  3. I didnā€™t think we played bad last night. NJ got some weird bounces. I wish we had someone who can throw a punch. Iā€™m so tired of watching us get punked.

  5. At least with last nightā€™s loss, we looked competitive and couldā€™ve easily won the game. Silver linings..

    I know people throw around the term sophomore slump and itā€™s a real thing, but Iā€™m shocked at how Kasper looks this year after a really good preseason. He looks like a different player, and I wonder how much of it has to do with confidence. Heā€™s one of ~6 players with a solidly negative net impact based on analytics (others being Hamonic, ASP, AlJo, Soda, and Compher). ASP and AlJo look like theyā€™ve improved after a rocky start, but Kasper seems to be struggling to find his footing.

  11. I talked about how the Rangers were gifted so many key pieces a few days ago but NJ has had some crazy lotto luck. In a 6 year span they went 5th to 1st, 3rd to 1st, and 5th to 2nd. Granted they did fall from 3rd to 4th once, but jumping up to 1st overall twice in 3 years is wild

  12. The third goal late in the first felt like a big letdown. I know we could have still one it but always climbing uphill was rough. I was thinking ā€œjust get out of the periodā€ when it was 2-1 but sure enough another went in. Must be Toddā€™s game management talk getting in my head.

    NJ and their fans were clearly geeked up for that game unless they just play like that all the time. Itā€™s funny to me that Hughes charged Ras to initiate that whole thing but at this point itā€™s gone beyond. I hope we come out strong the next time we play them in March.

  14. JVR best overall game so far, so that’s cool. I was pretty excited to get him for a 4th line pp specialist but so far it hasn’t worked out. Last night’s game he had a bit of his magic going on and you could see he was feeling it.

    The loss was hard fought, and in general the boys can hold their heads high.Ā  I am looking forward to seeing how they respond tomorrow.Ā  In the past several years, they have folded after a tough loss and let it turn into a skid.Ā  I am hoping for a blood in the water response, where they absolutely whale on the sad ass Preds.Ā  That will feel like turning a mental resilience corner.Ā  Ā 

  17. I was watching the post game interview, its a little odd to me how shoddy the vistor locker rooms are in these multi million dollar arenas. Is it part of the game to keep them crappy and sparce like psychological warfare. I wonder what the specs are from like the players association on minimum requirements and what arenas is the worst of the worst?

  18. I don’t know if I want to see the side bar change unless its a rookies first goal being a GWG against like the Sens/Avs/Hawks. Its too beautiful, every time I see it the warmth of the chilly beautiful game ignites in my heart. It helps me forget this game was sold to gambling apps that steal thousands per customer.

  19. Slept through the third but watched some highlights and I feel like it was one of the scrappiest games Iā€™ve seen the redwings play in a while. Hopefully they keep that going forward.

    Also why are the devils fan so annoying? I decided to take a look on twitter and they are just the worst.

  20. We’ve been talking about trading for a top 4 LD and sliding Chiarot down to the 3rd pair. With how our D has looked (and props to Chiarot for not being the issue) I think adding a 3rd pair RD could be a more realistic and just as effective move. They could play with AlJo and maybe add minutes on nights ASP is off. It would push JBD and Hamonic to the press box.

    Rasmus Andersson is the top player available but i dont see a fit considering the cost, future fit, contract, and his apparent desire to go to Vegas or at least a contender. Even though they paid a premium to acquire him last year, I think the Leafs would consider moving Brandon Carlo as he hasn’t worked out. Chicago has a logjam of young D fighting for ice time, and if they fall out of playoff contention Connor Murphy as a pending UFA would be an easy player to moveĀ 

  21. What is actually happening with Kasper? 3 points in 22 games? Call a spade a spade, that is absolutely terrible and not even 4th line production. Also, a team worse -11. He turned himself into another Copp/Compher that just does cardio on the ice. So odd considering how strong he finished last year and was Austria’s MVP at the worlds. Like he seriously needs to get going here, he has even less points than his tenure under defensive system Lalonde where he played 3rd/4th line.

  27. I hope the production team changes their tactic of not showing conflict. It’s hockey and team fights or issues is part of the game.Ā

  28. Jonas Siegenthaler is a whiny bitch ass bottom shelf wannabe tough guy who hides behind blindside hits on unsuspecting players with more talent than he has in a finger all because it’s the only way he can stay relevant in the NHL since he can’t score points and compete head on. That is all.

Going through the hockey sub threads and theyā€™re still talking about the boarding call starting all the shenanigans, did they not see that it was shoulder to shoulder and if heā€™d kept his feet it would have been a nothing hit? Unfortunate result but it was called a penalty and then they fought over it, how soft are their fans to still be whining about it?

  32. Markstrom is the hockey equivalent of the batter that waits to try and charge the mound until his teammates are out there to hold him back. Whiner his entire career
