the right offense and if he’s targeted, he could be very, very special. Telling you right now. So, you know, he’s at the top of the list with Spencer Fano and Francis Moy Goa for me. So, uh yeah. Yeah. If Jordan Tyson makes it there, he’d be at the top of the list, too. Um I don’t want an edge, but I have a feeling they’re going to be really high on an edge that high, especially if Chub is gone. You know, a corner makes a ton of sense. Like I said, you know, Dan Moore, um, obviously, um, Jamad McCoy, I think, is an absolute stud. I mean, uh, just an abs Oh, sorry. Manor Delaney. What am I talking about? Delani Moore. Mansor Delaney is who I was talking about. Mansor Delaney. Um, and I don’t know why I’m talking about Delani Moore. I don’t know where I got that from. I guess I was combining Dante Moore and and Manser Delani. Oh my god, my mind’s out there right now. Um, so yeah, Coroner Delane, um, Delane, Manser, Delane, Dam McCoy. I don’t think a guy like, um, you know, I don’t think a guy like Hood makes sense till the 20s. You know what I mean? I I just don’t, you know, I know a lot of people are really high on Colton Hood coming out. I I just don’t think he it doesn’t make sense to the 20s for me. If you’re targeting a guy like that, you trade back. Um, you know, for me. So, um, but anyways, yeah, there’s just a lot of ways we can go here for sure. I’ll tell you one thing, if he’s on the board, I don’t see them taking a guy like Jeremiah Love, but I think Jeremiah Love’s going to go in the top 10. I mean, that’s really the only way you don’t go because you don’t need a running back, right? But we need corner help. If you want to add a stud like a maner Delaneia, Jam McCoy, it makes sense. Now, is Aven Terrell, is Malik Muhammad, are these guys going to be there at the top of the second? I don’t know. I don’t think Here’s the thing. You’re also in that position too where let’s say you’re picking at like 11, right? What are the chances that a Colton Hood or Aven Terrell are going to be on the board by the time you come around your second with your second round pick? You know, corner feels like one of those positions where if you don’t take one of the blue chips high, you know, you’re going to be even when it comes around to your second round pick, you’re going to be into the second tier. right? You know, um the only one that you might be with first tier guys still on the board, you know, guard. Although I think Vega Yon the from Penn State, I think he’ll be gone. I think he’s going to go in the first round. But where is a guy like Emanuel Pregnon going to go from Oregon? Another Oregon player we’re talking about here, right? Um you know, so but I do think that, you know, I think when you get into like Chase Bot Bzontes, um Charles Agusa from Notre Dame, you know, I think these guys are going to be more like third, fourth round guys. Um so yeah, Brian Parker is probably coming up from Duke, too, right? So, um yeah. All right, let’s uh get into some stuff today. Let’s start off with the jabroni of the week. Um, let’s Japron of the week. Oh my god, we got to get into it. Uh, sorry, I have to. Anyone taking the in the hunt playoff graphic seriously? Uh, you’ve got to be the Giron. Do not work yourself up right now. Do not work yourself up right now. Please don’t work yourself up right now. And what do I mean by that? Listen, yesterday, if you guys didn’t have a chance to see, this graphic was out. Everyone was sharing it, right? How Miami is still on the hunt at 4 and seven. Now, Jacksonville ended up winning. All right, so Jacksonville 7 and four. All right, listen. I want you to think about this. Heading into this weekend, we are two and a half games out of the number one pick and two and a half games out of the playoffs. We are now three games out of the playoffs and three games out of the number one overall pick. Seven and four. I want you to think about this for a second. Okay, seven and four. Jacksonville has a pretty easy schedule. The hardest schedule out of those guys are chasing a seven and four is actually the LA Chargers. But here’s the thing, the LA Chargers beat you. So if you both finish with 10 wins and your divisional record sucks. So I I if if if they beat you, I mean, if they end up with both 10 wins, the Dolphins and the Chargers, somehow the Dolphins, they have the tiebreaker. I mean, and I want you to think about this for a second, there’s six games left, ladies and gentlemen. One of those teams, all right, the Chargers, the Buffalo Bills, the Jacksonville Jaguars. What? One of those teams needs to go at best 500. You literally need one of those teams to win two out of the next six games to have a chance. I mean, what are we really doing here? I do not think I do not think Yeah, Jam McCoy hasn’t played this year yet. Um, he’s been practicing for a while. Um, but I I don’t think he’s playing because he doesn’t want to ruin his draft stock. But Jamon McCoyy’s tape is so good that I mean you go watch his tape from when he was healthy. I mean, he would have played number this year. He would have been number one. But Mansu Delaney for LSU has had a big year. So anyways, my point is you need like a miracle here. You need like think about this. You need to win out. You need to win the next six games and you need one of those three teams to win two out of the next six. And that’s not even including you’ve got the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers in front of you and the Houston Texans who all already have two wins. So you need those teams to go like 500 at best, get three wins, get to nine wins. Then you need Jacksonville or Buffalo or LA to only win two of the final six and you need to win out. Look at what needs to break their way. Like, let’s be real here. Do we think that’s going to happen? Like, raise your hand if you really think all of that is going to happen. Nothing broke the Dolphins way this this week. I I just what what’s the point of even getting caught up in these in the hunt graphics? What’s the point? What do we have like a 1% chance? Shout out to Wool, too. He think he put his hand up. He believes I I I don’t think we have a snowball. It’s funny enough, we’re entering winter. I don’t think we have a snowballs chance in hell. And they did it to themselves. So now a few other factors here. All right, I will say this. This is working in their favor. I mean, they got one thing working in their favor, I guess. When you look at the Miami Dolphins remaining strength of schedule, if you go to Tankathon, the Miami Dolphins are listed as having the fifth easiest remaining strength of schedule in the NFL. We got the Saints, we got the Jets, we got the Steelers, we got the Bengals, then we got the Bucks, and then we got the Patriots. Okay, Saints probably going to have the number one overall pick. We should handle business. Jets, two has never lost to them, but knock on wood, the Patriots broke that streak this year. Pittsburgh, they’re so up and down. They’re so up and down. Cincinnati, they are getting Joe Burrow back this week, apparently. And then Tampa, they just lost Baker Mayfield. Baker Mayfield’s non-throwing arm was in a sling. So, I don’t know if Baker Mayfield’s going to be healthy. They’re six and five. I don’t know what’s going to go on there. And then the Patriots, they might be benching starters at the rate they’re going by the time you face them. But I I’ve said this, I’m not dipping my toes into this pool until they at least get to seven and seven. Miss me with the in the hunt graphics. Miss me with the playoff talk until they’re seven and seven. You got to handle business this week against the Saints. You got to handle business against a bad Jets team. And then yeah, you got to go into Pittsburgh on prime time in potentially cold weather and win in December. Show me a December win on the road in a cold environment in prime time to get you back to seven and seven and let’s talk because that’ll also be if they do that that’ll be five wins in a row. Then I’ll sit here and say, “Okay, they can beat the Bengals.” Even though the Bengals have a terrible defense, they should beat them anyways. Then I’ll sit there and say, “Hey, without with Baker, without Baker, we can beat the Bucks.” But I can’t say that right now. Especially because this team, whether it was under Adam Gase, whether it was under Brian Flores, whether it’s now under Mike McDaniel, is notorious for playing down to their competition. I present to you two weeks ago against in Spain against the Commanders. This team is notorious for playing down to the competition. And I I’ve said this, if you’re going to go on a streak, finish the job. make it worthwhile for playing your way out of a top five pick, which is what we’ve done. We had the fourth overall pick. We’re now at what, 11. Let me double check that what we’re at. No, we’re at 10. So, you worked your way from number four to number 10. make it worth our while. Because I’m going to tell you this much, if you don’t got what it takes to go on a streak, I’d rather have a shot at getting my boy Dante Moore or within range where if the Titans are going to have the number one overall pick, you’re within range to trade up. So, finish the job, man. if you’re going to make a run. But again, I’m not dipping my toe in that Hopian pool till they’re seven and seven cuz it wasn’t, you know, the fact that it was a far more impressive win in terms of the scoreboard and overall domination against the Buffalo Bills than it was against the Washington Commanders. Well, that’s worrisome. So, you can’t afford to play down to competition right now. You got to win decisively. So, yeah. Miss me with the in the hunt graphics. Um, so yesterday I had a little bit of a call from my boy over at Finnhub, Nick Hicks, um, made an interesting comment yesterday, my boy Finnhub on Instagram. If you’re not following, go follow him. He posted uh you know you know old Tua highlights showing how different Tua was at one point. And look at what Nick Hicks said. Let him know my phone number hasn’t changed right there right in front of you. Let them know my phone number hasn’t changed. Man, I’ve been telling you for quite some all of you for who will listen for quite some time now. When you look at the the regression as in what we’re seeing right now in terms of the body, in terms of the mechanics, say what you want about Nick Hicks, whether you like him or don’t, can’t deny the fact that he had Tua in the best physical shape of his life and mechanically and his footwork at his peak in the NFL. the stuff we saw shades of the stuff we saw from Alabama. And you know, I I’ve straight up told you guys that the team has played a role in shutting down 3DQB and performed since he signed that new deal, but also too is just straight up just dipped. Now, there’s a lot of reasons behind that that maybe we’ll get into one day, but he he she straight up, you know, it’s not my business to put out there, but let me just say this. Nick kicks into a tongue of below. I haven’t had communication for quite some time. And so, that’s why that comment rings a little bit more truer, too, for the people that know the actual situation behind the scenes. So, man, number ain’t changed to a hit him up. And while you’re at it, hit up 3DQB. Just saying. Cuz you need to get that footwork. You need to get those mechanics. You need to get everything. Is there any bad blood? Not that we know of. Not that that’s the thing. Not that we know of. It was just one day there’s communication, the next day there isn’t and there hasn’t been since. So, um, you know, and also the team, right, the team said, “Hey, you signed a $212 million deal. You are a liability if you train outside of this facility. We want to oversee your offseason workouts and training. We everything has to run through us for approval now. And I’ve said this under Flores, under McDaniel, there weren’t a lot of fans of Nick Hicks in that building for whatever reason. To the point where I I’ll be honest, I’ll keep it a buck 50 with you. Who do you think came up with that whole jiu-jitsu fall training for Tua to avoid sacks? That was Nick Hicks. And yet the team came out here and straight up took credit for it when that was all Nick Hicks. That was Nick Hick’s suggestion. Nick Hicks put it together. They did him pretty dirty, man. They did Nick Hicks pretty dirty. They didn’t want to give him any props. And another thing that I think goes he doesn’t get enough credit for is think about all the different body types under Flores and McDaniel. The team has asked to be. They’ve asked him to slim down. They’ve asked him to bulk up and add weight and get to almost 230. And Nick was able to balance those weights, but still kept the footwork clean, still kept them in fe physical condition for whatever weight they wanted them at. Think of all the weights the team was telling to fluctuate to and Nick was getting him to that. And Nick was Nick was getting the best play out of him. I’m telling you, man. And Nick is a Nick is Dude, Nick is when Dvin Cook was the best running back in football. Who do you think was behind that? Nick Hicks. James Cook is one of the best running backs in football. Who’s behind that? And remember, James Cook did not have the Dalvin Cook hype coming out. But who’s been behind it? Nick Hicks. I’m telling you, you can say what you want. You can like him or dislike him because of how he act acted on social media. But Nick, you can’t deny that Nick Hicks does a damn good job. The results speak for themselves. And it’s not to his hip issues. It’s all in his feet. Watch his foot feet. And if you want, if you’re one of those people who do think, oh, to that hip injury last year, that hip pointer he had against San Francisco, it’s impacted him. Well, again, remember when he arrived with Nick Hicks? He couldn’t stand. He couldn’t balance on the leg with the bad hip for like more than 5 10 seconds. And look at what Nick got him to. I’m just saying for that big of an investment, the Dolphins didn’t even play it right. The Dolphins should have been encouraging him to go to They should have been bringing Nick Hicks under their banner and into their building and saying, “We’ve got the best physical peak physical shape, the best mechanics, and the best results when he’s working with you. Even when he was working with 3DQB last year, look at how good he was for those six games he came back from after the concussion. Talk about this all the time. Over 1,600 yards, 13 touchdowns, one interception, almost an what is it? 77 completion percentage at like 120 passer rating, man. You know, cuz 3DQB one of the best in the in the world at what they do. It should be encouraged that he works with these people. You should be putting them on the first flight. Especially when you got that much money invested. I don’t know. I don’t know. I do want to take time and shout out the sponsor of today’s video. That of course is Sleeper. This is something I’ve been wanting. I actually wanted to talk about this on the GM video, but I just didn’t have enough time with, you know, that that would have turned into a much longer video. So, um let’s talk about a few things. And Han’s going to be in here. Okay. Um, should the Miami Dolphins extend Devon Han this off seasonason? I’ve already said yes. Get out a year ahead of this. This is why Robert Hunt is no longer a Miami Dolphin. You didn’t get out ahead of it. Now, what’s it going to cost? I think when you look at what it’s going to cost for him, you’re going to be in the range of potentially, you know, I think he’s going to get more than James Cook. Um, you know, I mean, you look at that, he got what, four years, 48 million. That’s only like 12 million a year. I I could see this being a fouryear, $60 million deal. Like I keep telling you guys, he is not just a running back. He is a legitimate weapon. You can line up out of the slot, even on the boundary. I mean, I could see this costing between 15 to$16 million a year. Um, now let’s say it is four years, 60 million. What would the guarantee be of that? Probably like 35 or 40. You’d probably be dealing with like 35 to 40 million of that guaranteed. And I’m I’m in I mean I’d be down to make it 5 years 75. Make the fifth year, you know, a team option if you want, but I think this is realistically where we’re heading right now. And I would and if he has another big year, the market’s just going to go up. Now he might be 17 or 18 million. I I I think like as soon as the clock strikes zero on the season, you should be getting into negotiations with Devon Aan and his Rock Sports representation, Rock Nation Sports, right? rock sports or whatever. I you know I I I just shout out to Pen. She invested in a signed jersey, man. I invested in my you know my my third my our third jersey with him, right? So, you know, um I I don’t know. I I I think you need to just get it done, you know, but let’s get into this because there’s a few things to discuss with it. Um, now I do want to check this out. Devon Aan, he’s one of only three Dolphins to produce consecutive seasons with 800 plus rushing yards. Larry Zanka did it from 70 to 73. And good old Kareem Abdul Jabbar did it from 96 to 98. Han is the first Dolphins player with back-to-back seasons of 900 plus yards rushing since Reggie Bush did it in 2011 and 2012. Hn’s 5 and a half yards rushing average on 470 carries would rank the best all time if he could sustain it. Jim Brown averaged 5.2, Mercury Morris 5.1, Gail Sers, Gil Sers, and Barry Sanders all averaged five yards. heading into the our byee, you know, let’s use before, right? Because he didn’t play and a lot of other guys did play this week. Heading into bye-week, he was number three in rushing yards and number three in receiving yards amongst running backs and he was stacking up the touchdowns. I mean, Han’s been delivering there there there’s no you know he’s one of the few guys that always gets off the bus you know he’s getting off the bus especially in big games big moments we found a guy who doesn’t fold now Barry Jackson talked about a few of these financial things in an article he did last week I want to go over them because he does talk about achan in there but he also talks about two and a Jackson so should two with tongueo return as the unquestioned 20206 starter or al NFL network said tongalo and Mike McDaniel’s futures are likely married likely is the key word here for McDaniel to win enough games to convince owner Steve Ross to keep him another year tungalo almost assuredly needs to play well and that probably would result in McDaniel getting a fifth season and tungalo a seventh if McDaniel’s offense falters and the team loses a lot then McDaniel likely exits and the new coach would figure out whether to make it work with tongue or sustain the cap crushing consequences parting ways with him this upcoming off seasonason. Um, commit these numbers to memory. Tongalo’s 54 million salary next season is guaranteed and his cap hit will jump from 39.1 million to 56.1. Not ideal for a team that’s 11.6 million over next year’s projected cap per over the cap. If they move on from him this season, the Dolphins 2026 cap hit for tongue of Aloa would be 99.2 million if he’s cut before June 1st, 45.2 2 million if he’s traded before June 1st, 67.4 million if he’s cut after June 1st with another 31.8 million on Miami’s 2027 cap, and 13.4 million if he’s traded after June 1st. The view here, unless the opportunity to land a top quarterback suddenly falls in Miami’s lap, then go one more year with Tungalo while drafting a quarterback in the first three rounds next April. While Tungalo hasn’t been very good, he hasn’t been atrocious either. has a higher passer rating than Bon Knicks, Bryce Young, and Trevor Lawrence among others. His 17 touchdown passes topped the totals of Jaylen Herz, Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, and Lawrence. His 68.3 completion percentage is ninth in the league and better than the accuracy rates for Lamar, Love, Herz, Herbert, Rogers, Stafford, and Patrick Mahomes. The 13 imp interceptions combined with unacceptable performances against Indianapolis and Cleveland on top of the durability questions and the limited mobility and the shaky arm strength all suggest he’s likely not the long-term answer. It’s now clear to everyone with eyes that Tua Tanglo must be close to perfect to overcome all of the physical limitations working against him. But even if he’s not Mr. Wright, he might remain Mr. Wright now for 2026. Incidentally, the question, what to do? What do the Miami Dolphins have in Quinn? Users should be on the list, but it’s not on the list because McDaniel, who needs to save his job, said he’s going to play the quarterback that gives him the best chance to win. And Tongo likely would need to unravel over multiple games for you to earn a shot. Should the Dolphins prepare a mega extension for Devon Chan, who likely will seek one heading into the final year of his contract? The answer seems obvious. Yes, barring a major injury or an unexpected regression over the final six weeks. Point of reference might be James Cook’s August extension. See what I’m talking about? With Buffalo, but even that might not be enough to satisfy his Rock Nation representation. Considering he ranks fourth in scrimmage yards, third in rushing yards, and second in yards per carry. The Dolphins have had so many draft misses that they really need to start doing whatever it takes to keep the ones they hit on. HN is the first Dolphin with back-to-back seasons of 900 plus rushing yards since Reggie Bush. Unbelievable. Can Austin Jackson and his health be trusted to give him another year at right tackle? Next Sunday against New Orleans, Jackson seems positioned to return from a toe injury that has sidelined him since the opener. He’s fine and healthy, but the problem is that he has played just one of Miamiy’s last 20 games since last November 4th because of knee and toe injuries. Keep in mind that Jackson is due 9.9 million next season with a $15.8 million cap hit. If the Dolphins decide to part ways, his cap hit would be 13.8 million if the Dolphins release or trade him before June 1st, but just 4.3 million after June 1st. The first inclination here, see how well he plays over the final six games. If he’s mediocre or injured again, Miami drafts a right tackle in the first two rounds in April consider making him a post June 1st cut. There’s no reason to rush into a decision before the draft. So with to tongue, I’ve said this, the only thing that makes sense is trading him. You got to look at a team like the LA Rams. What if they go on a deep playoff run and Stafford retires and they are just picking picking way too far back in the first to get an impact player. Maybe you could try and trade to a tongue of lo to him. I listen I know Flores and him didn’t famously didn’t get along but I mean Kevin Oonnell is the king of reclamation quarterbacks right now with the Minnesota Vikings because of where they are with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, etc., etc. Would they be interested in maybe a trade for to a tongue of Aloa? Right. You know, I think there will be teams open to potentially trading for Tua. Problem is, it’s post June 1st, so you got to get through free agency and you got to get through the draft. Now, what he said um regarding, you know, a mega extension for Hin, yeah, prepare it. Get it going. Now, Austin Jackson, that is something I have talked about quite a bit on this channel. Um, I’m ready to move on. I have, you know, all of you guys know how high I am on Francis Moa and Spencer Fano. I’ve been ready to move on. I I’ve been ready to move on for quite some time. You know, I I’m just he’s injured more than Tua. I mean, we’re having to rely on Kendall Lamb. We’re having to rely this year on Larry Borum. We’ve had to rely on Liam Iikenberg. You just can’t keep doing that. Sorry. Especially with what he’s due next year if you do keep him on the roster. I mean, 9.9 million next season for what if he’s on that roster. Again, none of it’s guaranteed, but still. Then that 15.8 8 capit a that $15.8 million capit cuz he restructured him was absolutely such a terrible move and I knew it was at the beginning. Now Mike McDaniel, he went in front of the podium today and he had some updates and one of them was not particularly good. One of them was good. Let’s talk about them. Um so Darren Waller will return to practice this week. Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller will return to practice this week as he works his way back from the injured reserve. Waller will be designated for return at Wednesday’s practice. Mike McDaniel said Darren’s window will open Wednesday. We’ll integrate him back into things McDaniel said that’s a 21-day practice window McDaniel’s referring to within which Waller can be activated from IR beginning with the New Orleans Saints at home on Sunday. Waller suffered a pec injury in the October 19th loss to the Browns. Um so that’s where he’s been. He’s been phenomenal this year, right? So, um Daryl Beville said, “We respect his abilities. I know Tua loves having him out there. You know, he’s a big target, big catch radius. The guy can run as soon as he’s back full speed, ready to go. Uh we’ll be able to use that skill set.” Uh offensive lineman Andrew Meyer, the backup center. It looks like he’s going to be coming back very, very soon. Um he’s going to could return soon to practice, but there’s no specific date. Um, remember he was hurt in training camp. Um, McDaniel said Jason Sanders is doing a great job getting healthy and we’re getting close to that moment, but not quite not quite there. Um, so Riley Patterson will continue in his place. Now look at this. Dolphins, the Dolphins coach said he has no timeline on James Daniels who suffered a pec injury three plays into the season. McDaniel said he doesn’t know if Daniels will return this season, which has six games left. The Dolphins, they had a light tuneup practice Monday as they returned from by-week. Waller was not yet participating. The two players on the active roster. Also not seeing Dune drills were Bradley Chub and Jaylen Wadd. Um but Chub um he played in the last week in Madrid through a foot ailment was seen working out on the side at practice. Look at this man. James Daniels, are you kidding me? Like I want you to think about this. See, we praise Chris Greer for Hey man, Russell Douglas, Jack Jones, you know, you’re drafting a Jason Marshall, Dante Trader, they’re working out obviously. So, Kenneth Grant looks like he’s turning the corner. Jonah’s turning a big corner, etc., etc. But then you got stuff like this, man. Liam Iikenberg, you brought Liam Iikenberg back when you knew he had chronic injuries. Like, you brought him back. And the word I’ve heard, notice how Liam Iikenberg wasn’t mentioned anywhere. The word I’ve heard is not to expect Liamenberg back. You brought this guy back with chronic injuries and ailments and you can’t even use him. Now look at James Daniels. I mean, I want you to think about this. Darren Waller’s 21 days been open and he had a pec injury. You can’t tell me that James Daniels did not tear his pack because he had a pec injury, too. Remember, there ain’t no way he didn’t injure his pack. I don’t know what you try to tell me. And I don’t care what you try to tell me. He he tooured it. It feels like they got ahead in themselves, told us he didn’t, did further evaluation and found out, oh crap, he tore his peek. And the way his contract is structured, he has no guaranteed money next year. If you look at how James Daniel’s contract was structured, it was structured for him to basically renegotiate in the offseason to get guaranteed money based on his play. And the guy’s not going to be able to end up playing at all. And now, does guard become a pressing need in the first two days of the draft because of all of this? You know, I’ve said this. I think Penn State stud Vegaone, I think he’s going to go in the first round. Does Emanuel Pregnon become all of a sudden someone you’re you’re looking at? you know, Jaden Roberts, Chase Basantis, Charles Agusha, Brian Parker, you know, Alex Burmeer. Did one of these guys all of a sudden DJ Campbell, Kaylin Rutlitch, do all of a sudden one of these guys become one of the dudes you’re targeting because you just can’t get the guard position right? I don’t know. You know what’s funny too is James Daniels had been relatively healthy beside that injury he had last year in Pittsburgh. He had been relatively healthy his whole career and now look and you know now we’re in a position where I’ve told you I want to move off Austin Jackson where it doesn’t look like James Daniels is going to work out. We’re in a position where you might head into this off seasonason needing a new starting right tackle and a new starting right guard and and remember could have been you could have at least solved one of those by just having Joan at his natural spot but they wanted to make it difficult on themselves. You know, it’d be one thing if you had the left tackle position figured out, center figured out, and at least one position, right guard figured out with Jonah. We got nothing on the right side figured out. And I don’t know how you expect to win in December and how you expect to win in the playoffs with this kind of patchwork offensive line. You got to have like generational players littered throughout the rest of your offensive positions to stand a chance. Guys, smash the like button, subscribe if you are new. 1. Shedeur's performance was a step in the right direction and that's all you can really expect out of him at this point in his career. You want to see progress and that's what we saw; wasn't perfect but was better. And I'm fully aware the Raiders are a bad team, but the people saying "calm down, he played the Raiders" would be the same people saying "I told you so" if he stunk it up against them. People can't have it both ways. Taking victory laps after he came off the bench in the 3rd quarter against the Ravens with limited practice reps was premature.

  2. Reason. I TOTALLY respect your views. 90% of em I agree with. But there ain’t now way you can pay a tiny Rb 15 mil a year. Not doable. Especially for a team that’s in a rebuild

  3. When has this team ever tried to keep a good RB? We let Lamar Miller go, traded Ajayi for peanuts, let Daveon Williams stroll into KC and score three touchdowns in the Superbowl (after Pats), Kenyan Drake was sent out like they had an allergic reaction. Who knows but the combo of OG and Achane should be special so overpaying Achane for a couple years might be worth it.

  4. And the Hanson Brothers are notorious for whoopin' that ass. Playoffs don't even matter to me if I know we got a super young D line that reminds me of the Bowens/Gardner days.

That's such a successful season to me. Gives us a real chance moving forward.
