Mammoth fan and loyal disciple of King Tusky from Houston checking in.

Long story short: a year ago I accepted that Houston probably wasn’t getting an NHL team anytime soon. I was falling in love with hockey, so I decided to follow the Utah Hockey Club since they were brand new too.

Here’s the wild part: I’ve had the nickname ā€œTuskā€ since I was a kid—partly because of my name and partly because I’ve always loved walruses. So when the name Mammoth dropped and ā€œtusks upā€ became the logo, my mind absolutely blown.

Then came the mascot reveal. We were watching the home opener from Houston, and when Tusky appeared my wife and I laughed out of pure joy for a solid minute. ā€œTuskyā€ was also a nickname I used to get, so the whole thing felt unreal.

All this to say: I’m such a Mammoth fan now that even if Houston eventually gets a team, they’ll have some real competition for my loyalty.

Now the actual question:
Any Mammoth fans going to the Stars game on Friday?

It gives me the chance to root for two of my favorite things:
1. A Mammoth win
2. The city of Dallas losing in any capacity

ONE LAST NOTE: We are planning to fly out in March and see a home game.
