Finally a hot stove rumor about the Kraken! Dave Pangotta on the latest DFO Rundown podcast (https://youtu.be/8SQoVjtGWC0?si=fYRVa8Bq5fPGPiS_) Kraken are looking to add a top six forward and re-sign Jaden Schwartz. They are monitoring the availability of Alex Tuch, and Nick Schmaltz, as well as Evgeny Malkin. They are also mulling over whether internal options are more attractive.
But with seven players heading to free agency this summer, the Kraken are being patient about making a top six addition.

Citing Malkin, who has already said he has no interest in playing anywhere but Pittsburgh, and saying he’s a winger is hilarious.
If the Kraken wanted to do something cool they would figure out a sign and trade for Jason Robertson. I’m not sure the Stars can afford to resign him after this season but I’m also not sure they’d want to trade him mid-season when they’re still a contender.
I’d say wait til closer to the deadline. If we are still in playoff position and competing, yes the price wold be steeper, but better than losing pieces and it not working and us being in a worse position overall.
Alex tuch, if he resigns, would be a very very interesting addition. I would *love* if they could get jordan kyrou without moving jake or catton, and would prefer that over other options
Malkin not only doesn’t want to leave, but literally, we cannot be signing another old player. He’s 40. And he’s a center.
Schmaltz is versatile, but he’s a center. He’s interesting though.
Tuch is at least a wing. I don’t know much about him so can’t comment at all
I’m pretty sure we have ebbs coming up for renewal this year as well. So mentioning re-signing Schwartz could be interesting and could be nothing.
Because he always gets brought up in these conversations and already has:
Robertson is RFA and I’m betting he won’t want to come here and Dallas won’t be giving him up with how he’s playing unless they absolutely have to. They’ll find a way to keep him.
I’d rather have Tage Thompson.
Right now the only teams that look truly cooked are Calgary, Buffalo, and St Louis
Out of those teams the main targets would be Kadri, Coronato, Thompson, Tuch, and Kyrou — but there are other names that make sense, but they wouldn’t be as big of an impact
I also don’t think Calgary would trade with us, and the only player I would want is Matt Coronato, so they are likely out
**edit to clarify: there are absolutely other team that are out of it (like Vancouver and Nashville); I just don’t think they believe they’re out of it yet
It goes to show how much we are missing McCann right now. He’s been our best goal scorer every year. Can you imagine our how we are playing right now winth .5 more goals per game? Oh my goodness!
I like Schwartz and would be ok if he signs for $5Mx4yrs. Over the next couple of years move down to the 3rd line.
Dave Pangotta isn’t that credible of a person. So take it with a grain of salt.
