The Rays officially re-signed Jake Fraley, the 30-year-old corner outfielder, capping a run of transactions in which they claimed him off waivers from the Braves on Nov. 6, designated him for assignment on Nov. 18 and non-tendered him last Friday.

Bench depth.
$3 million contract so the Rays will pay him $1.5 million before dumping him at the trade deadline.
It was destiny. Welcome back.
Can someone explain the reasoning behind cutting him and then signing him again for $3 mil?
Makes sense. My guess is that they had already agreed on the number but allowed him the courtesy of searching for a better deal for a week.
I see him basically as Josh Lowe insurance, but either way it’s not really a deal worth getting excited for. The team desperately needs a new everyday corner outfielder if they want to be taken seriously as a team
