The Ringer

8. SG Donovan Mitchell (Age 29)

16. PF Evan Mobley (Age 24)

44. PG Darius Garland (Age 25)

59. C Jarrett Allen (Age 27)

88. SF DeAndre Hunter (Age 28)

Take-aways: Mitchell could be even higher honestly.

31.7/5.8/5.0 per 36

50.3% FG

38.3% 3-Pt FG

83.2% FT

OFF Rating: 119.9

DEF Rating: 109.1

NET: +10.8

Surprised Mobley is as high as he is but the Ringer has always loved my boy. For quick context Mitchell’s current MVP start still doesn’t match Evan’s +11.9 in 71gms last year.

Garland is too low but he has to come back from injury to remind them what’s up. The Cavs OFF Rating with Garland on the floor since the beginning of last season is higher than GOAT 23-24 Celtics.

JA is kinda low too for me but I am questioning more and more his fit. He’s being used as a part time player and that’s problematic. He’s averaging 20.5/10.5/2.5 per 36 on a career-high +11.3.

Hunter is low as well. IMO all 5 guys are Top 75 with Mitchell/Mobley/Garland aggregating Top 25. If we are there we have a great chance to come out of the East.

  1. I think people who follow the Cavs closely realize Garland’s importance. In all honestly he should be voted higher. I will not comment on the others. This ranking tells me that the Ringer needs a Cavs beat writer.

  2. garland is way closer to mobley than this. Id say mobley is around 20-25. garland like top 25-30

  3. the hunter rating is a touch low but whatever, and DG is very low but i get it. the ringers coverage of the nba is solid but it also can be internety, prisoner of the moment etc

mobley is my favorite player on the team. i’m rooting for him. i really wish we would have had kenny sooner instead of bickerstaff who just was not the right coach for him. he needed someone with a little more offensive vision. we’ll get a better idea of who mobley is gonna be in the back half of the season. worst case scenario he’s a 3&D 5 and elite pnr guy, but if they stick it out let him, let him get some reps, take some lumps, they will be rewarded in the long term. he has the potential to develop a nice little KG baseline fader, and the skill to be long slasher into the middle of the paint

  4. How could Mobley be 16 when Siakam is only 25??????

Maybe this should help people put into perspective the great things that Mobley brings to the table, even if its not always pretty.

  5. I love JA and I feel like he’s having a terrible season so far. Maybe it’s the finger, but he’s had like two games where he looked dialed in.
