Chargers vs Rams preseason game halftime turns into a movie.

Thats me, the kid on the left and the kid on the right is John Simpson, son of Chargers defensive coordinator Jakie Simpson. We were Chargers waterboys and we stay on the field during the filming. We got in real trouble with our boss, equipment manager Sid Brooks.. 😔
The football scenes in the movie Heaven Can Wait were filmed at halftime show during a preseason game between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Diego Chargers on September 1, 1977.
During the first take Warren Beatty ran for the TD and as he was jogging back to the huddle for the filmed take,I jogged over to him and shook his hand and said nice run. I had no idea who he was. I was just a 15 year old. John too.
They brought out Rams and Steelers helmet carts too.
Earlier John and I watched the Rams come off the bus and Joe Namath looked at us and said, howdy fellas.. that was cool. 😎
