MAJOR Texans vs. Colts Injury Update This Will Impact NFL Week 13

Welcome into Texans Today everybody. I’m your host Jeremy Chugs and coming up on today’s program, the Texans got some good injury news ahead of their week 13 matchup up against division rival the Indianapolis Colts. We’ll look at the Texans injury report from their practice today. also the Colts injury report cuz they have a few injuries of their own that we need to discuss before this week’s matchup. Now, before we get into all the injury news on today’s program, let me know what do you think the score is going to be. You call the shots, you make the call down in the comments section. Predict the score between the Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. And I’ll make you this deal right now. If you watch my live show on Sunday, and yes, I’ll be going live 30 minutes before kickoff, and you correctly predict the score in this video, I’m going to give you a free raffle ticket for our giveaway. We’re giving away a JJ Watt autograph picture this Sunday. So, be there or be square. All right, let’s get into the first injury that obviously everybody wants to know about, everybody wants to talk about on today’s show. It’s CJ Strad. Yeah, let me know down below if you are ready for CJ Stride to come back cuz that’s looks like exactly what we’re going to have a full participant in practice today. And you know, barring a major setback, it looks like QB1 the franchise the wheelin dealing show stealing quarterback for your Houston Texans will be able to suit up this Sunday up against the Colts. And the expectation is this for me. We are gonna see the most motivated CJ Strad that we’ve ever seen before in the National Football League because he’s heard all the noise. He’s heard, you know, all the doubters. He’s seen the screenshots of all the, you know, fake Twitter fingers out there trying to say, “Oh, CJ was mad after the Texans win on Thursday Night Football.” He hears all that and he is going to show everybody up this Sunday whenever he finally suits up. All the doubters, everybody’s saying, “Oh, the Texans should get rid of CJ Shroud.” They’re better off without CJ Shroud. He heard it. He knows it. And I expect him to absolutely go off this Sunday for your Houston Texans. And what better timing than up against a division rival, one that he’s actually had a very, very good time against in his time in the NFL. In four games, he’s three and one, a completion percentage of 69. Nice. 8 1,167 yards through the air. Seven touchdowns, only one interception, and a QB rating of 110.9. I really do think CJ Strad was hitting his stride before he got that concussion in the Broncos game. He looked really good up against the 49ers. The first two drives that he was with the Houston Texans in that game up against the Broncos, they were able to move the ball all the way down the field. They got stopped in the red zone, which that’s more of a team problem than a CJ Strad problem, but they were moving the ball. He looked good. He was getting the ball out on time. He was very accurate in that game. And he looked maybe in his best game in the past two years, the week prior up against the San Francisco 49ers. And this is a massive game for your Texans squad because if they win this, I mean, that puts them squarely in that playoff hunt, that playoff race. like they with a loss, they still have a decent chance to make the playoffs. Yes, it’s, you know, goes down to probably around the 20% mark, but they win this game. That shoots up to around the 60% mark for the Texans to make the playoffs this year in a highly contested AFC conference. And I think the Texans, CJ Strad, they’re going to be ready to go this Sunday. And he’s not the only Texan that is returning from a concussion. Also, Jaylen Petri, he was not a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was a limited participant, but I also do believe he looks like he is trending in the right direction, ready to play this Sunday up against the Colts. And that’ll be big for this Texans defense that has played fantastic. They look they’ve looked awesome, but they’ve been running a 4-3. And their base package is a 425. They haven’t been able to do that as much with Petri being out. Now that he’s back in the lineup, they I expect them to run more of these five defensive back sets that they did in the beginning of the season. Rookie Jaylen Reed had one of his best games. Not not one of his, he had his best game this past week up against the Buffalo Bills. I expect him to be at that strong safety spot. And then Jaylen Petri manning the nickel where Miles Bryant kind of stepped in. He played pretty good for this Texans defense. But you insert Jaylen Petri that allows Miles Bryant to help out and rotate at one of the safety spots. Maybe, you know, rotate in with Jaylen Petri so he doesn’t have to play 100% of the snaps at the nickel. And then you obviously have the two-headed monster of Derek Stingley and Kamari Lasser on the outside. Petri and Strad will be welcome additions back to the lineup this week. And I expect both of them to progress throughout the week and end up playing on Sunday, barring any major setbacks. I think both those guys, even though they’re not officially cleared with concussion protocol just yet, I expect both those guys to be ready and suited up by Sunday, barring any major setbacks to both of those individuals. All right, let’s go into the Colts injury report now because they have some major injuries on their side of the football as well. Let’s look at DeForest Buckner who still on IR. So, he will not be suiting up for Indie this weekend. That is a big part of their defensive line, one of their best um interior, you know, defensive linemen and somebody who gets a lot of pressure up the middle for Indie. he will not be playing. And that’s that’s a good sign for your Houston Texans who they’re starting to put it together on the offensive line. You know, they ended up moving Titus Howard into that left guard, right guard Evan Ingram, and they’ve been or uh Ed Ingram, and they’ve been going with Trent Brown at the right tackle spot. But DeForest Bucker not going to play this Sunday, but should be back for the Texans second meeting with the Colts in week 18. Another player that was just placed on IR, Ashton Doulan. And you know, you’re probably saying, “Who?” He doesn’t make a big impact on offense as a wide receiver, but Ashton Doulan is one of their primary kick returners. They also have Josh DS, but Dulan has been the guy who’s been a big, you know, member of their punt return team this year, and without him, you’re going to have to go to a couple other guys. Maybe they’re susceptible to a muff punt here or there. Just putting it out in the universe. now just putting out a muff pun in the universe with Ashton Doulan being out this week like I said just placed on IR yesterday. So that is another big loss for Indianapolis and somebody who is going to play but we got to look out for on the injury report. Daniel Jones, he was limited this week and you know their head coach Shane Styikin said he expects Daniel Jones to be fully ready to go this Sunday. He does have a injured fibula which does affect his mobility just a little bit and that could be pretty big up against the Houston Texans who we all know as we saw in week 12 up against the Buffalo Bills have a vaunted pass rush. This factors into his mobility and you know like I said this could be a huge factor in the game. If Jones isn’t able to avoid the rush, avoid sacks, the Texans, they could have another massive game in terms of getting to the quarterback, maybe even doubledigit sacks up against the Colts. I know they have a really good offensive line, but we’re able to keep up on the back end in our, you know, pass coverage with Tamari Lasser, with Derek Stingley, Kaylin Bulock, and give the pass rush maybe a couple extra seconds. They could definitely get to Daniel Jones and get him on the ground. Now, his worst game of the year so far, Daniel Jones, he got sacked seven times by the Atlanta Falcons, which I I’ll just say this, not no team, no shade, no pink lemonade to Atlanta. Texans pass rush is much better than the Falcons pass rush. So, what say you? Will the Texans sack Daniel Jones more than seven times? Give me a yes, give me a no down in the comments section. Do you think the Texans are going to get after Daniel Jones on Sunday? I’m going with a big fat yes. This pass rush is hitting its stride at the perfect time. Will Anderson Jr. looks like the best player in the NFL, not named Miles Garrett. Those two guys are neck andneck for maybe the best defensive ends in the NFL this season. And you also factor in Denil Hunter, the other guys on the defensive line. you’re looking at, you know, they got pressure with Tim Settle got a sack. Henry Toto got a sack on a blitz last week as well. And then the other guys that rotate rotate in, right? Denica Wattry, he was on the um injury report this week, but you know, he’s been on it every single week as an older veteran player, so they usually kind of let him have some rest days at the beginning of the week. You look at, you know, even the rotational edge rusher guys like a Dylan Horton, he’s looked pretty good. Derek Barnett has gotten some sacks as well. So, I fully expect this Texans pass rush to pin their ears back and get after Daniel Jones, especially if they’re able to get this Colts offense on third and long situations. Watch out because this defensive line will be ready to go up against Indie. Now, another key injury for the Colts that came through this week, S Gardner, somebody who they traded for at the deadline. It was maybe the biggest splash of the NFL trade deadline. He is limited with a back injury going into this game and that’s big because Nico Collins has been hitting his stride although with Davis Mills at quarterback but he’s looked really good the past couple weeks. If S Gardner isn’t able to go or is not at 100%. Look for Nico Collins in those one-on-one situations. Maybe in the red zone, maybe in, you know, long down situations where it’s second and long, third and long. Look for Nico Collins to feast if he’s placed in one-on-one coverage, even if it is against Sas Gardner because Nico Collins, like I said, he’s been hitting his stride. He’s been looking awesome the past couple weeks. And if Sas Gardner is even just a little bit affected by this back injury, which I’ve had a back injury, I don’t know how you’re not affected by a back injury with your mobility. Look for that to be a key factor as well on Sunday. And lastly, Neville Gallammore, another defensive tackle. We already talked about DeForest Buckner. He’s still on IR. Another guy who has played pretty well for them this year. Three and a half sacks, 25 tackles on the season for the former Dallas Cowboy. He is also limited with a knee injury. So, no, you know, full-on status for these guys going into Sunday. We obviously have to watch as the week progresses and watch that injury report as it gets closer and closer to game time, but something to monitor for sure if you’re a Houston Texans fan.
