But, let’s get to this one between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Memphis Grizzlies. with the New Orleans Pelicans pick up a rare win last time out to improve to three and 15 on the year 88 and two against the number this season knocking off the Chicago Bulls while the Memphis Grizzlies fell as uh 6 and2 on the year both straight up and against the number after a 125 115 loss to the Denver Nuggets in their last matchup. and you know, New Orleans getting the win over Chicago. Was that New Orleans showing up at home and finally, you know, living up to some of that hope and expectation? Or was it more about the Chicago Bulls just being in a funk right now? And I think it was a little bit of both. I mean, Chicago, you know, just just couldn’t get it the job done in that game despite outscoring the Pelicans in the second half. And, you know, the Pelicans took a big lead into the half. They put up 74 points in the first half. It just seemed like a completely different New Orleans Pelicans team than what we are used to seeing for the better part of the season. I mean, you don’t just fluke into a three and 15 record. This team has had problems. Now, granted, it’s also been because of injuries and we still see that problem lingering with the New Orleans Pelicans as this game, you know, there’s no Herb Jones once again. Obviously, Dejante Murray still out with that Achilles issue. Uh Jordan P still out with a quad strain. Um, but it’s not like the Memphis Grizzly situation has gotten any better. I mean, they’re stealing still dealing with injuries to John Morant. You know, Javon Smalls still out. Scottie Pippen Jr. is coming back from from his uh his toe injury. Zack Ed listen is questionable for this one with a head injury, migraines, and also Ty Jerome and Brandon Clark are both out as well obviously. But, you know, the thing for me with the New Orleans Pelicans is that I just don’t know if I’m catching enough points with the Pels in this game, even though they have gone 4- one against the spread in their last five games. When you look at these two teams in this matchup, I think I’ve started to figure out the Memphis Grizzlies. Even with, you know, guys out of the lineup, this is a Memphis Grizzlies team that struggles against bad teams and plays well against good teams and beats the teams they should beat, loses to the teams that they should lose against. And that’s kind of where, you know, the Memphis Grizzlies have kind of fallen to. just they kind of fit that that mold of a team that’s probably going to finish, you know, around, you know, 30 35 maybe 40 wins this season and they’re going to have also some questionable losses. But they’re also going to do a good job of beating up on some of the bad teams. I mean, look at their last 10 games. Two wins over Dallas and a win over Sacramento, but losses to Denver, San Antonio, Cleveland, Boston, New York, OKC, Houston. So, for me, this feels like a game that the Memphis Grizzlies should win. And like I said, I just don’t think that I’m getting enough points to consider the New Orleans Pelicans in this spot. But with how competitive the New Orleans Pelicans have been, I don’t want to lay the bucket just in case they do something weird and, you know, lose this game by a point. So, the price isn’t bad with the Grizzlies on the money line. I’ll take the Grizzlies on the money line here, laying the minus 130. That’s my free pick for this game.
