Is it now time to start getting excited about Sebastian Walcott?

6 prospect in MLB ready?

I think 2027 is more realistic.
probably september call up. he hasn’t played above AA. he likely starts the year in AAA, maybe with some spring ball. but doubt he jumps from AA -> MLB at 19
No, give him another year.
I go to the Rough Riders games a lot, he’s definitely good from what I’ve seen, not sure if he’s MLB ready quite yet tho, but man is there potential for sure.
Not yet. I think later in 2026
Maybe.
I was just talking to my buddy about this yesterday or maybe there’s a play to be made for Murakami? Exp with Garcia gone?
I kind of think we are giving Jung another chance this year and if he doesn’t improve then we will non-tender him. At that point seager moves to third and Walcott will come up for the 2027 season. If Jung improves then it’s probably Seager to first or dh considering Joc will be gone by then too. Walcott just isn’t ready yet and I would hate to see us rush him up here like we have with some of the other exciting young guys.
Give Walcott another year, at least. He just doesn’t have as high of a floor as players like Profar, Trout, Harper, or Soto because of his plate discipline, IMO. Although to Walcott’s credit, he has cut down on his K% with each promotion, which is impressive on its own for a 19 year old.
He was shut down in the AZ fall league due to arm fatigue. He is supposed to be reevaluated before the ‘26 season starts. I wouldn’t be getting too excited yet.
Yes, once they call him up after Seager is traded at the deadline. Pray for Seager to have a monster season, so we can get decent return.
He is not ready. Needs to adjust a couple things before being called up end of 26/start of 27. Still very young and a couple tweaks and he’s MVP level in a couple years
I won’t be excited until @TepidP tells me to be.
Going to miss seeing him in Frisco. He’s still so young and has plenty of time to get better. No need to rush it this year. Maybe we can start seeing him in 2027
