POV: You’re a referee officiating a Panthers game

  1. Lol at the guy literally running behind our defender hugging him.

Is this getting worse across the league? Seems like we’ve had multiple games this season where this has happened all game.

  2. I’d be really annoyed at how the refs called the game if our coach didn’t call such a bad game and our QB execute so poorly

  3. There’s certainly plenty of blame to go around in that loss, but the lack of flags on the Niners means they essentially played a perfect game. Ref ball can be annoying but so can blindness

You’re telling me their O line didn’t hold *once*? Their secondary committed *zero* DPI? Get out of here

  4. the first 49ers drive made it clear there was effectively nothing their o-line could do that was going to be called a hold

  5. I was yelling at my TV the whole game for these flags. When we went for 2, it was painfully clear Coker got held from the jump. Refs are such limp dick losers.

  6. From the stupid intentional grounding, I did enjoy getting to hear Joe Buck tell that nerd to shut the fuck up.

  7. We could of gotten PI on every other play and still would of found a way to lose that game

  8. I mean the first one TMAC did push off🤷🏽‍♂️, the Last was Intentional Grounding!

  9. This is tough because sometimes you have to sell the penalty. I’m not saying flop, but we see wide receivers constantly attempt to throw their arms up in the air and show that they can’t or just completely fall down from the contact.

The officials will sometimes give the benefit of the doubt that the contact can easily be overcome so it’s not flagged.

On the intentional grounding I don’t remember anyone running over to the official and saying that it was tipped. We hate people like mahomes and Rodgers but they do this stuff and it works.

  10. Not to mention the non-existent holding call on Evan’s when we’re down 10 points. That’s what happens when a small market team plays a big market team on Monday night.

  11. i knew it wouldnt be a fairly called game. i didnt know it would be that bad. they were holding on almost every play. blatant block in the back on their first touchdown. DPI on several plays. NFL needs san fran in the playoffs and its obvious. NFL is a joke at this point. Not to be taken seriously

  12. An optimist would say it was just one of those things where everything that could go wrong did, from gameplanning to execution to the luck to the (lack of) calls.

Not calling clear penalties left an ‘INT’ on the board and also ensured we failed the two-point conversion, notably.

A pessimist would say that the problems with officiating in this league are getting worse rather than better, and we should probably expect this shit to be the new norm.

  13. The Panthers have been called for 64 penalties so far this season. Their opponents have been called for 81. Stop whining about refs. You can a thousand still shots during an NFL game and asked why they were or were not penalties. Also, the intentional grounding penalty was clearly explained by the on air rules expert.
