Linus Ullmark, Jake sanderson, Shane Pinto, Travis Green Postgame Media vs VGK

city through and through. We battle right through the end. It wasn’t pretty, but two points is two points. Travis just highlighted four or five games for you maybe that you’ve started to find your game a little bit. How did you feel out there tonight? And how have you felt over this recent little stretch of games? Uh yeah, I mean certainly looked better when I’m watching the film and and stuff like that, but it’s not just me. This it’s the whole team that’s doing a lot of good things as well and making it a little bit easier for me as well. And uh we’ve had some bounces coming our way as well. Uh especially there in the the breakaway and the third one and also on the penalty shot as well. And I said in the beginning of the season as well that it felt at that point that a lot of bounces was not going our way. But the toughest part at that point is just try to stay with it, trust the process and uh at the same time make your own luck because if I’m I’m if I’m not doing the right things, if I’m not competing, if I’m not uh coming to work every day with a smile on my face, for for me at least, I’m I’m not going to get any better. I’m not going to be able to turn the tide. And sometimes you just, you know, you get these bounces when you’re competing hard. And overall now for the group, three wins so far on the trip. How important of a win like this to build momentum going forward the rest of the trip? It’s it’s good because you we you see this uh seven game road trip as two parts like you had the Western teams uh we came out victorious on that one two to one. We start off this four four banger with a win and uh it’s nice to get a little break now going to St. Louis, celebrate a little bit of Thanksgiving, be thankful for what we’ve done for each other, uh for our loved ones, all that sort of stuff together with with the teammates, and that’s going to be it’s going to be nice. Hopefully, I’ve heard some good things about the Big Walls house back in St. Louis. First off, Sandy, fun game tonight. Very intense. What do you see from the group in this one? Uh, huge win. Um, it’s probably one of the hardest drinks to come in and win on the road. So, um, you know, I thought our first was great and dipped a little bit in the second, but, uh, stuck with it in the third and, you know, was patient to the very end. You mentioned this is one of the hardest ranks to win in the league coming out of the gate the strong like you guys did. How important is that and how much of an emphasis was that going into this game? It’s huge. Um, it gives us confidence for the rest of the game. Um, we’ve been playing some pretty good hockey lately. Obviously, we lost uh against LA, but we liked a lot of our game. So, um, just trying to keep building on every day. And for you personally, you get the goal in the first period on the power play. How key is it for you to have that versatility at the at the blue line in the offensive zone to get that shot out, but also move your feet and also move the puck to the guys that you have on the wing? Yeah, it’s nice. I think uh we went into the game, try to have a you know, a shot first mentality the first couple seconds of the power play if we have a look. So, um and you know, it worked out. So, I think for me just uh try to keep rolling, get my shots through and uh you know, let Drake use his big body in front of the net. Selenus, big saves down the stretch. How important of a performance is this for him for the team? So good. Um, you know, he was almost perfect tonight. Just, uh, the confidence that he instills in our group every day and every game is it’s it’s so nice as a defenseman knowing uh, you know, if there’s a breakdown, he’s going to have your back. So, um, you know, we’re we’re very lucky to have him. Three wins now through the first four games of the trip. How important of a win is this to build the momentum for the rest of the way here? Yeah, it’s huge. Uh, it’s a long road trip. It’s a hard road trip for sure. So, um, you know, we want to keep building. Um, you know, keep collecting points and, you know, keep, uh, you know, have that win the day mentality? Well, he made some big saves for us. Um, yeah, just a gritty win and, uh, just a huge two points for us. Mentioned the start this morning, the importance of coming out in a barn like this. Uh, how much of an emphasis was that coming out of the gate strong here tonight? Yeah, I think, you know, we had them on their heels a little early there. I think they came back and got the momentum a little bit, but, you know, that was huge to get those three goals. Um they obviously came back but um yeah we found a way so it was a big win. Nine hits for you in a physical game I mean not many an area that we see from you that often but in a game like this how important is it to maybe it incite that physicality? Yeah I think you know last game I was a little a little too soft and um just felt like I had to throw the body around a little bit and that was one of my goals coming into the game and I just tried my best to do it. Lenus also big saves down the stretch. What do you see from him and how important is that for the group? Yeah, he’s been unreal lately I think. um you know, you need your goalie to win in this league and he’s stepped up for us um these last few games and um I’m just super happy for him and I’m thankful we have him. Sandy picks up a few points in the first period as well. Uh how important is it to have him on the power play with the versatility that he creates from the offensive line? Yeah, I mean I can’t say enough good things about S. He’s a, you know, elite defenseman. I think everyone knows that. It’s easy to tell. May he may not show up on the score sheet sometimes, but um he he gets rewarded a lot. He should. He plays the game the right way and he’s just a special guy to watch every night. So, it’s a it’s a pleasure for us. Three wins through the first four games of the trip. How big of a win like this is is is this to build momentum through the rest of the way. Yeah. You know, I think um it’s a long road trip, but so far we’ve done good. Um we got three games left. So, um this one won’t matter after uh after today. So, you just got to reset and try to win one uh on Thursday or no, Friday. Friday. Friday. I don’t even know the date. Awesome. And what did you see from the team here tonight? Uh we hung on a little bit. Uh Lean has kept us in it in the third. Um obviously a real good start to the game. Uh it’s a real that’s they’re a good team. You can see why they’re one of the favorites to win the cup and to get a get two points in here was huge. Lenus with a big performance as you mentioned. Uh what how important of a win for the group is it and how important of a of a performance is it from Lenus for the team here? Yeah, I it’s important for the team first and foremost. Uh, and for Lenus, I don’t think he’s ever, you know, stopped believing or, you know, there’s been a lot of talk about him, uh, not having a great year, but I think his games look real sharp here for the last probably last three weeks, and, uh, not surprised to see him have a performance like that. Uh, we got full confidence in him. You come out with three goals in the opening frame. How much of an emphasis was that start out of the gate here tonight? Well, it was, um, you know, we talked about playing 60 minutes. I thought, uh, Yeah, it was a fast game. It was a hard-fought game. I thought we got a little tired in the third. I got to do a little better job of getting our fourth line out, getting them a few more minutes to save some energy later in games. Sandy gets a goal on the power play, three points for him also in the opening frame. How important is that for the defenseman to kind of step up? I mean, Sy’s such a good player. He’s not worried about goals and assists. He just kind of comes by him with uh with how well he plays all the time. So, it’s it’s not surprising.
