Loss vs Portland could mean elimination from the Cup. Effectively have to win against Portland and the Nuggets to guarantee finishing first and qualification. The scenarios for the next game –

For the Spurs, it’s just win and in. For Portland it’s also win and in, but the Nuggets need the Spurs to win against Portland and then need to beat the Spurs in order to clinch the Group win.

Personally I think it’s unlikely that a 2-2 team will advance to the knockout stage (especially with Groups A and B both having two 2-0 teams currently), but you never know. Houston and GSW are already mathematically eliminated from winning Group C outright

  2. Am I the only one having a hard time caring about the cup? Maybe im just old but this is lame imo

  3. Not really all that concerned about the NBA Cup, but a win is a win. Gotta cash them on fringe playoff teams cause it’s unlikely we’ll get them from better teams.

  4. I don’t see it happening, but if this current roster can find a way to advance and a couple of the injured guys come back to play in the KO rounds, that would be great.

  5. We should have won against GSW. Really fucked up there.

We can beat Portland, but we have so many crucial injuries to make it now a task.

Denver was already difficult fully healthy, but with injuries it’s basically impossible. Our only hope is that their roster underrates us and plays half-assed like 2 years ago. Jokic can put up 50-15-15, but alone he can’t win.

  6. Don’t care about this at all I just wanna win every game we play lol. A couple more losses and I’ll be staring at the injured players like the rock in the 90s

  7. Dont care about the cup. I just want to win all the wins we can while the wemby castle and harper is out.

  8. Wait, if I’m reading this correctly:

Had the Spurs beaten the Warriors in the Cup Game, I think all we’d need is to beat Portland and we win the group? Not sure cuz Denver and SAS could both be 3-1, and maybe the tiebreaker is who won between the two.

  9. Honestly its probably best for us long term to not make the cup. It’ll give us 9 days off to get healthy and focus on the real prize the post season
