Indianapolis Colts’ Nick Cross: You Can Notice a Difference with Mooney Ward and Sauce Gardner

first game in a while with with Mooney out there. Um what was it like just getting him back in the fold and can you tell the difference when he’s out there as opposed when he’s not? Man, yeah, having Mooney out there. Um great for the team. Uh very sticky in man coverage. Um great great player to have out there. Someone who I enjoy playing with and you can definitely tell a difference when you know he’s out there with sauce and you know it’s it it shows the way we can lock receivers down. And then one quick followup, he mentioned uh the difference between, you know, a lot of these games, especially playing like high level teams is finishing. So in your mind, how do you think you all can grow in that aspect of the game? Because he was saying that’s the next step for this unit. Um I think we just go out there, continue to play at a high level. Um you know, playing 96 snaps, a lot of snaps, but um you know, got to continue to be consistent um through throughout the whole thing. So, it’s it that game on Sunday was a um a playofflike game, you know, environment and everything. And, you know, I feel like it it gives our team good experience moving forward. Joel, what did you uh what did you maybe learn from that game about the way teams are going to kind of try to attack you and you’ve got sauce and and Mooney out there? I mean I mean I think they’re just going to go out there and try to you know continue to I mean teams are going to get their playmakers the ball. Um they’re going to try to you know run a lot of crossers and run people up and down the field and you know at the end of the day we got to continue to do our job and play at a high level. I’m curious when you play 95 snaps it’s obviously a big big number. Uh do you feel it even more on a Monday in terms of what a normal game or is it about the same? I mean yeah you feel it. I mean, it’s, you know, we played 95 snaps. That’s two games of football. Um, so, you know, you going to feel it the next day. Adrenaline wears off and, you know, you going to feel a little bit, but, you know, come in, get some treatment, um, get some sleep and, you know, get yourself ready. Try to get ready for next week.
