Comparing Semien to Siri is why sometimes I hate this fan base

I don’t think you could find a player with a more different skill set or profile to compare him to
That is the “getting a lot of boss baby vibes from this” of baseball analysis
Was just about to come here and say something about how funny the chat on this stream has been. Idk how our fanbase just gets dumber the more information about the game becomes available to the public
Complaining about random comments from Youtube randoms is why sometimes I hate this fan base.
He’s not comparing him exactly. Just saying he’s a new veteran who we won’t get anything out of.
Clearly his floor is much higher than Siri’s, but it’s not a crazy to be worried we won’t get a ton of value out of him. I think we will, but it’s a reasonable concern.

Semien has a good resume of hitting MLB pitching.
Siri has none.
Even his .230 2025 was 15HR in 470AB which is far more production then Siri would provide
Just ignore social media commenters. I promise your quality of life will skyrocket.
Marcus finished top three in the MVP race three times in the last five years.
Calling him Siri is ludicrous.
Sometimes I can’t tell if some of these fans just don’t know ball, or desperately want to be sad.

He’s defintely set for a bounce back year. George Springer had two terrible years and then he had a 166 OPS+ season (at the same age as Semien next year), I believe it will happen.

But just for funsies, I compared both their numbers for the two years before they got to the Mets and they’re surprisingly close (or closer to what

There is one long shot way that comment can be correct: If god forbid he gets badly injured and plays a total of like 10 games, or however many Siri got in.

At this point, the only similarity that Semien and Siri have in common is that they are glove first players. There is 23 million difference between Siri and Semien.
In 2 years, these people would have bitched that we gave Nimmo too many years and CF money only to be able to DH.
Seemed like he’s a big Lindor fan from the interview so I’m excited to see them up the middle together.
