A desperate OEL-like trade from Allvin/Rutherford incoming?
What a sad way for Rutherford’s hall of fame career to fizzle out. I generally like him but every time I think about Marcus Pettersson for a first I kind of get mad.
Here’s some quantum cope for you: because of how over-leveraged and inflexible we are, it is hard for them to make the kind of absurd trade we might expect in this situation. They have limited draft capital, a low quality roster, and many players locked into deals with NMCs or simply undesirable AAVs. They are also capped out. While a disaster class may be incoming, I’m hopeful that we have a Mr. Burns-style “Three Stooges effect” where all the deadly maladies interfere with each other, resulting in roster inertia.
E: tell a joke, get a bunch of “well actuallys.”

This is legit the most fragile fanbase ever.
People’s opinions here and the narrative they built around the management, coaches, players etc literally change with the standings.
The only short term moves they made were for Z and Lindholm, who they wanted to keep. They’ve hung on to most of our draft picks since and I haven’t seen them make a panic move besides maybe JT, but they didn’t have much of a choice there.

That ship saled when they picked up Kane. Like Sat said, it’s what desperate teams do
The scary thing is instead of letting this team fall to the bottom of the standings and stay there they are going to trade away picks to try and push for a playoff spot.
I think I’m done watching this team for the season. This is getting the team nowhere
