Philadelphia 76ers Rumors On TRADING Joel Embiid & Paul George + Sixers News On Tyrese Maxey

It’s mailbag time here on the show. Taking your questions, hot takes, opinions, a whole lot more from our subscribers, from our real ones. Before we get into all of your questions, of course, we want to keep you guys updated on the latest going on with Philadelphia. Here is their injury report for tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic. A surprise addition is Paul George, who was listed as probable yesterday coming off that game against Miami on Sunday. Thought there was no chance he wasn’t going to play, but all these guys are out. Paul George will not play tonight with an ankle injury. Really coming out of nowhere, but I shouldn’t be surprised given his injury history, the way the Sixers manage injuries. Also no MB tonight. Eighth eighth straight game he will miss. Edge come out for her second consecutive game with a calf injury. Kelly Ubé out at least another week with a knee injury. Adona out with an ankle. Could return on Friday against the Brooklyn Nets. All right, so let’s get started now with Yo Prankster Gaming 6721. Will PG finish the season as a Sixer? And there was a lot of Paul George talk here on today’s show that we will get to. So obviously talking about will the sectors trade Paul George? Will they not? Look, my prediction, I do think Paul George will stay with Philadelphia at least the entirety of this regular season. I think it’s just a little bit too complicated to find a trade with Paula George during the season given again the injury history, the age, and of course the contract. right now. The farther you get along in a player’s contract like Paul George here with a player on a bad deal, the easier it becomes to trade them because they have less years on that bad deal. But to find a team who’s going to take this next three years of Paul George where he’ll be making 56 plus million dollars in 2027 2028 where he will be 37 years old. It’s tough to ask a team to do that. and you also have to find a player making this much money to bring into Philadelphia and those are usually only superstar players. So, it’s it’s really complicated. There are some ways they can do it. Maybe an Anthony Davis trade, but the Mavs, why would they want Paul George? He had to go to a third team. So, my prediction right now, Paul George could be traded in the offseason, but at least for this season, I think he does stay with Philadelphia. Now, staying with Paul George here. Little bit of a different sentiment here from Slasher Games TV 1471. Paul George is still great and people hate on him too much because he had to play well in pain last season with dog crap players on his team. So, slasher games here defending Paula George just a little bit. And I think there is some truth to this statement here. Obviously, last year was a disaster given what you thought he was going to be, what he actually ended up being and did deal with injuries the entirety of the year as the entire team did. But look, even when he was out there, didn’t look all that great. Three games so far this season. Has been really good in one of them against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday where he scored the team’s first 11 points. But outside of that, game one obviously going to have some rust against the Miami Heat. Also wasn’t very good. Now injured again. So, I do think he can still make a big impact on this team and I wouldn’t ship him off for absolutely nothing, right? But he’s going to have to prove now coming off this second injury that he can play some consistent basketball. He can score a little bit. He can play defense, which he the Sixers really need Paul George to be a highlevel defender given what they have on the roster. So, you know, I do think people hit on him a little bit too much, but again, you can see where it’s coming from given the level of play or lack thereof he’s had over his time with the Sixers. So, what say you guys? Time for you all you all to get involved here. What should the Sixers do with Paul George? If they have the ability to, would you trade him or should they keep him at least for this season? Give me a T for trade. Give me a K for keep down below. Want to hear from all of you. Next up, we got a question from uh Nicholas Leonard Uzi. I think I said that right. 3876. Now, Tyrese Maxi is a franchise player. Do you think Paul George or Embiid could be traded for a young player? Both contracts are so bad with the first round pick in 2028 from the Clippers. Do you think a deal is possible and for who? Now, we touched on Paula George a little bit. Again, I think it’s not a great possibility. So, we’ll focus more on the Embiid side of things right now. It’s probably even more complicated when you talk about trading Joel Embiid because he’s making more money. He’s a little younger obviously closer to that MVP season and you know when he’s out there you you do maybe still hold out hope that he can be that guy once again but the injury history is even worse than someone like Paula George injured again now missing his eighth straight game with knee soreness on what was supposed to be his good knee his right knee. And so you think about the possibility of trading a Joel Embiid. It it’s so difficult because one, you know, what other team, how do they value the player Joel Embiid is given the injury issue. You know, we’ve been talking about Anthony Davis on the show where a lot of other NBA teams have no interest in Anthony Davis because of his injuries despite being a great player. You know, same can be said for Joel Embiid. And Fang X also echoed this similar sentiment. kind of want to group these two together because Fang also asked, “What do you think you could get for Joel Embiid?” Man, I don’t think you could really get much of anything to be honest. And you might have to package in that 2028 Clippers pick in order to get anything of value. Again, given the lack of time we’ve seen him on the floor and when he is out there, the lack of play. Now, this year, he was playing a little bit better before he got injured again. But still, I just don’t see an Embiid trade happening with the contracts with where the Sixers are at right now. They are in a position where they can try to win this year. So, if you move Embiid and you move that pick, what are you really going to get anything of value? You do the Anthony Davis trade, well, it’s kind of a swap of injured players, right? Again, $67 million and be 34 years old in 2028 29. Again, what team wants to put that on their books? Is it worth it for a bad team? maybe like, you know, Charlotte or a Brooklyn to take on a good first round pick for that. I don’t really think it is. And if you’re the Sixers, what are you getting back anyways? So, you really have to stick with these two guys. And for Embiid, it’s so unfortunate because he was having a better season after those first couple of games where he really struggled up until he got injured once again a couple of weeks ago. And the Sixers team, you know, they’re sitting there at what, nine and seven right now. They’re kind of struggling to beat good teams, beating up on bad teams. They need Embiid and they need Paul George to be out there and I think both of them will be on this team at least for the entirety of this season. Now, Embiid so far this year has played six of a possible 16 games for Philadelphia. So, under 50% of games already he has played with no return in sight. So, I want you to predict it for me. Let’s play a little overunder game here. Will Embiid play over or under 32 and a half games this year? Give me an O for over. Give me a U for under. Again, he’s at six currently 16 games in. Sixers taking on the Magic here tonight. Obviously, a lot of guys out and injured. Philadelphia is underdogs tonight. Orlando, no palibano on their side of things. So, some stars injured. Give me the Sixers as underdogs against the Magic who they already beat earlier in the season with everybody injured. Give me Maxi 30 plus points. Give me Desmond Bane on Orlando side of things. All right, next question here from Roundbar 2072. Will the Sixers small backcourt hold up in the playoffs? This is an interesting question and you know, you think about this back court of Maxi and VJ Edgecomb. They have been electric when they have been out there on the floor. One of the best back courts in the entire NBA, right? out of any players and that’s including, you know, you have a rookie here and VJ Edgecomb. Offensively, they’ve been as good as you could really ask for, right? Especially Tyrese Maxi. Now, the question is defensively, can they hold up in the playoffs both being on the smaller side? And historically, these these playoff trends and playoff data would tell you no. You know, you think about a team, and when I read this question, this is where my mind went to right away. the Cleveland Cavaliers who a very talented roster, a very good regular season team over the past couple of years with that back court of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell, but look, they’ve dealt a lot of injuries. Part of why they’ve gotten knocked out early, but also that small backcourt really hasn’t been able to defend anybody. Now, what’s going for the Sixers is I think Maxi a better defender than Darius Garland, and I think Edgecom can be a better defender than Donovan Mitchell. Now, Edgecom has to get there. He has all the tools. It also, you know, would help if you have somebody like a Paul George and Kelly Ubé in there who can defend the wings. That’s why I’ve said Philadelphia if they can swing a trade for someone like a Herb Jones who or someone like I don’t know even even like a Naji Marshall who can defend the perimeter and defend these smaller guards as well. Give Max Edgecom someone else who can help there. That’d be huge because again historically two small guards unless you’re Steph Curry doesn’t really equate to success in the postseason. Joseph Paul. Next question. Are the Sixers injury wos? distracting us from Nurses’s coaching inadequacies. So, Nick Nurse this season, it’s been really weird because a lot of times I do like what he’s done with this team, you know, winning games despite players being in and out of the lineup, unlike last year where they were still losing a lot. Obviously, a better roster this year. And there’s times where I’m watching these games and I’m like, man, you know, he is drawn up some good good plays out of these timeouts after the end of the quarter. I like the sets the Sixers are running. Oh, here we go. Nick Nurse throwing his own out there from time to time. But then we get into these fourth quarters and although the Sixers have been really good in the fourth quarter, their offense a lot of times is just give the ball to Maxi and hope he figures it out. And a lot of times it does work out well. But I’m not seeing them run a whole lot of sets, a whole lot of plays at the end of the games. And then these third quarter issues, right, where the Sixers, they could have a lead coming out of the at halftime and then they’ve been the worst third quarter team in the NBA all season long. that tells you maybe they’re not making adjustments. Nurse doesn’t have them ready quite yet. So, it’s been a strange year cuz again, I like what he’s done for a large part of the season, but these third quarters and then these end of the fourth quarters, he’s just got to get this team in better spots, especially late in games. So, I love Nick Nurse wanting him to be the coach of this team for a while, but I don’t think enough people are really talking about that yet. As good as Nurse has been, those moments where you think, man, not quite sure what they’re doing out there. Sean Dawkins 006 last one here. I am a Sixers fan. Which seed do you think the Sixers will be? So, the Eastern Conference is crazy start the year. Philadelphia currently sitting at the seven seed right now at 9 and seven. Look, Detroit has been great. They’ve won 13 games in a row. Toronto’s been a surprising team. They just beat the Sixers the other night. They’ve been hot. Philadelphia just lost to Miami as well. So, Sixers currently slotted in in that seven seed. And again, they haven’t had a whole lot of consistency with Embiid only playing six games, Paul George only playing three games. I think they have the ability to rise up in those standings. And some of those teams that are above them, I think I would take the Sixers in a seven game series. But again, we’re talking about regular season standings. And of course, with the Sixers, it’s tough to to project and predict with Embiid. You never know when he’s going to play. Is Paula George going to keep getting injured again? Even Maxi Maxi was banged up, but he will play tonight with a shoulder injury. I do think they end up rising out of the playin tournament where they currently are right now up to the five seed. And look, if you’re a five seed, you know, you get that four or five matchup and who knows where the standings end up months down the line, right? But I think they have enough even if Embid only plays 35 to 40 games. Paul George only plays 50 games with how well Maxi has been playing and the added depth on this team to win some games. And look, if they’re a five seed, I guarantee you if a team like the rap the Raptors or maybe the Pistons drop off a little bit, drop to that four seed, I would be confident really against any of these teams in the East. It’s a weaker Eastern Conference this year. The the Cavs are not quite as dangerous as we thought. The Knicks have really struggled. I’m not scared of the Miami Heat, right? So, you look at the landscape of the East. Really, wherever the Sixers land, as long as they’re not in the plan, because anything can happen in a one-ame elimination, as long as they are a one through six seed, I feel pretty confident about them heading into the playoffs. But, give me the five seed for where they will finish. It’s your turn though. What seed do you think the Sixers will finish as? one seed really probably out of the question already with how good Detroit has been. But if they go on a little bit of a win streak, they could really finish as high as two, but knowing the Sixers as well, they could really drop off if some of these injuries continue to pile up.
