Should the Mets go after Kyle Tucker or Clay Bellinger in free agency? | BNNY
Great question harp Tucker or
Ballinger? I think it depends on Alonso. If alonso’s back. I’m
fine with Bellinger. He feels a lot of holes. He can
play first base and get alonso’s glove out of there at
times. If Alonso is not there, I think
you got to go and try and get Tucker Baynes. He’s a better
offensive player. He’s a he’s a Difference Maker offensive.
We’re Bellinger is just a really good player all around.
So I think it has a lot to do with Alonzo but I don’t think it’s realistic to
get Tucker especially if alonso’s back. The thing is, if
you have the chance to get Kyle Tucker, it’s really hard to pass
up on a guy like that. At, but my pick is for Cody
Bellinger defensa versatility. Is My Kryptonite. You can play
for positions average to above-average. You
could go play first base. If for some reason, they don’t
re-sign. Keep Alonso plus the Outfield. He’s a World
Series champ, a gold glove, MVP
former rookie of the year. The resume
is long, had one of his best offensive
years last year with the New York Yankees and this is a guy
absolutely want on my team. Alonso is not there you want him
instead of Tucker. I mean he I want Cody boundary because
in the long run herb down. The line when Carlos Mendoza
needs to make some moves or once options Cody Belgium or
off, I like he brings offense, he brings offense, he has great
health again friend stalkers. Yeah I think Tucker’s offensive suckers never hit more than 30
home runs or hit over 300 in one season. Yes. But he’s also
never had the up-down up-down. That Cody Bellinger has and also
look I mean I don’t want to sound like I’m dinging
Bellinger because I love the player and I think the Yankees should
reassign him. Part of the reason I think that is
because he had some extreme
numbers in Yankee Stadium. Last year. He
had a Believer was a A 90 90 PS at home and it was 7:15 away.
That’s a pretty significant difference. You know what? That nice,
left-handed swing and the porch there. So I do believe Kyle Tucker is a
better solution for the Mets. Now, it would be interesting to
see what they would do. Right field, left field there, because
soccer is a career. Right fielder? I think he’s
played 70 odd games in left field. Not that he couldn’t do
it. He could probably do anything, but then
do you switch? So do over to left my yes, you’re the playing
in Citi Field and have Tucker, playwright. If we get to that, we can debate
that endlessly on the nny, but I do think that
Tucker is a clear. It’s not like Bellinger is a slam-dunk,
he wants. If we everybody thinks he wants to go back to
the Yankee, so if they re cylons, are they
going to get Tucker? I don’t think so. I do go now for left
field, I’m more with you harm that to me it really shouldn’t
be Bellinger or Tucker. It’s Bellinger end Alonso or Tucker. I don’t know if it’s
realistic to get Tucker and bring Pete back but I know this
bill bringing in Bellinger is not Enough to replace Nimmo
softens and Alonzo. Outbid by the Yankees for
Bellinger if they bring the Lonzo back. So there’s a lot
of facets to this thing, right? But I but I do think that you
could make the case that they would be a better ball club with
Ballinger and with a long back, no guarantee. But those are the
type of moves that we’re looking at here, coming up on
sign everybody I know you can’t and what do you
think you’re more likely now that Pete stays with memo
gone? You know Sal I’ve been going back and forth on this
question because I think it’s I’m not sure that the new motor It is connected to Pete in any
way except other than to indicate an hour. Ron Darling
has said this that, you know, the Stearns and no one is safe
on the roster. Sentimentality is not a part of the way, he is
roster building. So, you know that plus the fact
that David Stern’s is done everything, but like takeout Billboards and get on
top of the Empire State Building and yell run,
prevention out loud, time and time again, that’s where he’s
going here. And obviously, Pete does not fit It run prevention.
He is run production. However, the need in the Met
lineup for run production is still huge. And so, I think
there’s still a chance he comes back. But, you know, there’s a
lot going on here. I think it has to be a greater
chance. But I mean, we don’t know. As you said, it’s all
about this run prevention. How far is he going to take this?
But I think most encourages it Boris made a point of saying during the who was GM meetings
that Alonso is willing to be at part to at least a part-time DH.
So I think the fact that he put that put that out in the
open tells me he’s willing to do that. That’s important. We’ll bring back, you bring them
back for his Bat and going to find ways to make them
defensively better than close face. But I think I just don’t
see how this team is better in any way offensively. If he’s not
there. I mean maybe if you go get
caught soccer, maybe but I don’t that’s a that’s a ton of money.
They’re going to have to spend on him. What kids do do you
can’t replace the batteries. I think, what stands out to me
the most which is true. Not only did he cut down on his strikeouts?
He walked more, he made more contact. He made
some adjustments, like that’s what I like to see in a guy
who’s probably fighting for a contract. He knew that
throughout the season, but somewhere, he Wants to be a
place that he calls home and to me, like let’s take the
Mets part out of it like being a player who stays with one
team, their whole career he is one of the best offensive first
baseman in the entire league. I get the defense is average to below average. More
on the below side. I understand I got you. I got you harp, I
understand but the bat there’s nobody in the lineup. There’s
not enough guys right now and you’re gonna have to spit,
you’re gonna have to overspend right to reproduce, what he did
and I think bringing him back if you don’t bring him back at some Ache and you are sorely going to
miss the offense more than anything else that he brings to
the table. And I do think I’m with you. I think that this
makes it more likely he comes back. Now I could be completely
misreading this because there’s a thought, right? It has happened before but there is a thaw like okay,
you rip the Band-Aid off with Nimmo a fan favorite. Well now,
Alonso could be next and Stearns could really put his
fingerprints all over this roster. However, I’m of the
thought that they moved on from one contract that they were
committed to 45 years Beyond this year with an aging player who looks
like he’s getting older. I have to be th you losing
offense. There, that would mean to me. More
likely, you would invest in Pete’s power and have his
offense. He could be willing to play some d h and have him at
first base. So I do think that it’s more likely. The one thing
the hard we talked about it, what’s turns putting more of his
imprint. What do you think that Stern’s
team is going to look like here as you really start to put his
hand on. That is the key. That’s the unknown. You know? I
mean he’s he built those teams in Milwaukee to be Grinders
about built on pitching and defense but they never win a postseason
needing more than Grinders in the postseason to You need to
stars and you guys are going to hit a home run so you can’t just win what you can
win with, run prevention, but I don’t think you can win a
championship if that’s your main focus. I think you got to
have big pop somewhere in that lineup, so that’s right. That’s why I’m going to be
fascinating to see where he goes here. What how’s he going
to fill that hole in left field? I mean, I don’t think
it’s out of the complete realm of possibility. He goes defense
there first. And now, what do you have in that lineup? That’s
the big issue. Correct. It’s not like the Mets of the Yankees here, with the
Yankees, need a little more balanced because they have so
much power. I’m fine with building with balance, but the
Mets need power. Our. And if they lose Pete, Alonso, they
just don’t have nearly enough.

she's so freaking loud.
Neither
tuckers homeruns have gone down the last 4 years
Who is Clay Bellinger ?
You all realize that IF you lose Alonso you also dealt Nimmo too, so he was no slouch with power numbers and RBIS, so If you get Alonso you still need a solid guy and another one, if you lose Alonso you better be getting three guys so no excuses they need to sign Alonso, yes Marcus is a huge defensive help but he is falling off offensively and the Mets have plenty of guys who bat 230.
Give me Alonso and Bellinger instead of just Tucker
Mets could also trade for Kwan and sign Alonso.
keep buying older free agents and keep not making the playoffs.
Pete is a way better first baseman than people want to give him credit for aside from throws to a covering pitcher. All the Mets need is starting pitching, Pete isnt going anywhere
Didn't Pete's offense, carried the mets, in the first few months of the season?
Clay Bellinger
Cohen should just spend whatever it takes to be side by side with the dodgers, if the Mets can't do that then they should just stop. GO ALL OUT!!!!!
Yanks not making moves the Mets redsox & now the blue jays what is Brian cashman waiting for give the fans something to talk about make that kick buster trade now
Resume? What a silly reason.
No. They need pitching more than anything.
The media manager here is overpaid. “CLAY BELLINGER” 😂😂😂
KT, Alonso, Diaz, Devin, Peralta, Joe Ryan
Tatis
What’s all this smoke about Tucker. This dude is average
How about getting some pitchers that can go past the 4th inning. Let’s start there…
Mets are not getting either one. They are going to get Grisham because, you know, defense.
Bring back Pete and go get Donovan or Bader.
Neither
Both n Pete😂😂
Who’s Clay
They needed one more bat with nimmo and Pete. Now with maybe no Pete and no nimmo they need 3 bats
Defensive versatility his her kryptonite?
Remove the female from these premises immediately!!!!!
Let me tell you something, if the Mets dont sign Pete after they just got rid of a Mets lifer and fan favorite in Nimmo, they're gonna have to worry about a lot more than just runs and run-prevention. The fans are not gonna show up like before. I've been a Mets fan for over 40yrs and It hasnt been easy at times but we're loyal fans and we care.
You mean Cody Bellinger.
