QUINN HUGHES SPEAKS OUT ON TRADE RUMOURS & THE NOISE IN VANCOUVER (Canucks News)
Where would we be if we did not talk about the latest with the Vancouver Conucks? Now, we’re here on Brendan Bachelor’s Twitter account to dive into some of the notes heading into tonight’s contest as Vancouver plays off against the Dallas Stars. Now, there was a little bit of a conversation debating whether or not the Dallas Stars would be losing out on Mika Rantin after the Alexander Romanov hit which happened a few nights ago. Doesn’t look like there was any suspension or fine or anything like that. Actually, yeah, there you go. Rantin will not receive supplementary discipline for that hit on Romanov, which means presumably that he’s going to be in the lineup tonight against the Canucks. Miko Rantin that is. Here are some of the notes from Batch. Teddy Bluger was out on the ice in a non-cont red jersey ahead of what looks like was an optional Conucks morning skate. And then we had ourselves this confirmation here. Kevin Lanken in starts. Connor Garland is in. Teddy Bluger is getting closer and Foot says he will travel with the team next week on the road trip. So that of course is going to be a pretty big addition. Teddy Bluger has not been an option for the Vancouver Conucks for most of the year. He has one goal in two games played and he’s already missed what is that 19 games on the year. We know what Bluger is capable of when he is in the lineup and when he is active. I mean, you just got to think about it. He had 28 points in 68 games. His first season as a Kuck, which of course we recognize 2023, 2024 was an amazing year for the Canucks in general. Bluger with Garland and Joshua was such an amazing and electrifying third line. But he will be joining Vancouver on their upcoming road trip. So, that of course is some pretty good news. Now, Kucks versus Dallas today. That’s not why you clicked on this video. You clicked on this video because I wanted to talk about the captain of Vancouver. And the biggest question mark for the Canucks long-term future. Yes, indeed. It is Quinn Hughes. And look, Quinn has been in a pretty difficult spot as captain this year for the team. We all understand the circumstances. And we all know his contract is going to expire next year. We all know that his future with Vancouver is not guaranteed. There is a world where Quinn Hughes decides to leave Vancouver and head over to New Jersey to join his brothers. Maybe that world is a lot more realistic than some of us might presume. This year, Quinn Hughes is all the way up there at 20 points in 16 games after exploding for 10 points in his most recent three games. He has been a man on a mission. He has been a monster. He has been a demon. He has been everything in between that Kucks fans have wanted him to be, at least in the past week or so. He started out the year pretty meh, but now he’s really put it back on. The reason we’re diving into Quinn Hughes is because what he had said in regards to trades to Sportsnet’s Ian McIntyre in an article published late last night. This was published at 9:29 p.m. Quinn Hughes staying positive as the Canucks face challenges. Control what you can, he says. Let’s go out there and read this piece by IMAC. It’ll be linked in the description for your own reading pleasure. iMac always does a really good job with these articles, so I’m just going to go out there and let the article do the talking. It dives into Quinn Hughes’s mentality about the season so far. And towards the end, there is a conversation about his future and the idea that’s been popping up of him getting traded or whatever. Let’s take a look at this. A quarter into the Vancouver Connect season, positivity is Quinn Hughes’s challenge as injuries have again buckled the team and contributed to a 910 and2 record. I think that message is definitely right, Hughes said in an interview after Wednesday’s practice, but it’s obviously really hard to do because you’re frustrated and it’s hard to flip a switch where nothing’s going to bother me today and I’m going to be completely positive. But that’s why Henrik Sadine is a Hall of Famer. He was able to be mentally strong and that’s why he probably became the player he became and the leader he became. That message was probably spoton. Of course, they are talking about Henrik Sadine. You can always find a way to be negative, always, but you can always find a way to be positive, too. I’ve been there at times this year where you’re on the negative side a bit, and you’ve just got to flip it and control what you can control. I mean, it’d be nice if we started seven and three, but we didn’t. Now we’re at where we are and we just have to move on from here. Obviously, I’m never happy losing. The article then dives into what Hughes told Elliot Freriedman on 32 thoughts that hey, the Conucks really needed to start well. He explained Wednesday that he knew that would be difficult, especially if there was another outbreak of injuries. By game 12, soon after a stretch of seven games and 11 nights, the Conucks were missing nine players. It’s obviously frustrating, but I thought this would happen,” Hugh said of the injuries. “It was a big concern of mine coming into the year. If you look at the schedule, how is anyone supposed to stay healthy? You look around the league, we’ve had nine guys out. Tampa had five guys out when we played them. It’s like every team around the league has four or five guys out. Us being at nine at one point, you know, was beyond insane. You feel for the injured guys because they want to be playing. That’s the crappiest thing, being injured.” You then had some conversations about Quinn Hughes and his own game. I liked my game earlier. I really did. He said of his slow start offensively, but maybe there was like a percent or two missing. Just a little bit of swagger. I’ll fill in the blanks for you there, Quinn. Trusting your teammates a little bit more. Just a little bit cleaner on some touches in the Ozone where I would have been normally. Like I remember a playing Chicago on October 17th where I lost the puck in the blue line, which I wouldn’t if I’m at my best. I would never lose the puck there. You just keep going. You can’t play great for 82 games. So, I’m trying to be mentally tough and stay focused on the things I can’t control. I think that’s helping. Now, focus is indeed a big part of Quinn Hughes and his story because the focus, whether it’s in Vancouver or elsewhere, will determine what ultimately happens. The article says here, “This is the season of the great decision by Hughes and whether the bless blessed best player in franchise history wants to sign an extension with the Canucks this summer, a year ahead of UFA status, or leave and try to play with his brothers.” Hughes declined Wednesday to discuss the great decision, saying that his entire focus is on trying to help the Canucks win. But he did talk about the noise. He says here, “I’m not on social media, so like the only noise is the noise inside my own head. It depends on the day and what that noise is.” Hughes countered, “When I say I can handle the noise, that’s my own thoughts. Obviously, I know there’s noise out there, which is weird, but I just know in my head that all I have to do is just control what I can control, which is to try to bring my best every night. At the start of the year, when it wasn’t going in for me, what’s the point in pouting or wondering why didn’t this go in or that go in?” If you think you’re that good, then just go score or go make a play. And that’s kind of what I’m trying to do. Just go play and see what I can do. How are things going to get better for the Canucks? I think that we’re being coached well. Very well. He said, “We work extremely hard. You can never doubt. Everyone in here is working hard. Our goalending is great. Is it really?” Uh, okay. We’ll just continue. We’re hopeful to get some guys back soon and we’re competitive. So, we’re going to try to take our hardest effort there and wherever that takes us, it takes us. So, interesting interesting commentary from Quinn Hughes in regards to controlling what he can, declining to speak out about New Jersey, but also saying that all the noise, the trade conversation about him and his future, he just tries to leave it all at the door. He does not want to interact with that. He does not want to acknowledge that. He doesn’t read it, which I think is good for his own mental sake. I mean, we’ve seen what some Vancouver Canucks players have been like on social media in the past, and whether or not that’s affected them in their play is up for concern. But Quinn straight up ignoring everything that goes on online. Even videos like this one, probably. I’d say that’s probably the best decision for him mentally and athletewise. I’m looking at you, Elias Patterson. There’s a reason PD stopped posting on Instagram like the influencer he was portraying to be back in 2020. But for now, let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. How do you feel about Quinn Hughes and the comments that he made about his future, about the trade rumors, about the noise, how he does not like to bring that into his mental? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. I hope you enjoyed this V9 and bye.

Thanks Lego!
1. It is actually one of the dumbest moves if Hughes says no to being a captain on a Canadian hockey team/Vancouver. Nuts. He won't get that chance elsewhere.
2. Vancouver is a growing team. 4-5 pieces away. That can change in 4-5 years.
batch rockin the bio pronouns lol 💀
copium
Mikko RAT-tenan
Canucks are gonna offer the biggest concract in NHL history just to keep Hughes lol
He deserves a cup and that’s more realistic with him playing in New Jersey unfortunately
He will never say he is not getting traded eh?
when will Demko, and hoglander be back? scratch Kane when Hoglander is back
can someone please tell me what lego says in his sign off? I've tried to but can't understand what he says. right before he says …and bye.
Trade him to the Islanders for Matthew Schaefer, Calum Ritchie and a 1st…
Trade him this year or resign him if not he will leave and no one can blame him for the crappy job management is doing!
