I didnt realize how few one score games the Giants have had this season. I had thought every game was close this year, but only half their games have been within one score.
For reference in 2022 the only games that were not within one score were Seahawks and Lions losses
You are your record. This 2025 giants team is a 12 loss team at least.
It’s not just the defense; the offense has also folded many times in the 4th quarter and OT this year too.
That’s it, I’m starting a petition to shorten NFL games to 58 minutes, who’s with me?
Idk why people are complaining about this. Being competitive with good teams in most of your games and building leads repeatedly is a sign of a competitive team. Obviously they’re not a winning team this year but in both cases you see signs of possible regression (in opposite directions for 2022 and 2025).
Which matches what the eye test already tells us — this team could easily be a sleeper contender next year with a healthy Dart, some actual good coaching, and some depth via the draft and spending.
The 2022 team was a fluke that beat up on bad teams. Stop acting like they were anything special
You can say that this is the difference between CotY and getting fired.
You can also say that these two seasons cancel each other out and all that Daboll had left to stand on was a 6 and 3 win season.
The data for 2025 alone is astounding! We’re basically playing like a .500 team for 58 minutes against some of the best teams in the league. This back up that the eye test is shows a much more competitive team than our record shows. The opposite is true for the 2022 team, where we were doing just enough to hang around with the teams on our schedule (not as tough as the 2025 teams as well) and would squeak out a win at the last minute.
This also reinforces how important confidence and momentum are to a team. If the team believes it can come back and win and has done it before, they play harder at the end of games (2022). However, once the meltdowns start, it’s hard to get the “here we go again” mentality out of everyone’s head (2025).
