[Payton Halas] One of my favorite off-season cope last year re: Ben Johnson was “Does Ben Johnson get to bring that Offensive Line and Run Game with him?” Turns out, yep.

  1. Sure wish we had Gibbs. But the revamped O-line is a majorly underrated reason why we made this leap.

  2. I remember the biggest knock on Caleb was the whole “he takes too many sacks” when even the average NFL viewer could tell the offensive line was absolutely abysmal last year

Crazy how changing out FOUR of those guys in an off-season and bringing in a coach that emphasizes run heavy formations turned that narrative off quick

  3. Johnson getting the run game to do a complete 180 after the bye is still to me the most impressive thing he’s done so far with this team

  4. I also worried that if Ben had to do more than just “call the offense” that his abilities would suffer. But he did an outstanding job of hiring a staff that could offset the defensive workload, weather the storm of injury attrition, AND it turns out he’s pretty damn good at managing a full team anyway!

  5. I’m already excited for next year when we (hopefully) add to the RB room.

Swift is still too hit/miss/poor vision and Monangai seems like more of a RB2 type.

I trust Ben with whatever he decides though.
