[Aaronson] The Sixers just downgraded Joel Embiid and Paul George to OUT for tonight’s game. Embiid was questionable with right knee injury management, George was probable with a right ankle sprain. Tyrese Maxey has been upgraded from probable to AVAILABLE with his right shoulder sprain.

If you told me we’d be 9-7 with Embiid and PG missing so much time before the season I’d be fine with that. Surprised even.
That said, the “will they won’t they” every damn game is so annoying and we’re not even 1/4 of the way through the season. It’s just so tedious.

Here’s my guess, the medical staff has “baseline” measurements of an unswollen knee/ankle for our players, particularly for Pg and Embiid, and they just aren’t letting them play if there’s any irregularities.
This is happening all around the league, and a few of the big national reporters have been talking about it. There’s a health revolution happening in the sport right now, and as shitty as it feels in the moment, my *guess* is that this is all for the best.

I just don’t understand why they have now upgraded Embiid twice to move him to out within 24 hours. Same for PG. it sucks and I don’t blame Embiid or PG I blame the team.
