Deni Avdija Postgame Media Availability | vs San Antonio Spurs | November 26th, 2025
Denny, first off, just how disappointed are you guys to to lose this one? And obviously losing in a game stinks, but then losing one that limited the cup as well. I feel like uh I’m not saying disappointed. I’m saying more like I we wanted it. We wanted that game. It was a good opportunity for us to advance in the cup and uh we fought. We try to we try to be in the game. It was a tough game. It was a close game. feel like it was kind of like a first taste of kind of like a playoff game. Um, and I know I’m not experienced, a lot of the guys are not experienced yet, and I feel like it’s a it was a good test for us, but I think from this game we can learn a lot. And I’m going to take this loss as a learning a learning um thing. What would you say is the biggest thing you’ve learned or would learn from it? The biggest thing I learned, got to watch the game again. But for my uh my eyes, just we got to be uh better closing out on defense. We’re doing a great job on defense. Uh the box outs weren’t there today. A lot of offensive rebounds for for San Antonio to for second chance points and it kind of killed us. Um we needed to keep shooting. Yeah, I know the ball wasn’t going in a lot today, but um it happens happens to the best and uh we got to keep moving forward. Thiago was talking about how he was frustrated that uh you guys that they weren’t doing stuff that you guys typically do as far as like forcing turnovers, offensive rebounding. Yeah. Um they did a good job today. I feel like as I said, they they they were good on the offensive glass. They were doing a good job boxing us out on the offensive rebound like on defensive rebound and uh they kind of played very similar stuff to how we play and uh they ended up uh winning but I feel his frustrations totally. Are you going to be able to enjoy how well you played individually after a game like that or are you just thinking about how it ended in in the loss? I mean, at the end of the day, I, you know, I tried um to do the best I can. Um, being aggressive, playing my game, not really something, but um definitely not satisfied cuz uh this game is all about winning and uh I really wanted the next round. So, I’m going just set myself on the shoulder, I guess, and continue moving forward. It’s about us. It’s about the team. You said you thought it was kind of like a playoff game. Uh, do you feel like this is just part of the process of this team’s growth? For sure. For sure. And I think we’re down a lot of bodies, but a lot of players are stepping up and I’m so happy to see the competitiveness, the next man up mentality. And um, as I said, we’re not experienced in playoff yet, but I definitely can see the potential of this team. And we’re so young, man. It’s so fun. You know, it’s even if we lo even even if that we lose, it’s just fun playing with the guys. I I don’t feel like we getting destroyed like I have experienced in years past. We’re fighting. Everybody wants to win. Everybody’s on a string and that’s what make this team special. Even if we lose, like I’m I’m happy on the way we’re losing because we’re learning and we’re growing. Would you say even though you lost, this is a game where it was for something, but at the end it’s not the players or the finals. So, isn’t it maybe kind of good that you experience something like that in just an NBA cup that you learn out of it that hopefully this won’t happen again then and potential playoffs? 100%. 100%. And that’s exactly what I said is I think it was uh it was a disappointing loss, but it was a good loss for us to learn because we’re going to be in those positions in the future. We’re going to be in those positions in the future and I feel like uh it’s good for us. Obviously, we wanted to win, but definitely a good test for us for years to come. Fore [Music] speech. Sorry. Jeremy There [Music] Fore speech.

The guy need shooters. put a 40+% c&s guy next to Avdija and he's gonna end up at nearly 50%. and it will make the offense very hard to stop.
In Hebrew he is also backing up his mates. great teammate.
This dude is only 24 years old and has already 5 years of experience. He is so mature and so smart like a much veteran โฆ I just donโt know how will it work with Dame on the roster next year
Allstar

He is one of the smartest player in the NBA!!
Talk about your shitty team for god's sake if i were him i would go nuts saying trade everyone like bro watching him pulling 3 ppl to the paint and camara and grant shooting bricks like holy deni stattistics aside blazers had 14% from 3
The answer in Hebrew was much more profound and telling that the other answers and questions.
I hope theyโll add subtitles so English speakers could understand what he is saying.
Such a special kid
Well it's like this. First: they need to get healthy and get their players back. Second: they are one of the WORST shooting teams in the NBA so STOP shooting 3's and take a step closer (mid-range boys). Third: when a shot goes up, EVERYONE turn toward the basket and BOX OUT a player. Fourth: VALUE EACH possesion. You have 24 seconds to get the BEST shot you can find. Do not be in a hurry and jack up a 3 point shot that you have a 75% chance of missing. Fifth: on defense, stop running "past" the man shooting a three point shot. Instead, here's an idea, BOX HIM OUT !!!!!!!!!!! Sixth: when running a fast break, the dribbler needs to be in the middle with teammates on each side. This gives you pass options. Then drive the ball TO THE HOOP! DO NOT kick it out for a missed 3 point shot. Instead, attack the rim and score or get fouled and go to the line and get the team in foul trouble. This is allBASIC basketball that the "best players in the world" do NOT understand.
If Jrue had been able to play the Blazers would have likely won

What a leader !!
You represent the best of us !
Lets go BLAZERS!
This man is a leader.
Hebrew part:
Question: from your recent success and from some of your teammates recent struggles this results in the team counting on you more. Do you feel comfortable with that situation?
Deni: I have never been in this situation before, I was never the team's main ball handler and playmaker, being in this situation helps me learn a lot, I feel responsibility to share the ball and find my teammates in a their spots and communicate. It does put some weight on my shoulders but at the same time I enjoy being the one to get everyone in rhythm. There are nights that i do it better and nights that i do it worst but again, it's new to me so I try to learn
Question 2: a good example for this is in the third quarter when you hit a couple of threes but still in the last play you passed to a better shot for Jeremy. Did you think about that or…?
Deni: that's the player I am, I always try to find the right pass, I dont force myself on the game. There are nights where somebody else gonna have his night and I'll need to find him for good looks, I know that when I drive often the defense collapse and I feel that it is my responsibility to find my teammates, and that's my game and I feel like that's the way to win.

He is not only a superstar of the sport.
He is also incredible leader.
Every team needs a turbo in their roster
For those of you who don't speak Hebrew he said:
"I don't care how many Palestinian children starve to death, we're not giving them their land back"
What is his second Language!!!!!????
