The Bucks, who have lost five straight, look like one of the worst teams without Giannis Antetokounmpo on the court. – esidery

  1. I just hope when kpj and Giannis comeback we go on a streak. Because things look bad without them

  2. I mean everyone on the roster is basically picked to try and compliment him as much as possible. Barely anyone outside of Giannis, KPJ, and now Rollins can really do anything with the ball on their own. We are also smaller in general since we have prioritized shooting over everything else. And we have one of the worst coaches in the league.

  3. The Bucks should be harassing New Orleans every day, Herb Jones and/or Trey Murphy have to be the reinforcements whatever. A lot of seriousness is needed in those positions.

  4. So now we’re also pushing the narrative we all are sick of? Who the heck is Evan Sidery and explain how he knows that Giannis is having an “ongoing evaluation period?” Who also doesn’t think once we get GA, KPJ and hopefully TP back, the ship will be able to right itself? We have a group that hasn’t played many minutes together, the ones that have are also learning a new system, on top of key injuries. It’s not really brain surgery. Nobody likes a losing streak but save this content for much further into the season if the ship is still sinking.

  5. We kinda knew that though, Giannis being Giannis (and healthy) and some of the other guys like KPJ ascending into bigger roles this year that was going to be their contending formula. They’ve had less than a half with that formula.

The simple equation though was the Bucks were only going to go as far as Giannis could take them. If he plays well, they contend, him staying is a win/win so he stays. If he doesn’t play well or is not healthy, they don’t play well, parting ways is a lose/lose for both so again he stays.

When will the media accept that good or bad, Milwaukee and Giannis are a package deal.

  6. As long as the team is healthy for the playoffs we will be a team with a chance. We aren’t a juggernaut. We aren’t favorites. If you convinced yourself otherwise, you haven’t been paying attention.

  7. The roster is basically built to maximize giannis and it’s built to work around him with shooters. If he’s out everything falls apart. It is what it is but it’s always a risk with the roster of role players to go with him

  8. While this team is very much an enhanced 09 magic, the problem is that we have no identity OUTSIDE of giannis. And even when he does play, theres no real structure besides “pass Giannis the ball and wait”.

Even without giannis, we should be beating an injured hornets and a trailblazers team missing key players on a b2b road trip. But because our coaching is so inept, we will continue to lose games, hoping that giannis will somehow manage to make us contenders. Which wont happen.

    All in all, fire doc.

  9. So this team is not a top tier team, I think we all accept that this year. But from tier 2 and below, how many other teams would do better than us if their 1st and 3rd best (and could argue 1st and 2nd most important) players went down for this long?

  10. Could Giannis do the coolest thing ever, and get traded, give us a mother load of picks (our picks back) opt out in 2 years and come back?

  11. You don’t go from “one of the worst teams in the league” to a realistic title contender by adding Giannis back into the mix. He’s great. But not that great.

I fear the time has come.

  12. The Bucks’ offense is built around Giannis, and they haven’t established a defensive identity yet. It is not surprising that they’re terrible without Giannis. I have hopes that this team can get healthy and establish a defensive scheme, but in the meantime it’s going to be rough.

  13. What is this article saying? A period of observation from Giannis himself? Meaning if the next month or two don’t go well, he’s requesting a trade at the All-Star break? What does this mean

  14. I know it’s not the same exactly but last year the Pacers were 16-18 through December.

There’s still time to turn it around. It’s hard to watch right now for sure.

  15. If I’m Giannis I’m looking at this team wondering why the hell I would stick around. we’ve gotten progressively worse over the last 3 years and it’s not because of #34

  16. Sucks – we’re not built to make a deep run this year dude. Gotta do something before the deadline IMO.

  17. That 76ers O.T. game was a demoralizing loss. I feel like in that Portland game yesterday, the Bucks were getting totally shafted by the referees. One statline I saw a few minutes into the 4th quarter, I think, was…

23/31 FT Made by Portland (by that point)
6/11 FT Made by Milwaukee (by that same point)

Those were even END Totals either for each…

Too many times did it seem like once it got into the 3rd Quarter. The way the game was being called it to me (imho) really did seem like the Refs totally changed how they were calling fouls and which team got the benefit it seemed like everytime the Refs blew their whistle on a call it was against the Bucks for a ton of very ticky-tacky B.S. minor physical interaction it seemed like now when one did it they didnt get callee for the foul (the Blazers), yet all of a sudden if the other team even brushed against the other team (the Bucks) foul call.

A great example is the referee’s went from not calling Jeremy Grant B.S. early on at the start. Like Grant cradling the ball while driving barreling through the center lane purposely slamming into any Bucks defender that Grant could. Though as Grant drove wildly in trying to ¿dunk? or ¿lay-up? Most likely looking for a bailout foul call. Whixh Keremy Grant tried that move q bumch of times during the start of the game, and the Refs never called any or at least MOST of Grant’s B.S. chaotic, wildly uncontrolled, and potentially dangerous drives. During the most of the 1st and 2nd quarters, the referees barely called ANY fouls on either team. It was like pulling teeth to get any of the Refs to blow their damned whistle for a foul on the play. Plus, during most of the 2nd quarter was when Bobby Portis Jr. was continuing his shooting streak from that previous Piston’s game. Where in Bobby had played really well in that game, even shooting 4/4 from deep! Bobby continued his hot shooting streak when he entered the game in that 2nd quarter against the Blazers. Due to Bobby’s hot shooting and the back and forth faster pace of play, the Refs really weren’t needing to call much of anything yet. Well, at least they weren’t yet calling a ton of B.S. fouls on repeat or had yet to show seeming favoritism(Blazers) towards one team yet either.

But then the 3rd Quarter happened and IDK what those Blazer’s players or Portland’s Coaching Staff said to the Refs at Halftime but as soon as the 3rd start Jeremy Grant again started doing his unbound driving in with total reckless abandonment for his or his opponent safety. Whistle, whistle, whistle very touch foul the Buck’s would make or that the Blazers would get GENEROUS calls to utter BULLCRAP calls. Like I swear those Refs singled out GTJ his 3rd foul Toumera hooked, grabbed and then YANKED GTJ’s arm foul on GTJ like even he was like WTF AJ Green playing solid defense on either (again) Toumera or C.Love dribbling into the lane they do a half pivot spin flailing one of their arms back in a way were they elbowed AJ right in the face as he was sliding to his side playing tight defense on him. The hit literally knocked AJ clean down blatant offensive foul. AJ stumbles back up cover a perimeter 3pt shoot who rotated toward him got screened back on Toumera or C.Love and AJ gets calls for an EGREGIOUS bailout call where-in it didn’t even look like AJ touched him.

The Blazers flopping SO much and the Refs this season have had a hard time differentiating between legit and toward conjob flopping for a bailout call total over exaggerated acting B.S. Let me just drive in and flail my arms while I toss the ball at hoop. Awful call totally, 2 shots absolutely not, bare minimum on the floor arguable. At least not another egregious gimme favoritism B.S. call… Nope, foul was in the act. The player shoots 2…

I’d have been fine with Portland beating us by shooting a season high amount of attempted 3ptrs and making a season high amount of them. As that wasn’t Portland’s normal play style and if shooting damn near almost 50 attempts shooting 3pt FGs. While making a good enough amount of them to best us. That would have been totally fine by me, as it would have been more of a fluke win by them than anything.

What I would have also been fine with is Ryan Rollins & GTJ playing poorly, having an off shooting, or overall playing night. Maybe their minds were on Thanksgiving that’s coming up really soon or the two away games and flying to Miami to play the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Then, after that, the Miami Heat game, the Bucks’ fly over, and play on Friday in NYC against the Knicks playing away in both. As well as both being the last group stage games for the NBA Cup…Mind Preoccupied Fine! DOCs bad coaching rearing its uglyhead, why not. Doc totally should have at least kept playing Bobby into the 3rd quarter while his overall play and shooting from 3 was still hot. Even just keeping with the 2nd Unit from the 2nd quarter into 3rd would have probably been the Bucks best bet. As that 2nd Unit group of guys had a really good rhythm going together by then and were really flowing and their overall play was looking good.

Back to reality and by the very end, I was only wishing that the game would have had a 5th quarter with how well the Bucks came back and played and how poorly the Blazers players played. A bunch of guys seemingly finally found their groove and 3pt shot! Others drove the ball inside, learning what, and how to use a pump fake. Doc’s best move was putting Kuz back into the 4th, though the end was already in sight. If only the Bucks would’ve hit a couple more 3s at the end to make the game a bit more spicy bad/good. Doc Bad Coach… Playing deep Ajax deep into the 4th. Playing Ajax over Amir Coffey too sacrilege. It’s just a bad look. And for how Ajax looked during his play toward the end when the game was seemingly out of reach. Ajax gave off this sense of indifference (imo) while he also played with a sort of melancholy. I dont care anymore kinda attitude. Constantly passing up, taking an initially open look 3 pt shot, instead swinging it to.a better shoot, their covered tighted in the corner they pass it back. Once it Ajax gets it swung back again to him to be annoyed and for Ajax to then decide to again back out from shooting the mostly open 3pt shot again this time though instead dribbling into coverage and getting instantly trapped. Looking panicked, discombobulated, totally annoyed, and frustrated on what he should next. So Ajax AGAIN passes the rock but now with only 3 second left on the shot clock that same corner shooter who is defended tightly. Who they now have to put up a pray as a bailout…

Please come back ASAP Giannis and KPJ….. Pretty Please!!!

  18. I mean the Pacers are 2-16. They are way better than we are without GA. This team is really built around him and there just aren’t enough creators with him and KPJ out.

  19. “One of the worst teams….”

Without Giannis, KPJ and Prince, Bucks are worst team in the NBA.

Portland without 6 of their 10 best players, on back to back and on Bucks home court outclassed them.

  20. Last year, there was a team that started 6-10 and even fell to 9-14 due to some major early season injuries. Guess what? They got healthy and came within a single game of winning it all. Giannis and KPJ are due back soon. Relax.
