Behind the Scenes on the West Coast with the Chicago Bulls

[Music] Bulls on the route at Trip Out West. Good to see Kobe back on the floor. Jokic for the tie. Ball game over. Boots for the win. Booty has done it again. We had a um a really good practice session, but we cleaned up a lot of things we needed to address. So, I thought we’re back on the right track from that practice. You can get back up there, Josh. You’re there. You’re trapped in the box. You’re cracking down. The area that I tried to grow in the most is probably my leadership. As a guy that handles the ball a lot, you’ve got to be able to have a voice, be able to tell people what you see and tell Billy what I see and be an extension of him on the court. trying to be aggressive, you know, trying to make sure I have a good, you know, combination of when to be aggressive, know when to get other guys involved. Got it. Welcome back, Kobe White. You have a guy like that who commands so much attention on the court, is so willing to sacrifice and play different roles on the court, it goes a long way. We’re a much better team when when Kobe’s out there. He’s gotten a lot better. He’s matured and obviously he’s a he’s a closer. And here’s the big one. And he ties it up. Ice ice tonight for Kobe. He always wants to be involved with his teammates. Even though he pushes his teammates to get better as a leader, but I think he does it on his own way from that little kid to be drafted as a rookie and uh the way he’s grown. It’s It’s been good to see. Kobe is maybe more than any other player on this roster the one guy that can kind of bail the Bulls out. It was good for this team to figure out who they are without him, how to get out of bad situations without him. When teams start to go on losing streaks, you see teams start to separate a little bit and that’s when things can really go downhill. So, I think to our credit, we’ve done a really good job staying together. One, two, one, two, win. They endured a double overtime game the night before. You fly overnight that Denver airport not close to the city. You’ve got a long bus ride in. You’re getting to your hotel room in the middle of the night. It’s a grind. See what the Bulls have left in their legs after playing in double overtime last night. This road trip specifically is like an endurance test. You have everything. You’ve got elevation. You’re out on the West Coast. You’ve got games that feel later in your body. And then you’re also doing back tobacks. That’s kind of a defining factor of this type of road trip is whether you can muscle through all of that. Disappointing night for the Denver Nuggets. Their seven game win streak comes to an end. Hell yeah. Needed that one. Snapped a losing streak. Tough team, tough place to play. But unbelievable win tonight. So we really need this one. Credit to the guys. Team effort. Morning. I didn’t go outside yesterday. Is that good? Tomorrow’s kind of a bogus day. Basically wake up, fly home, and it’s dark. We’re in Portland right now. We leave tomorrow. So, we play tonight. And uh it’s actually Zack Collins birthday, so I think we’re going to grab some dinner afterwards as a team. Come on. Keep playing. Keep playing. Space out. Julian top left corner, please. Right corner. We got an opportunity right now to go two and three on this road trip. Okay, let’s take advantage of the opportunity. Hey, hard work on three. One, two, three. [Applause] Kind of feels like everyone’s a little bit more together on the road, which is why camaraderie I feel like is built sometimes better when you’re doing trips like this. Zack, happy birthday. And you’re back in your own. Come on, man. State of Washington’s not too far. Yes, exactly right. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear. Happy birthday to you. 30 now. Chill, chill, chill, chill. I can notice a big jump from this year to last year. Just just doing things as a group and guys seem a lot closer this year. Nice dish and Bzelis with a two-handed flush. We don’t got any quitting us. I think we continue to fight. I think that builds camaraderie as a team. We get to be in those moments together as a collective unit and figure out how to get through those moments together. Should have layups. Kobe no look pass. Terry reverse. Oh, looking like the Showtime Bulls there. Gave him a little no look pass. It’s looking like magic in the middle of the court. Any chance I get to play this game, I’m blessed and uh I’m thankful and I try to I try to just stay in the moment and appreciate it. So for me, I’ll just be happy to be out there with my teammates. Five down to four. Game on the line. He takes Murray. He takes M has done it again. Put some respect on Mucci M’s name. You know, telling the guys just keep going, keep fighting. Tell you can learn from win. We can learn from a win. I think we do it as a collective and we got the utmost respect and belief in each other and and I think that translates over to the court. We’re coming back to you, Chicago. We’re coming back home.

  2. They need to blow it up. This team is filled with a bunch of nice guys. No heart or grit. Restart. These guys don’t wanna play for Billy. He tells them what to do and they don’t listen. What does that tell you? And this has been happening since Demar and Zach were here. Fuck you AK, you’re terrible at your job
