Should Royals RECONSIDER Leaving KC Stadium Site? #mlb #baseball #sports
The Royals are very actively pursuing leaving the Truman Sports Complex here, which houses, yes, on one side the baseball team, on the other side it’s Arrowhead Stadium in the Kansas City Chiefs. But all of this, like, while the Royals can’t really get their next stadium settled and squared away, maybe the thought should be, well, wait a second. If we could stay here and if we could build a stadium right next door and then we have the opportunity to use like all of this half of the land hypothetically, why wouldn’t they do a stadium district of like what the battery in Atlanta has done? And again, every team looks at Atlanta right now as the model. Oh, the battery is so great and how the Braves have activated that space 365 days a year. That’s what everybody is chasing. So before the Royals rush out of this spot and before they go to a downtown location where they don’t own the blocks surrounding the stadium, they don’t own anything, they get their their 13 acres of land and that’s it. How about something like this if you could take it over? I wonder if they’re having any second thoughts.

The Chiefs may get a new stadium in Kansas.
Tell me you haven't been to that area without telling me. That area is horrific. And that stadium is not set up for today's baseball operations.
So many parking spots
I'm unfamiliar with KC, but I know the main reason The Battery works in ATL is that it is in a BOOMING suburban part of Cobb County a short drive from upscale housing, restaurants and amenities. The concept would FAIL in any downtrodden area where upscale suburbanites fear to tread, which would include basically every central city in America. Braves simply got lucky in being able to obtain land in a prime area–and only because major gas pipelines on the site had discouraged previous development.
