OUTRAGEOUS save leads to ELECTRIC OT finish! ⚡️😱

against Cerelli. He is so good on these
opening faceoffs to begin overtime. Celli, Hegel, and Moser. And dry won that easily. I
mean, it’s almost automatic that Edmonton’s going to get the first possession of overtime.
And they do. So, here’s McDavid using a bit of a screen from Booard. Heel trying to track
forced back to Booard. cuts inside, loads, and fires. And that shot was blocked. Celli
was able to shield Dry Solo from the puck long enough for Moser to take over. And now Tampa has
its first possession. Moser to Celli, McDavid, and Dry like tiger sharks bearing down on the
Tampa players. They’re just lurking. I can almost hear the theme in the background now. on the
stretch play point sneaks behind McDavid. Shoots and a save made by Picker Bark looking for McDavid
who signals to go off the boards. It’s too far. Brush back the other way. Point can’t find it.
Couple of missed passes for each team. Would have been dangerous too if either would have connected.
Try looks up at McDavid. They remain on the ice. They’ve been on for a minute 10. Here’s Tricut
to McDavid looking for victory around Radish. rolls behind the net, shrugs him off, cuts back
in front, back hands it out, and Darnell Nurse will take a skate and reluctantly McDavid and
drive will come off. Now it’s Nurse being joined by Rosik and Nurse breaks loose heading for the
net. Nurse shoots saveki rebound Ros and somehow Baselki stuck out the left hand. How did that stay
out? Here’s the get the other way and he scores. Tampa wins the game 2-1 in overtime. What a
sequence a game saver at one end and cancelled the winner at the other. [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
There is nothing like NHL overtime hockey. Unbelievable. This game was right there on his
tape for Rosik would have been his third overtime winner and he just can’t elevate the puck. Give
Vaselleski credit. He elevates the pad just a little bit. Just a tiny little bit to make the
save. And then you just had the feeling. The play goes the other way and Jake gets just a big
time clutch player. Beautiful pass by Radish who by the way had a strong strong game for Tampa Bay
with the defenseman out of the lineup. He threads it over and puts it right in the tape. Darnell
Nurse with a shot. Second opportunity off the skate of all and I mean right there for Rosik.
He just needs to get it upstairs. This puck just doesn’t get high enough over the pad. Cooer
off puts it up to Radish. He threads this one through and Jay Getel so good and tight. finishes
it off in overtime. Wow. Two to one’s your final. I mean, there are hundreds of games on an NHL
regular season schedule. You’d be hardressed to see four or five better than the one you were
witness to tonight. What a fabulous hockey game. Tampa 2, Edmonton won in overtime. And
that’s overtime for you. And there was a couple near misses earlier in the overtime stretch
passes. One attempt by Bousard up to McDavid, a secondary one up to point. They just
didn’t connect. And then when you do have a chance at one end, especially when
you go all in to create that chance, all three players on the ice for Edmonton were
right around the net. It’s pretty difficult to get back and defend effectively. And that’s
exactly what happened. Tampa finishes it

Andrei Vasilevskiy stuns Jack Roslovic with a ridiculous save and Jake Guentzel converts on the opposite end, giving the Lightning the 2-1 OT victory over the Oilers.

  1. I love how Guentzel told his teammates to go to Vasey for the winning celebration instead of himself. Never seen someone score a game winning goal and go directly to the goalie BEFORE celebrating with the guy who scored the goal.

  2. That Vasilevsky save, into the Oilers goalie not being able to save a shot 4 inches above the ice heading straight towards the middle of his pad is some great comedy. Wonder if they will keep betting on the budget goalies for the time they have left with McDavid.

  3. I know Roslovic could’ve lifted it more potentially for the goal… and hard to say what he saw in the split second he had to react, but from an outside perspective I think he should’ve dragged it on his backhand around the leg and then in.

But always easy to say that after the fact. He’s been clutch before so I’m sure he did what looked best to him in the moment.

  4. he really tried to shelf that puck but couldn’t get it off the ice….the league ought to have SOME standards for the playing surface, it was a problem for both teams all night.
