Refs have decided way too many games lately
It’s honestly baffling to me. Also having to listen to the dweebs commentating was just as brutal.
The fact that it genuinely is almost every game is what is baffling to me, I swear refs weren’t this bad even like 5 years ago.

Not to mention on Blody’s goal to tie it, Eriksson Ek had his legs wrapped around Crevier’s leg from the time he went down until after Boldy had the puck on his stick all alone in front of that open net.
Dave Jackson’s break down of calling the instigator or not is also another tell of how BS and inconsistent the rule interpretations are. Jackson himself has been asked about it before during a broadcast and said “It’s when a player leaves the flow of play to start a physical confrontation.” That’s exactly what Trenin did to start the fight with Murphy.
AHL has better refs than him
These refs need to start getting looked at for betting because they can’t honestly be THIS blind every damn game 😡
I’m honestly just waiting for the gambling scandal to come out for the NHL. Like there’s no way THAT call is made in overtime

I know it happens every year. I know every team complains. Somehow, though, this year in hockey and football, the officiating seems to have fallen. It’s just weird that it feels more widespread and egregious in multiple sports I’m following between NFL, NHL, and CFB.

Yes. HOWEVER. We cannot crumble after a disallowed goal like we did this game.
I don’t know who was more biased against the Hawks – the ref or Cassie Campbell-Pascal. She can stay away from Chicago too.
Sports books need to be regulated. They should have to report publicly what they made on every bet for every game. This is getting ridiculous. 5 games we’ve lost on garbage calls. You convert that to wins and we’re 2nd or 3rd in the division
I am also not a conspiracy theorist, but horrible reffing, plus the rise of online sports betting is a good fuel for the fire.
Also noting that those not watching the game are able to add to the opinion because of social media.
These referees ought to be fired. They aren’t doing their job. Even a person who isn’t familiar with the sport can see they’re prejudiced against the hawks and will pull every trick in the book to screw them.
Seems to be a recurring theme that we give up goals late in a period. I think that goal late in the 2nd was the real tide Turner.

Are there other sports that have normalized ‘makeup calls’ like the NHL has? The commentators openly discussed that the Hawks got away with likely two calls so refs might have been looking to even things out. How is each call not independent of itself? The NFL does not allow such things. These refs have way too much leeway to affect games.
And the “eye in the sky ref” idea has been shot down because the NHL doesn’t want to hurt the referees feelings. I’ve heard that said in the media by multiple parties now. WTF. Making the right calls are agnostic to anyone’s dam “feelings.”
It’s Chicago man. We’re cursed. The bears, the hawks, it’s bad. I’d even put it on the fire. I don’t watch enough bulls or cubs to know, and the white sox, well, it wouldn’t matter either way. But for most of Chicago sports, we’re cursed.
