Doc Rivers Postgame Press Conference | 11.24.25

just the physicality we’ve seen over the last couple games. Doesn’t feel like you guys have been able to match it. No, we really haven’t. Um, you know, it’s I think it’s as much of an offensive problem though as it is a defensive problem. Uh, I think we’re really struggling scoring. They’re taking Ryan out of it. Uh, we don’t have the ability right now to get into anything else when he doesn’t have it. And, you know, that’s what I was doing with the coaches. We got to figure it out like the coaches do. We got to we got to take the burden off of them and try to make it easier for them. I was just going to say offensively is that just ball like I don’t even I don’t even know what what are the answers you’re coming clearly ball movement because I think right now we’re easier to guard. We’re trying to run too many pick and rolls. We’re trying we don’t get off the ball. Um so you know we’re thinking about it. We know what we need to do. We just got to be able to execute it. Brian, what were they doing to kind of just pressuring them? Same thing as they did. You know, you could predict that the league is copycat. After the night, the other night, I I told our coaches, you know, Ryan’s next couple games, they’re going to trap him and pressure him and try to speed him up uh cuz they know he’s really we don’t have a lot of ball handling uh out there on the floor. We don’t have a lot of ball on the team in that way. And so, we have to figure that out as far as moving, running some middle action with our bigs, handling, doing DHO’s. Thought we had some success in the other night and tonight when we did that. Bobby was phenomenal doing it and we got to teach our other bigs how to do it as well. Jeremy Grant 35 points went to the free throw line 19 times. Why how did he give you guys so much trouble? Just beating us off the dribble, being more physical. I mean, there were times I thought body position, uh, we were pretty good, but we’re getting killed every night at the free throw line. Every night. Um, and it’s us. It’s not the refs. It’s us. We got to figure out a way of playing defense better uh without fouling and we got to figure out a way of getting to the foul line ourselves. Uh you mentioned Bobby being phenomenal um today obviously he was kind of on fire but he only played 27 minutes sat a long time in the third quarter. How do you balance like riding that hot hand while also trying to let your starters find a groove even when they’re Well, it’s a tough one and and you know it’s kind of misleading because we took him out at the end so he probably would have played those minutes as well. Uh but he had a great stretch for us but Bobby and long stretch a struggle as well. So you know 30 minutes is usually like his number. I think if wasn’t a blowout he probably would have played that. So uh it’s easy to look at numbers and say he should have played that. But honestly tonight uh I thought he played the right stretch of minutes. You know just Gary Harris the way I think he’s been playing great. Yeah he’s playing great uh defensively. Uh he just does all the little things that we need him to do. He’s a smart basketball player. Um he’s also one of the few guys that has the ability to start our offense if Ryan doesn’t have the ball. You know, I thought he did a good job today. Several times he ran and grabbed it, started. You know, he’s played the position a little bit, so he can do that. Uh Andre and Jericho feel like two guys that can help with the physicality defensively, but offensively they are more limited. Yeah. How do you try to maybe find minutes for them or or what have you seen out of this? It’s tough. You know, tonight was a tough night because of Klingan. And the reason we wanted to resist those two is because it allows Klingan to play one of those two and he just sits in the paint. You know, as you saw, there were 10 times and no, we didn’t even know who was guarding uh or Andre. This guy wasn’t even in the picture. and we work with him to go to DHO’s to go to different actions. I don’t think he did a great job of that tonight. Uh but that’s a work in progress. We just got to keep working. And Jericho just needs to be a pick setter, you know. Uh he rim ran three times tonight and I said, “Why would you ever do that?” Like go find the ball, set solid picks, let our guards go downhill and make plays. Thanks, guys.

  1. Let’s be honest with ourselves, this team doesn’t have enough scoring firepower without Giannis. I can’t wait til Giannis and Kevin Porter Jr come back!

  2. WE HAVE NO IDENTITY WITHOUT GIANNIS‼️ AJ just doing cardio Gary Trent might be gambling defense can’t stop a turtle , the refs don’t make it no better don’t get me started on rebounding 🤦🏾‍♂️

  3. Doc, please set up our offense with horns action like you did with the clippers and bucks last season, i know it will slow our offense but we are not gonna make stupid turnovers and wasted positions like we did in last 5 games without giannis

  4. Bros answer to the first question was literally what he’s supposed to be doing!! “We gotta take the burden off them and make it easier for them”
    Genius!!
    Fire him already!!!

  5. Doc needs to be fired, no schemes, no plans, no tactics, how can Tiago Splitter outcoach Doc?

How can you let Bobby get cold in the 3rd quarter before letting him back in? No help for Rollins. Doc is completely out of touch

  6. No one is creating offense with the speed, handling, or finishing ability of stars in this league. The offense is dog water. And then defensively you guys are so jumpy and weird. Try to go five possessions on defense straight without fouling someone for once

  7. I don’t get it why people don’t see that this disaster that is happening to the bucks go way past Giannis. this losing streak and poor defense and offense, started before he was injured, it’s obvious that Doc rivers. has all but lost his team, the players are not going to play for him, even when Giannis. Returns , it doesn’t matter, it’s over, plain and simple.

  8. In most jobs people resign when they can't meet expectations. Don't you have any shame to do that? Horrid record for 3 YEARS UNDER GIANNIS and Dame. Our team used to be a top 5 defense every year. Now it's a bottom 5 defense. We have the defensive pieces, you are just terrible and incapable of putting them together. Idk if they could be a top 5 defense but they certainly aren't a bottom 5 defense. Embarrassing. Should be fired on the spot

  9. Doc Rivers has no clue! The reason they're having such a hard time on offense is that there are no pick and rolls and no cutting to the basket. Everyone stands around the perimeter which makes passing to each other very, very difficult when opponents are sticking to our players. We get no OR because no one is cutting to the basket – everyone is standing on the perimeter. Doc has no fucking clue!

  10. The bucks are losing games that they should be winning, even without Giannis. the 76ers didn’t have Joel embidd. Kelly obrue. that’s two of their starters, blazers have jrue Holliday. Lakers were without LeBron. and couple of other starters. The spurs don’t have Wembanyama. and they have won a couple of games with out him, so what about that?

  11. I’m tired of the excuses, if they are not contributing and being more of a negative versus positive, then have a seat on the bench! We have pieces but those pieces need to be Men and not cowering in the moment! Ajax shoot or you have to sit down, Coffey shoot or you’re not getting any PT, Harris shoot or sit down, Walls of Jericho shoot or have a seat, don’t show yourself shooting in the off-season if you’re not going to shoot! AJG shoot and work on those slow feet, seems like you’re in quicksand on defense, getting beat over and over again! I don’t want to see you clapping when you get beat and foul because you got beat, nothing to celebrate there! Bobby keep shooting but work on those slow feet on defense, consistently getting beat to the rim!

Doc Rivers need better subs and more accountability for terrible contributions, stop leaving them on the floor, sit them down!

  12. Yeah, there's no Giannis, KJP, or Prince, but the Trailblazers were also missing a bunch of key players (as well as their head coach), this was the second night of a back to back for them, and were playing in Milwaukee. Getting blown out like that was pathetic.

  13. What was the freaking point in letting Sims start ? Doc needs to play his bench more.. Bobby Portis should’ve started yesterday for one.. and what’s the point in having Amir Coffey on the team if you not gone let him play Doc ?? Damn man !!

  14. Coach the Zone Defense is not working at all, , where is the great defense you had last year, the formula that worked well since last year is
having a player being agressive on the opposite team guard pushing the ball without fouling to bother the offense to the max (which Ajax did 1st quarter today and that s gave Blazers a lot of problems) ,

then have at least 3 really good defenders on the floor at all times (the best defenders are Rollins, Kuz, Ajax, Harris) , Sims as a big was in many best Bucks defensive teams last year and can produce he just need to play more and guidance from other experienced players.

Gary Trent last year was very good in close defense too last year I dont know why he is not doing it as much that year. You have to keep doing and using whats working great.

Rollins was defending really well too in close defense last year he is not doing it as much that year, why ??

Why not keeping doing what s working great , you guys dont need no zone , zone or no zone it s all about putting pressure and being closer, more agressive without fouling, and the zone got many players lost too often on the court.

And lastly Cole Anthony and Rollins needs to release that ball, Move that ball, Passing and Ball Movement since last years has been what made Bucks won
    most of their games.

Be Agressive on the court !! On Defends and rebounds and this team will win.

Lastly, Bucks have good players, it s all about using the strengths of each players, put them on the best conditiions, play on their strength, serve each players like they like to be served, play faster , more ball movement, more screens for Rollins ect….

Come n Guys you got this

  15. Fire Horst!!!the guy messed this team up financially. Team still has to pay dame in two years time. Over paid turner!! No draft capitals. Team is average even with GA on the floor.

    Fire Horst!!!

  16. I knew before the season even started that this team running the same I call stagnant stand around 3pt missing offense was going to be the problem. Too predictable, can't score, no attacking or constant cutting moving to make the defense work. Teams don't even sweat against us because they don't have to do much at all. Just stand in a spot watching Bucks pass around the perimeter until they throw up their 1 shot and done.. they get the rebound and go down the court playing simple smart basketball and get whatever they want easy ..But I personally am glad Doc is getting exposed with Giannis out .. Can't hide anymore pal..😂

  17. The reality with the Milwaukee Bucks is that it has nothing to do with the coach or the players. They are missing 2 players. Antetokounmpo and Kevin Porter Jr. One is a superstar and the other is a star. Be patient, they are coming back.
