POST CAST: LINUS ULLMARK STEALS VICTORY FOR OTTAWA SENATORS IN AN INCREDIBLE SHOOTOUT WIN VS VEGAS

You are listening to the postcast presented by the Locked On Senators podcast and of course our friends at the Gleeb Central Pub. Check out the GCP where the vibes are free at 779 Bank Street. Let them know that Locked On Senator sent you and get your shuttle tickets to and from the CTC for all December home games. I’m Ross Levitan alongside Brandon Pillar. And there are 250 citizens vibing at 1:20 a.m. after the Senators pull off a miraculous 4-3 shootout win over the Vegas Golden Knights. I’m Ross Levitan. That of course is Brandon Pillar and Pillsey. What did we say today was the key to victory? How to win this game? Well, we had three keys to victory, Ross. The one and main one was all Mark needed to be a Vzna type goalie and steal this win. Check another one. Timmy needed to have a good game now. No goals. I don’t even think Timmy had any no shots, but still two assists and he was all over this one. So, check. We needed the power play to get going. They scored a goal. Triple check. Take that all the way to the bank. A 4-3 shootout when the Ottawa Senators have slayed the boogeyman in Sin City. 2,826 days since their last win in Vegas. Start the clock at zero again because the Ottawa Senators did it. I’m so happy right now, Ross. This is the ultimate vibe cast. I can’t believe there’s 270 people up with us here to celebrate this one. This is a massive win. Senators now 3 and one on a sevengame road trip that continues Friday in St. Louis. And oh yeah, the captain is coming back. I mentioned this in my quick short after the game that the fact Shane Pinto opens the scoring in the first minute of the game and then puts this one to bed in the shootout is just so poetic. After buying the boys dinner last night, it’s just unreal. The vibes that that creates, Jake Sanderson said, “Hey, we had a discussion at dinner. Everybody’s going no buckets in Sin City. We’ll pay the fine. Who cares?” Into probably paid the fine. Oh, probably 30 sheets. I hope he would, but man, he’s going to be making a whole lot more money if he keeps playing like this for the next four years. Now, there were some LS in this game, and that’s evident with starting. Alenus Almark stole this game with 32 saves. The breakaway save on Jack Eel with five minutes left in the third period. One, I almost threw my remote through my TV. The fact they’re allowing, they were defending the whole period. Chip, defend, chip, defend. Well, if you’re gonna do that, at least don’t give up breakaways to the best goalcorer on their team. Yeah. But my goodness, Lenus Almar keeps it out there. And if you have not seen the replay overhead behind like in the net of the shootout attempt by Jack Eel. At this point, it’s 000. Ekeel’s the second shooter. He has the opportunity to put all the pressure on Pinto to score to keep the game alive. But Lenus Almer, every part of his body except where the puck was was in the net. And there is a clear angle of the puck standing on its edge, just a fraction of an inch in front of the goal line. Unreal. Yeah, God wanted the Ottawa Senators to win this hockey game. Everything kind of worked out for them. And that Eel shootout attempt was basically a carbon copy of his breakaway that you talked about because he gets in all alone. Allark makes the low save and is sliding back in his net and just is able to push himself enough to keep that puck out. When that shootout attempt happened, Ross and Allark was sliding back and like you said, his whole body was back there and then he opened up his legs to show the ref where the puck was. I was like, “Oh, you just cost us the game. Don’t ever do that. Keep your legs closed. Keep that puck hidden and shove yourself out of the net. Don’t give them any opportunity to make the call easy there because it has to be conclusive that that puck didn’t go in which like you mentioned that call turns out to be conclusive. Thank goodness. But oh my god. And then Ross, you know, I love to hate Mitch Mner having him as the third shootout doing a gazillion deaks and getting nowhere with it. getting to see him whine and complain and Larzeller giving him the gears being like, “Shut your mouth, Mitchie. Get on the bench. Go play with your iPad. Leave the leave the hockey to the big boys out here was just incredible.” So, it was awesome. There’s so many different parts that I want to talk about in this game, Ross. I think we can snap it around three times back and forth for the Sen Central standouts because there’s so many players that deserve shout outs tonight. Yeah, and the first period was fantastic in this game. Second and third, not so much. That’s where they relied way too much on Lena Salmark. How about the glove save on Mitch Marner in tight in the third period? He made a game’s worth of highlight reel saves third period. And the only thing that beat him was off his own player skating in the back of the net. This was This might be Lenus Almark’s second best game as an Ottawa Senator. This might be that good. What’s the first one? uh the two-1 win over Detroit where he had 49 saves last year. Yeah. Or the the home opener against Florida. That was good, too. This was certainly his best game all season. I’ve never been so confident in all Mark. Like Ross, a week ago, when Ekeel gets that breakaway pass and gets past Jake Sanderson, I’m already turning around. I’m like, “Oh man, I might as well go get another rum and coke. This is going to be a rough one. That’s a goal. Too bad. So sad.” But no, he’s confident. He keeps himself out of the net. he stops it and then when it came to the shootout Ross I was like hark’s been great all game but maybe I don’t know I’d like to see the statistics about it but I’m not that confident all mark in the shootout or man-on-man breakaway and maybe it’s just been because how shaky he was at the start of the season but I was like oof if bathe doesn’t score first here you’re looking at a big time uh lineup of the Vegas Golden Knights I think they started off with Dorafia y yeah and then Eel and then Marner and I was like, “Oh man, this could go really bad.” If they made it to the fourth shooter, you know, it was going to be Mark Stone and he already got his big goal. I just would have been too poetic for him to finish that off. So, shout out Shane Pinto saying, “Nope, I’ll finish this one for us.” 4-3 sends win. Woo! And Lena Solar is now two and two in shootouts as a member of the Ottawa Senators last year and this year combined he’s allowed three goals on 10 shots in the shootout. So a 700 save percentage pretty damn good when you’re man-on-man against the other team’s three best shooters on most nights. So credit to Lenus Allark, man. Solid in the shootout. Like even the Droia of one, he beat him, but then he used his stick and disrupted his stick enough that he couldn’t get it on net. So unreal for Lenus Allar tonight by far the first star in this game. And just on the shootout, like all was so much better than Schmeid. Like Schmeed just had no movement at all. Like the bats one hits his blocker. Timmy beats Yeah, Timmy beats him and Timmyy’s like, “This is not my night to score.” Cuz Timmy had that glorious chance in the dying seconds of the game. Cleven slapshot. It’s right there and he just kind of whiffs on it. Uh and Timmy is just looking skyward so many times uh in this one, but time did expire though. It wouldn’t have counted. Oh, what did it? Okay. Well, either way, Timmy’s like, “You’d like to bury that one either way, whether the time’s there or not.” Um, but yeah, it was a And how about Timmy running over that what’s his name? Cororzak. That was awesome. That’s just Timmy being like, I’m pissed. I can’t score this game. I’m just going to run through, guys. And he wanted to fight him. Uh, like he was he was shaking the gloves like I’m going to throw down. And Timmy’s like, settle down. Like it the play is done. I just played the body. Not a big deal. Sorry. We’re not in the same class. Like if I sit and you sit, that’s such a win for your team. Like maybe if Hey, Stone wants to go Hodgegson, maybe I’ll go you. All right. But if Stonew from Hayden Hodgegson like he did all night tonight, Hayden Hodgegson leaves with two points. I hope he said something. Hey, said you never see me again. Take the See you later. Stop. But start the plane. Start. Get out of there right now before they change their mind. or Ross, go right to the golden nugget and put a bunch of money in at the casino because you got the luck going for you right now. Yeah. Yeah, no doubt. Plant the flag at center ice. Senators win. They own the Vegas Golden Knights 1 and0 this season. Let’s go. Oh man, that felt so good getting the victory there. Jake Sanderson became only the third senator in franchise history with three points in a first period. kind of a bit of a cherrypick stat, but we like it when there’s a small number there. Only Wade Redden and Jacob Cherin had accomplished that before. Sanderson was unreal in that first period. And I mean, he almost caught Jack Eel on that breakaway. If that was anybody but Eel, one of the fastest players in the league. He’s catching him, no doubt. And he you knew that he could hear the skates coming and it definitely hurried him up of having to make a quick decision, make a move. All makes the save there. Senators open the scoring a minute into this game. Not even 50 seconds. Shane Pinto just puts a a shot on net from the corner and it goes in. Sanderson Jaru with the assist there. And then 13 minutes later. It’s Jake Sanderson scoring this time, his fourth of the year and first goal in the month of November. Klo Jaru, Tim Stutla get the assists on that one. Brett Howen made it a one-goal game near the end of the first period. Great play from Mitch Mner to set that one up. Shay Theodore the other assist. But then huge huge momentum goal here for Drake Bathson with 17 seconds left in the period. Finishing off a gorgeous play from Tim Stutz. That all starts with a Jake Sanderson outlet pass. That was the score after the first period. Jack Eel the only goal of the second. It happens two minutes into the period off of a rush play. Barbashev gets it through and then um that new kid whatever his name is 42 there. You probably want Cleven to cover Eel back door like that but whatever goes in onegoal game stays that way until six minutes into the third period. Mark Stone they’re giving it to him unassisted goes off of Tim Stutz skate and into the back of the net. That’s the only one that beat Lenus Almark in a third period that saw the Vegas Golden Knights throw 11 shots. But of those 11 shots, Psy, what seven gradea A opportunities? Yeah, a lot of good chances and Mark had to stand tall. Uh, I really like the way Allark was like, “Nope, I’m not letting this game get away from us. The boys got us off to a good lead. I’m going to shut the door here.” And he does it all the way through overtime into the shootout. Oh man, unreal. Unbelievable. Senator three shooters were Drake Bath, Tim Stutzla, and Shane Pinto. Pinto the only scorer out of the six shots in the shootout. And like you said, the fact that Mitch Mner had to score to keep this one alive. Mitchie Mitchie couldn’t get it done, pal. See you. Sends win 4-3 the final score in this one. We’ll get to what the breakdown was, the stats behind this game. And up next, a Sen Citizen boots on the ground. We’ve had Zack on the show before. Couple years ago, you got to meet him in Chicago. The vibe now very different than when it was that night at the end of my bachelor party where it all came crashing down. That’s Sunday scaries that we don’t need to relive. We’ve got all vibes today locked on senators. You’re listening to the postcast. Today’s episode is brought to you by our friends over at Monarch. Just let them know that locked on senators sent you. Welcome back to the postcast. I’m Ross Levitan alongside Brandon Pillar. The Ottawa Senators victorious in Sin City. They win 4-3 in the shootout. They have 23 shots on goal to Vegas’s 35. Yes, Ottawa had 11 shots on goal in the second and third period combined. Vegas had 11 shots in the third period. Power play goes one for three. Vegas’s Power Play goes one for three. Senators best faceoff team in the league taking on Vegas, the third best faceoff team. Ottawa snaps back just under 55%. Vegas with 33 hits to Ottawa’s 26. There were some big hits out there, too. Shout out Nick Cousins. Absolutely steamrolling his opposition in the second period there. Vegas with 12 blocks to 10 for Ottawa. The expected goals percentage in this game, 54% in favor of Vegas. But do you know what that percentage was in the third period? PZY at five on five. The Vegas Golden Knights headed 74% of the expected goals in that third period. They only score one though and the Senators get the victory in the shootout. We’ll get to what overtime looked like in a little bit, but let’s get to Sin City right now where we welcome in Zack Central Citizen. What’s up, Zack? Great to see that smile. Look at you. It’s good. It’s good to see you guys under better circumstances. No doubt. Well, tell us what the vibe was in the ring. Uh, it was very uh it was very good. I saw a lot of Sense fans there at the beginning and I was I was very surprised by that because usually uh when I go to these games, there’s only like five or 10 of us. So, uh that was pretty cool. Yeah, Zach, I’m glad to see you smiling cuz uh for those people that don’t know, the last time I saw Zack was in Chicago, a five nothing loss after Ross’ Bachelor party. So, we weren’t as vibing then. But were you confident that the Ottawa Senators were going to pull through this whole game? Like Ross said, the third period, Vegas really poured it on. I had a I had a feeling like the last week or so that they were going to win this game. And I had a feeling it was going to be I had a feeling it was going to be in a shootout, but uh what’s the lottery number next going to win? Uh pick 23 and 96. Those are my numbers. Okay. Oh, that’s awesome. So, you’re watching this game. Did you get a decent angle of that Jack Eel shootout attempt? Did they show it on the replay that net cam where you can see the puck? Have you seen it yet? I They showed it like on the second replay like you couldn’t tell like they weren’t like on the on the jumbotron. They weren’t showing like the right angle. So, like on purpose. Oh, yeah. The fans were booing. A lot of boo the boobirds were heavy today for the for the gold team. But uh yeah, and uh and it and it it wasn’t in I guess I No, it wasn’t. There’s a clear view. There’s a clear view. There’s a clear view. Okay, good. At Sen Central, I posted the screenshot where you can see the puck. It’s standing on end a hair in front of the line. It’s unbelievable. Game of inches personified right there with cuz Ollie, sorry for interrupting Ross, but because Oolie was like right on in in the net. So I was like, “Oh, shoot. They they might they might turn that back, though.” But luckily, they didn’t. No, they didn’t. Zach, you’re you’re a Vegas resident. Do you go every year when the sends are there? Yeah, I like to go uh when always when the sends are here, no matter what. I’ll take off from work if I have to. And uh I do sometimes come here when uh the Chicago team that we won’t mention comes to town, but that Yeah. But other than that, I I always want to see my Senators and uh I’m hoping uh if they make the playoffs, I could uh make it to Ottawa this April. I got my passport. Oh, nice. Have you been to Ottawa for a game yet? I was going to go last spring, but I didn’t have any PTO. I I had so much FOMO. I wish I was there. It seemed like a good time. No doubt. Well, yeah, because like you said, there’s not always so many Sens. So, to be among 18,000 of your best friends, that’s an experience you have to have. But tonight getting to see a win in a building where the Senators hadn’t won since 2018. How special does that make it? Oh, very special cuz it’s also my first victory and also it’s the first time I’ve seen the same goalie start the game for the Senators in consecutive games. Omar started last year here in Vegas and he started tonight. So that’s the first time that’s ever happened cuz every time I’ve been to a game so far, it’s been different goalies. Like it’s been Solgard, it’s been Anderson or Neielen or you can name it all the all the guys that we’ve had since Craig Anderson. So yeah, it’s been maybe a Marcus Hogberg start thrown in there just for just for a laugh. Yeah, maybe. So Zach, who’s your Central standout? Boots on the ground tonight. I would I have to go with Pinto or maybe Omar goalie friend Michelle. I mean, he did keep us in it. It felt like in that third period we couldn’t get a shot on goal and it could have been a lot worse than uh what happened. So, we’re very lucky that he uh he held the fourth down. That’s awesome. Pel, you got another one for him? Yeah, Zach, what’s your confidence level now with this team after this win? Like, obviously the road trip starts nice. two regulation 3-2 wins, a close loss against the Kings, but this was the game where you’re like, “Okay, if the Ottawa Senators can find a way to get a win in Vegas, they’re laughing.” So, is your confidence level through the roof now? Yeah, I have to say it’s through the roof right now. I’m still not trying to get my hopes up, but yeah, it’s through the roof. So, Zach, what’s going to happen on Friday if you’re able to see the future? Oh, Barry’s coming back, right? Yep. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yes, sir. Uh, St. Louis isn’t that good. So, maybe another dub. Hopefully. Okay. Give us a score. Give us a score prediction. Uh, I’d say 4-1. Maybe Brady gets a hat-tick. Oh, here we go. Me right up. Brady’s gonna Yeah, he’s gonna he’s gonna be back home. He’s gonna be happy. He’s gonna he’s gonna hit anything that moves. It’s going to be a good game. I thought I thought we were going to see a fight tonight with Hayden Hodkins, but didn’t happen. Stone didn’t want it. Stone didn’t want it. Stone didn’t want it. Yeah, he didn’t want it. He’s the one that got away. Yeah, but he didn’t want it tonight. You want it bad enough? Nope. Nope. You can tie the game, but you ain’t going to win it. Stoner. Hey, everyone can follow Zack on Twitter. Young Zachary 96. Zack, you’re a beauty, man. Keep smiling, eh? Sends get two points in Sin City. Make sure you get those shoulders out back as you walk by. any Vegas fans who say, “Hey, good game tonight. Good game tonight. Let’s keep it uh keep it.” Hey, we’ll see you in Ottawa a little later on this season, but huge win. We appreciate the insight from Vegas. And thanks for joining us tonight. Oh yeah, no problem. And uh before I go, shout out to Gavin and shout out to Chase uh from Wisconsin. I appreciate you guys, fellow Midwest Suns fans. And go Sens. Go Sens. I love how the the Sens bug is spreading all across North America. Again, you can follow Zach on Twitter, Young Zachary 96. There he goes. Boots on the ground reports exclusively on the postcast. Pzy, we got a lot more to get into on this game because it felt like there were multiple games played within it, but the bottom line is your Ottawa Senators have stolen, completely robbed. It’s like Oceans 11 all over again, just going in the vault, having the camera on. No spoilers if you haven’t seen Oceans 11 that came out in what 2003 2004. Yeah, it’s been a while. Yeah. What a sick movie. By the way, they shouldn’t have kept making 121 13. 11 was the one. Of course. 11. Praise Alfie. Alfie gets his first win behind the bench in Vegas. So, that’s got to feel good for him because I I think he was an assistant on DJ Smith’s staff the game before the game that was DJ Smith’s last game as head coach on the Ottawa Senators. But the boys came through clutch tonight getting a 43 win. Three points for Jake Sanderson, two points for Tim Stewart, two points for Clo Jaru in this one. Shane Pinto, give him two points. He gets one, but he also gets the shootout winner. And the Ottawa Senators now improve to 74 and nine in games where Shane Pinto records a point. It is it is truly a remarkable stat. And for those who said, “Hey, this season, you know, there were some losses in there.” They’re 93 and two when Shane Pinto gets a point this season. It’s not quite 26 and one like it was last year, but this is this is completely ridiculous. I’m so glad that I started tracking this because we’re at 97 games right now. The Senators have won 74 out of 97 games. When Shane Pinto gets one point, that’s it. We’re not asking for multi-point games, just one. He gets it. Senators win. More on the other side are Sen Central standouts. And good on Zack. He took the two that were on the tip of my tongue. But we can dive deeper into this one. We’ll get to the chat as well. 300 Citizens at 1:45 a.m. You people are the best fans in the NHL. Who cares about the numbers? The big markets. Just because you have a lot of numbers doesn’t mean that you have the best inclass mentality. And tonight’s third period proved it. Lenus Almer was just one guy. Vegas had 18 putting pucks on him and he said, “Nuh-uh. All good.” More on the other side. You listen to the postcast. Today’s episode is brought to you by our friends over at FanDuel. The postcast is always brought to you by Glee Central Pub and we’ll get to our Sen Central standouts in just a moment, but I’m so fired up to see in the chat everybody watching from all Are you seeing some of these locations, Ross? I don’t know if people are messing with us, but we got Japan, Dubai, uh, Czech Republic, New Zealand, like wild. Yeah, Orleans. Go Richmond in Ottawa. We got You mentioned New Zealand. Did you come back? We got Lincoln, Nebraska. Blake Montgomery’s. Okay. There’s no way Zimbabwe is real. Muk is got to be kidding us. I’m going to believe everybody. I’m going to believe everybody. You’re all Sens fans. You’re all vibing with us. You guys can be wherever you house down on Elgen Street, Smith Falls, Ontario, downtown Ottawa. Oh, the nation’s capital, baby. Let’s go. Unbelievable. The boys are going to St. Louis. Brady Kachchuck’s having every player and all the trainers over for US Thanksgiving dinner. And I mean, it worked having the team dinner in Vegas. So, let’s do it all over again. All this talk about Lenus Almark uh plus one expected goal saved above expected tonight. And that that one goal, I mean, that would have been the difference, Pelysey, between a win and a loss in tonight’s game. So, this to me was a goalie win for Lenus Allar. Yeah, you get goal support all in the first period. Sends her up 3-1. Vegas fights back. They’re an unreal team. Like, they’re they’re dangerous at all times, and they showed that tonight. But for Ottawa to hang on the way they did, man, they got to be thrilled with that. So, Zack’s got Shane Pinto, who had the goal in this game, played 22 minutes, had two shots. Shane Pinto had nine hits in this game. Thank you. I wanted to make sure we said that. Nine hits. That’s got to be a careerhigh for Shane Pinto. Got to be. LOSP stats department will crunch the numbers on that one, but it’s got to be a careerhigh for him. And then he’s got Lena Almar as his other 32 saves in this one. And he was unreal. 914 save percentage. Is that now six straight games with a save percentage above 900 for Lena Almark this season? I got to be I feel like one of the games was weird and he was just under 900 at like the San Jose game he didn’t have a whole lot or sorry yeah the San Jose game his last start he was at 895. You know what we round up on this show so let’s give him the 900. And that’s also in Lenus Almark’s last uh six starts now. He’s got four wins. He’s 4-1 and one in his last six games. So, some very deserving standouts by Zack Senators as a team, by the way. They’re 71-1 when leading after two periods. They’re 3-0 on the road when leading after two periods. That is a nice bit of business. Pillsy, who’s your Central standout in this one? All right. Well, so Allar and Pinto are off the board, correct? You know what? I’m gonna go with Tim Switzler. Uh, two assists in this one. I know a rare game where he has no shots, but two hits, one of them including knocking down Cororac uh, and, uh, causing a little kurfuffle there. 50% in the dot. Goes four for eight. You love that. But I want to highlight Ross, Timmy’s first assist on the second goal because it’s on the power play and Vegas goes to clear it and nine times out of 10 when you’re wristing that puck like they were, that’s getting out of there. But Timmy with the hand eye coordination to knock that down almost like a tip in front of the net where you try to knock down a puck that’s coming in from a point shot and that allows the sends to keep it in there and then eventually gets a Giru and he tees it up for Sandy and scores. But I thought that was an incredible play by Timmy. And then what was his other uh other assist? Oh yeah, it was it was the awesome play where Timmy brings the puck all the way from end to end, spots Ba in the slot right on the tape, and Bathson scores there. So, you love to see that, especially Bath dumped Mitch Mner in front of the net right before that happened, too. Mitch wasn’t happy about that. So, obviously, yeah, you know, I love to see that. Uh, but I just thought Timmy had a good game. It’s not always about scoring goals or getting shots like he was just all over this one. He hits the post in the shootout. Uh, so a good game from Tim Switzell, which was one of our check marks for the Ottawa Centers to find a way to win. I believe I said two-point Timmy. Two assist. There you go. And our good friend Everyday Sens just posted a great photo from that hit you mentioned where Vegas didn’t like the hit that Timmy threw and the Senators literally formed a wall in front of him. Zub, Sanderson, and Ba all just stood in front of him and say, “Buddy, you don’t touch Tim Stuts. It’s not like your captain where you let fourth liners run them in preeason. Our captain is untouchable because he doesn’t miss 30% of the games that his team plays. Tim Stutla is a true superstar in the National Hockey League. And I just can’t believe that he’s 23 years old tonight. Tim Stutzla moved into 10th place all time in points. Yeah. As a member of the Ottawa Sanders. Passed Mike Fischer in half the amount of games. Mike Fischer, pretty good player. passed him in half the amount of games. Not 24 until January. You know who was 24 a long time ago? My sensational stand out Jeru the wy vet in this one. Two assists. Fantastic. He did great on the penalty kill as well. I just love the way he wins draws. His ability in the dot is second to none. He went 12 for 15 in the dot tonight, including five for seven against Jack Eel and five for five against Brett Hen, the two most common opponents for him in this one. Just truly an incredible start to Klo Jaru’s season after everyone thought that he was slowing down. All he needed was to be put on a line with the best defensive players in the National Hockey League. I saw there was uh the hockey stack cards that we like to pull up and look at. They showed who the best defensive forwards are. Michael Amadio’s number one and Shane Pinto’s number seven in terms of their impact defensively on a game. And what we see with Giru added to that line is a bit more offense. No disrespect to Ridley Greg who did perfectly fine on that line last year, but it just adds such a nice element to it. And oh my goodness, Klo Jaru up to 16 points in 23 games this year. That’s back to like not the first season in Ottawa standard where he just scored a bunch of goals randomly set a careerhigh in that category, but if he can be a 60- 65 point player for the Ottawa Senators, now you’ve got depth throughout the lineup. So, shout out Clou. He’ll be my Sen Central standout in tonight’s game. Yep, I like it, Ross. I was going to go there if you didn’t. And how about six for six in the defensive zone on draws and three for three in the neutral zone. So, the only three draws he lost was in the offensive zone. Um, absolutely incredible night for Clo Jeru. Um, did I get lost in the snake? Is it me now or you get back to back? No, no, no. We’ll just snap it back and forth. When it’s a threeman, we do the snake. But speaking of snakes, I think I know where you’re going to go. Yeah. I mean, if this was a uh Ring of Honor draft Ross and I got this value with a pick, what is this, the fifth pick of this one? And it’s a player that had a threepoint night. Fifth pick, eh? Yeah, that’s a good spot for Jake Sanderson to end up actually. A goal and two assists. Jake Sanderson 28 minutes and 1 second. He also has three shots, one block. And sure, he gets beat on that Eel play, but honestly, the fact that he’s able to catch up and put pressure on Eel, like you mentioned, probably does a bit to save a goal there makes Eel not be able to have the time and space he wants. And I thought his power play goal, like that’s the kind of shot we want to see from Jake Sanderson. Low onetime from the point that gets through traffic. Two Vegas Golden Knights players were screening Schmeid on that one. and it goes off the post and in. He had two assists as well. Like just an incredible night for Jake Sanderson. So, it’s good to see him rounding into the Jake Sanderson we all know and love. Absolutely could not agree more. And all three points coming in the first period of tonight’s game. So, my final Sense Central standout. Hm. Who deserves a little bit of loving in tonight’s game? You know what? I almost want to go with Travis Green because he played Jordan Spence in overtime. I was so nervous. This was the first overtime since Tyler Cleven had two shifts and we love Cleven as a player. But that’s not an overtime guy. Jordan Spence is plus one by the way, team leader. Jordan Spence, another plus game. This guy just keeps ringing him out. Ringing him out. But I think I’m gonna go Hm. I’m actually really I’m debating one. I know. I I think I’ll go with Bathson. Over 20 minutes, he he gets that huge goal at the end of the first period. Him and Timmy, their chemistry is unreal. He also had two blocks in this game, which I like to see when BA’s active defensively and making plays. So, yeah, I’ll go with Drake Bath. Plus one in this game as well. Yeah. And uh shout out Travis Green using his timeout correctly in my opinion. Uh, I’ve been really watching how and when or if he uses timeouts. Uh, called the timeout with 49 seconds left when the Vegas Gold Knights were really pressing and was like, “Okay, guys, let’s calm it down. Let’s try to gain possession here.” Obviously, he’s not telling the guys, “Let’s just get this overtime and get the point.” But, I’m sure the message more was like, “Okay, take a breather. Let’s play smart, responsible hockey. if we find ourselves in their zone, let’s try to set something up. But no giveaways, don’t pinch, no riverboat gambling, and came down to the dying seconds and they had an opportunity there. So, I think they played that really well. And that was a game where when you’re winning 3-1 in the first period, you don’t want it to go to overtime or shootout, but that was a I thought a mature win by the Sens because let’s be honest, they were outmatched by this Vegas team, but they find a way to get not only one but two points. So very impressive from this group of guys. So Shane Pinto, Lena Solar, I’m I’m going to mess up the order here, but Tim Stutzla, Drake Bathson, Shane Pinto, and who else did I have? Jake Sanderson. No, we said that. You said Pinto twice there. Oh, did I? Nice. Basically, we just named half the roster said, “Oh, didn’t you do Jordan Spence?” No, no, I didn’t. I chose straight, right? Yeah. Yeah. My two were Bath and Jeru. Thank you very much. So I had Bath and Jaru. You had Sanderson and Timmy. Timmy. Nice 2020 vision by you. And then Boots on the Ground Report. Zack. You can follow him on Twitter. Young Zachary 96. He went with Shane Pinto and with Lenus Almark after the Senators found a way to win this game. I can’t believe it. Senators are 62 and three in the month of November and it’s almost over without Brady Kachchuck beating the Vegas Golden Knights in Vegas. Like I was I was scared of this game tonight in today’s episode of the Lock Centers podcast. I was kind of like, “All right, whatever happens happens. It’s been good so far. You can’t ask for too much.” I love being wrong like that. Ross, I did mention the last time I was this unsure of a win. The Ottawa Centers managed to pull it out. Little reverse jinx by me, but then I stopped the reverse jinx to reverse the reverse and then reverse that. Keep up with me here. So, that’s the mind games that I’m playing to get this team to where they need to be. You’re welcome. Shout out shout out to Aussie. What a vibe cast. Go sends go. And our guy Sean Duncan. Hey, great to see you. We had a blast with him at Martian Palooa a couple years ago. Longtime follower. First time in the chat this year. First time. Sean, let’s go. The boys are buzzing. What a dream of a game tonight. Hey, they hung on at times, but found a way to win. We’ll have so much more coverage on this game, the road trip as a whole, and get ready for Friday’s game in St. Louis on tomorrow and Friday’s locked on Senators. I also had a big hockey night. I literally covered the Belleville game, did the color commentary tonight, boots on the ground. That game wasn’t so good, but I’ll give some thoughts on it tomorrow on the show. Nobody cares about that right now. We care about the big boys here up in Ottawa who are doing their thing and finding ways to accumulate points. And that brings the Ottawa Senators road record this season to 64 and two. And that might only sound like NHL 500 to some people, but anyone know who remembers how much this team struggled to win out west will know how impressive this is. And they also played Chicago. I know it was a loss, but they also played in Chicago already this year. So, they are knocking out these Western games over and over again. More than half of their West games will be already over and done with by the time this trip ends. So, what a way to start it off with a 4-3 shootout win against Vegas. They win in San Jose. They win in Anaheim. They fall in a game where they were in until the bitter end. A one-goal loss against the LA Kings. very stingy defensive team and now Brady Kachchuck’s coming back. So that’s the cherry on top. Pilzy, any final thoughts on today’s show as the clock strikes 2 a.m.? Final thoughts for me is it is wild that there’s 307 people here with us. We love you guys. Uh anytime there’s an opportunity for us to to get together, doesn’t matter what time of the day it is, what time of the morning it is. Ross and I are fired up to do this and it means a lot that you guys join us. Shout out to Zach, my guy. Getting to have a vibe cast, not a depressed cast like last time. And shout out to Glee Central Pub. Yeah, shout out to everybody. And and honestly, this wouldn’t be what it is. Like the fact that I’m like literally at the edge of my seat just ready for the postcast the moment that the final buzzer goes. It’s just so so much fun covering a team that is winning games consistently and finding different ways to win. That’s also really beneficial and something that feels sustainable for a little later on in the season when things tighten up. They’ve been playing a lot of playoff style games. Think of the two games against LA. Sure, they’re losses, but you can learn from those. Winning in San Jose, it’s not an easy place to play this year. They were playing a lot better. You find a way to win in the third period, not even allow that game to go to overtime. Same with San Anaheim. That was even a later goal than in San Jose. So, just amazing to see the growth of these players. And that’s what we kept saying on LOSP. In 2021, 2022, we’re watching literally NHL toddlers develop into men and guys who will push back when pushed and not break when pressure hits. The Ottawa Senators are finding their game and they are going into a stretch now where they’ve got St. Louis on uh Friday, then Sunday against Dallas, an elite team that’s playing unbelievable hockey. They haven’t lost since they played Ottawa. That’s part of I think a sevengame win streak. And they dummy the Edmonton Oilers yesterday, 8-4. That’s going to be a tough game Sunday. Big time. But Ottawa, the way they’re playing right now, then you go into Montreal on Tuesday, both teams coming back from out west. Montreal played Utah, they’re going to play Colorado, and they’re got another tough game on a three-game trip. that to end the road trip. I was really mad about it before, but dude, if the sends are rolling, like just play whatever comes next. Just keep it going. Keep it going. That’s my final thoughts is just, hey, let’s keep it going, boys. That’s Senators hockey, eh? 4-3 Senators get the victory tonight. We’ll discuss it a whole lot more tomorrow. And uh I already can’t wait. I got my alarm set. I’m fired up. I finally found the real coffee tonight. Yesterday at the Belleville game, I accidentally was drinking decaf. I had four cups of it. I was like, “Oh, four cups of decaf. What a waste.” Nobody told me it was decaf. They had the little stickers out. No, it was in the press box where all the meals are and everything. And there was just no little sign like, you know, like a a placemat thing where it says decaf. They were out tonight. And I looked to my right and there was a big like Gatorade style container that had actual coffee in it. So I just put my mouth under it and open it up and said, “Yep, giddy up.” Oh boy. Hayden Hodson 1 and0 lifetime against Mark Stone. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. That’s it for tonight. Go sends goes in the chat all around. I wish you all the best of luck of winding down after that game. I know I’m going to need to go for a walk and really think this one through because my goodness, the Ottawa Senators, Dan Wallace points out second in the Atlantic Division right now, only behind the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have won five games in a row. So, credit to them. They’re a good team. We knew they would start winning games, but Ottawa’s doing the same. And they are gaining points and points and points without Brady Kachchuck. Unreal. Okay, for Brandon Pillar, I’m Ross Levitan and you’ve been watching the Postcast presented by the Locked On Senators podcast. It’s your team every day.

  1. wow, this one might be a season changing win. i expected us to blow it after leading 3-1 after the first and also after 3-2 at the second break. but we found a way to stand tall after conceding the third. it was close, but we refused to fall and then won it. this could now be crossing the fine line between a reasonably good but predictable team and a real tough team. i work as a mental coach here in germany and i tell you: this was a mental turning point for all the players.

  2. What a win and this was a team building win. Amazing win and Pesky Sens are back. Could not be happier with how this team is playing. Puck hungry, tough on pucks, mojo in place.
