RUMORS: Will Brooklyn Nets TRADE Michael Porter Jr. and Nic Claxton amid Their HOT Starts?
On today’s show, are Michael Porter Jr. and Nick Claxton among the NBA’s top trade candidates this season? When will the rest of Brooklyn’s rookies enter the rotation? So, just wanted to say to all of you guys, happy Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for all of you in this Net’s community that continue to listen to me, support my work, and allow me to do this amazing job for a living. It really has been a dream come true. But getting on into your takes and questions. First question, thoughts on the debate of either trading MPJ and Claxton at their at the peak of their value this season versus keeping them for the 20 2026 27 season when we should hopefully have drafted a top pick and are trying to start competing. And this is going to be one of the main questions surrounding the Nets or main storyline surrounding the Nets as we get closer to that trade, the beginning of trade season on December 15th and near the trade deadline. Nick Claxton and Michael Porter Jr. are both playing very high level basketball. They’re players that they aren’t necessarily not fit for the Nets timeline, but they’re an older players on a team that clearly is embracing a youth movement and rebuilding. So, it’s going to be a question about whether or not the Nets are going to cash in on these guys and try to trade them. And in the conversation, I would say that I think the Nets will be open to trading either, but I don’t think they necessarily have to be in a rush to move either. As with any trade conversation, it’s going to depend on the return. I’ll take these both, you know, individually, MPJ and Claxton. And for MPJ, I would say that I’ve said I did a whole episode about it. I think that the way that he’s playing has made it more likely that he could be traded this season, but I still think that it’s unlikely overall. And I think that he’s going to have a lot more value probably when he’s an expiring contract next year, this sum, next summer, or into next season. I think it’ll be easier to move him then. So, I could definitely see the Nets waiting until the off season. And I would say that it that is probably the most likely outcome. I mean, since the Nets traded for MPJ and that CJ deal, the, you know, sentiment around the league has been that people expected the Nets to try to look to flip him after this season when he isn’t expiring. Whether that’s next summer, whether that’s at the deadline, we’ll see. But I do think that the way that MPJ is playing brings in brings in an interesting conversation because he could have value this season. There could be teams that could talk them in, talk themselves into him helping them through the stretch run of this season into the playoffs. I think also think that it breaks into conversation of do the Nets potentially view him as a piece that they’ll hold on to as they’re trying to compete next season and moving forward. All of that is going to be interesting, but I think that MPJ is a guy who I would be more confident in the Nets looking to trade next season as oppo as opposed to this year when it might be a little bit harder when he has a season and a half remaining on his contract. As for Nick Claxton, it could be a similar conversation because Nick’s contract is descending. It goes from a 16.4% cap hit this season to 13.9% next season and 12% the following season. So, it could be a little bit easier to move in a trade next season or the season after because there’s less years remaining and it’s at less money, a a lower cap hit than what it is right now. But I would also say that Nick Claxton is healthy right now. He’s playing the best basketball of his career, at least offensively. And we know from experience with Clax. There’s no guarantee that that continues. Like the health or the high level offensive play, like there’s no guarantee. So, the Nets could have an opportunity to sell high on Nick at this year’s deadline. And it all and it all comes down to their valuation of Nick. Do they think that this is a player that they can move forward with as their starting center, their guy in the middle moving forward? I just did an episode with Lucas Kaplan about Noah Clown’s breakout and him potentially looking like a guy who could be a starting power forward moving forward. So with that, do you have concerns about the way those two, you know, their slight frames, the way they struggle on the defensive glass, protecting the paint, all of that? So how does that factor into the conversation? But ultimately just depends on the Nets valuation of Claxton. if they think that he could be a long-term piece for them, obviously they’re going to be in no rush and they’ll hold out for a price that’s going to blow them away. But if they’re not so high on that, if they think that they can backfill that center position through the draft or they have Dron Sharp, Danny Wolf, maybe they’re confident in those guys, maybe there’s another avenue that they can go to fill that center spot. If that’s the case and you have Nick right now playing the best offensive basketball of his career and he’s healthy and looking rejuvenated and we don’t know how long that’s going to last because we know he has the back issues and some of that that could put the Nets in a position where it might be better to sell high at the deadline. So all of that is going to depend on their evaluation of him. Does he continue playing this well? Does he continue to look healthy? What does the market and the appetite look like around the rest of the league? How needy are teams for centers? So that’s how I’m seeing that. Next question on that note, hypothetically, what team do you think Nick Claxton would be most likely to be traded to if he does get moved and what would be the return and where would you like for him to go? And I’ve answered this question on prior fan Fridays or a similar question. But I think that you just need to look at the teams that need centers like have a need in the middle whether for a starting big whether they just don’t have any depth at big and I think that there are some teams that stick out like I think the Celtics are an obvious team there. you look at the rest of the league, the Pacers, the Hornets, the Bulls, maybe the 76ers and Lakers can enter that conversation because the Lakers got DeAndre Aton, but we don’t really know if that’s a long-term solution for them in the middle. The 76ers have Joel Embiid and not a lot of depth behind him. We know that Embiid has his injury concern. So, of all these teams, like I think people are going to point to the Celtics because they’re a team that has the most glaring need for a center. But I would say that this season at the deadline, I think the Celtics are probably going to be more concerned with dipping under the luxury tax and getting off that Anthony Simon contract as opposed to bringing in a Nick Claxton at center who makes $26 million. So, I think saving the financials will be a bigger priority for the Celtics. Could they still have interest in Claxton? Sure. But if you’re getting rid of Anthony Simons’s contract at 27 million roughly and then you bring in Nick Claxton who’s 26 million, you have to find another way to dip below the salary cap and give up another piece. So I’m not sure I see that as the most likely scenario. I think that the Bulls I’ve spoken about this before. I talked about it with Lucas Kaplan on MPJ pod that we did. I think the Bulls are a very interesting team in that regard because they have this older player Noolic who they poked around the trademark on. He’s, you know, they’ve been much worse with him on the court this season. He’s obviously an older guy. You have, you know, him as an expiring contract. And then you look at Nick Claxton and, you know, could that be a swap? The Bulls have all of their draft picks. The Bulls also have all of these other, you know, they have other expiring contracts like Zack Collins at 18 million. They have, you know, other guys like uh Kevin Herder. They have, you know, some other small pieces. So, there’s just like a lot of stuff there that aren’t necessarily the top guys in the Bulls rotation. And I think that they would be okay with moving. and then they have all their draft picks. So you have that combination of you know sizable expiring contracts the Bulls aren’t necessarily going to miss moving off of you know whether you talk about a um Zack Collins or you know Vu he does some stuff for them but I’m not necessar I don’t necessarily think they’d be you know crushed to be to have to move on with him if they can get another impact player in the door. So you have that which would you know bringing back an expiring contract for Claxton would bolster the Nets cap space next season add a huge chunk to that. the Nets have draft assets. So you have all that and then you know Nick Claxton going to the Bulls is a younger player that could help them on the interior and some of the areas that they struggle right now. There could be something there now that reconfigures their team because you go from a five out center Nicole Vousvich to a non-floor spacer and Nick Claxton. But I just think that it’s an interesting conversation and there could be something there. So the Bulls are a team I would be looking at and then beyond that there’s a lot of teams that need centers but I’m not sure how motivated they’re going to be to give up assets for a guy like Nick Claxton. So we’ll see. Next question. Any possibility that the Nets can make the following two trades? Nick Quaxton for to the Lakers for Dalton Connect, Maxi Cleba, and Austin Reeves or MPJ to the Warriors for Jonathan Kaminga, Moses Moody, and Buddy Heield. If they do after we add a top eight pick this off seasonason, the rebuild will be done. All right, lots to unpack there. First trade, you said Nick Clax into the Lakers for Connect, Cleba, and Austin Reeves. I don’t really see that as a possibility because I think Austin Reeves is a player that, you know, the Lakers I don’t think they would trade him for Nick Claxton first of all because he looks like a starle player and I also think that they’re going to try to keep him and they’re going to be motivated. Now, there’s going to be a lot of teams in the NBA that have cap space in our competition for that. The Nets being one of them, but any Reeves for Claxton, I just I don’t see that like the Nets in that conversation would probably have to add some draft picks in. I just don’t see it as something that the Lakers would entertain. the other deal MPJ for Jonathan Kaminga, Moses Moody and Buddy Heield. I saw this. I think Kevin O’Connor floated this as a trade idea. And you know, from the Warriors end, I think that they would probably be interested in that because Jonathan Kaminga obviously is a piece that they resigned with the intention of having that salary to include in a trade. I don’t think that he’s a fit there. You know, Moses Moody has had some good games. Buddy Heel like a veteran contributor. I think that, you know, that would make some sense for the Warriors, for the Nets. I’m not sure that they want to, you know, take on Jonathan Kaminga and saddle themselves with him. I’m not sure that he’s necessarily a player that fits, you know, what they’re trying to do in terms of how they’re trying to play. Like you look at the issues that the Warriors are having with him and obviously that’s a different conversation. Like maybe you say Kaminga could come in here and be a centerpiece for the Nets, but I’m not sure that he’s too much of a fit in this shorty Fernandez system given some of his floor spacing concerns, the other ways that he’s struggled to kind of fit into the way that the Warriors want to play in terms of the approach that he has on the court. So, would I rule it out? No. But I’m not necessarily sure that the Nets want to add that kind of money to their books for a guy like Kaminga. I think they probably rather keep their flexibility. But we’ll see. Last question before a break. Do you see Terrence Man Haywood, Highmith, Cam Thomas, or Nick Claxton being moved before the trade deadline considering the new rumors on talks with the Celtics concerning Anthony Simons? So, yes, there have been trade rumors. Mike Scott, you know, broke this the other day about the Nets had conversations with the Celtics over the summer surrounding Anthony Simons and, you know, that obviously being a salary dump from the Celtics perspective. The Celtics are about $12 million over the luxury tax right now and they’re going to want to dip below that to reset the repeater tax. in that conversation like I just touched on it the Nick Claxton for Anthony Simons like that makes sense because you know they need a center but I would also say that I think that they’re more concerned with just dipping below the luxury tax and if they take on Claxton’s money in that deal they have to get off another contract to get below the luxury tax probably like a Sam Hower or someone like that so I’m not sure how likely that is in the Anthony Simons conver conversation I talked about it yesterday like there is a window of money like of salary sending out in on the Nets end where the Nets stay below salary cap and the Celtics dip below the luxury tax and it’s between like 12.4 four million in salary and 15.9 like in that window. If the Nets send out that much, that accomplishes both of those things. If they stay below the luxury tax and can make the trade, they slow stay below the salary cap, excuse me, and can make the trade and the Celtics stay below the luxury tax. And I said, you look at that like the Nets have four guys in Cam Thomas, Don Sharp, Zire Williams, Haywood Highmith, who are all making around $6 million. So, you can package a couple of those guys together to make that happen. You also have Terrence Man who’s 15.5 million. So, right below that 15.6 calf that I talked about. So, he could be a possibility. So, I think that I look at Terrence Man, you know, I don’t think that that’s as much as likely because the Nets made that three three team trade with the Hawks Celtics and the Celtics got Terrence Man essentially in that deal and then salary dumped him or they they had no interest in keeping him and he went to the Nets in that three-team trade. So, how likely is it is it that he would go to the Celtics in this trade? Probably not that likely. So I would look more towards the four guys who are making around six million on the Nets. Cam Thomas, Haywood Highmith, Zire Williams, and Dron Sharp. I would look at those guys. Maybe you package two of those guys. You take back Anthony Simons and you get some kind of draft asset. And Anthony Simons is an expiring contract. So that would, you know, add some cap space to the Nets next season. So that’s how I’m seeing that. But got some more questions about some other potential trades involving the Nets. Also, their rookies. When do some of those guys enter the rotation? So, I’ll give you all my takes on that when I continue locked on Nets after a quick break. The NBA is heating up and Door Dash has found the perfect way to keep fans in their bag all season long. Rolling on through all of your takes and questions. Next one. There are reports for a Celtics trade for Anthony Simons popping up. if the Nets trade for him, whose minutes will be lower? I’m hoping for Martin. So, that depends on who the Nets send out in the trade, but I’d say if you bring in a player like Anthony Simons, you know, I’m not even sure like how motivated the Nets would be to just play Simons a ton of minutes, you would have to at that point, I think, just because of, you know, the petty player he that he is, and you’re not going to just bury him on the bench. But, it’s just tough to say right now because it depends on who the Nets send out in a deal. Like anytime the Nets are bringing another player like that as the season progresses or just as the season progresses in general like I think you’re looking at the end of the rotation guys of who’s going to lose minutes like I think Tyrese Martin could be in that conversation. I don’t think the Nets are going to banish him from the rotation but his minutes could reduce. I think you’re also looking at guys like you know Jaylen Wilson I think would probably be cut out of the rotation in a lot of these situations. You could also look at Zire Williams who’s struggling and you know was removed from the rotation in the Nets last game. So those kinds of guys I think you could see a guy like Terrence man have his minutes reduced. I think that you know I think that conversation is almost irrespect irrespective of the trade conversation. I think if you just talk about the rookies that are going to need to come up and get more minutes as the season progresses like Danny Wolf, Ben Saraf, maybe Nolan Troy. I just think a lot of these guys who are at the end of the rotation are probably going to see their minutes cut or reduced in that situation. So that’s how I’m seeing that. Next question. Will the five rookies at some point be all called up to play for the Nets this season? I think that there’s a good possibility that as the season progresses, I would expect I I would expect Jorman and Drake Pal maybe to see their minutes increase slightly from what they are right now. And then I would fully expect guys like Danny Wolf and Zire Williams, maybe Nolan Troy. We’ll see how he’s doing. All to get called up as the season progresses and get NBA opportunities because Jordan Fernandez has said that all of the rookies are going to get opportunities at some point in the season. Does that mean all simultaneously? We’ll see. That’s going to be tough to do given that there’s five of them, which is an NBA record. But Jord has said that. He’s also said that the plan is for the rookies to play 60 games between the NBA and the G-League. And these rookies aren’t going to play 60 games in the G- League. So, they’re going to have to get some NBA experiences. So, as the season progresses, I would expect for a lot of the rookies to be called up and will all of them be in the rotation at the same time. We’ll see how the Nets handle that because there are a lot of veterans who are in the rotation and, you know, perceivably have to be getting some minutes throughout the year, but I think that the Nets will make the rookie development a priority as the year progresses because it’s pretty much what they’ve said and they understand what the goal is this season. Next question. Love what Diego and Pal have been doing lately. So ready to see Danny Wolf play though. Give him some of Dron’s minutes. It’s not like he has been so great anyway. Free Danny. So this fan wants to see Danny Wolf in the rotation. I understand that like I think that Danny is, you know, one of the most exciting players in terms of like some of the skills that he has. He’s a 611 ball handler who can do some of these things running, you know, inverted pick and roll sets and like just things that none of these other Nets guys really, you know, have as much of an NBA ready skill set that Danny has in terms of just the ball handling, the passing, some of the flash that he has offensively. But I would say that Danny’s doing well in the G- League, like he’s averaging like 229 and five on like good efficiency. So, he’s flashing some stuff in that regard, but I would say that there also have been defensive struggles there that I’ve seen. There’s also taking care of the ball. Like in the last last G-League game, I think Danny had eight turnovers. I think he’s averaging like four or five turnovers per game there. So, I think that Danny is going to get NBA minutes as the year progresses. But, I think the Nets are going to keep him down in the G-League a little bit longer to, you know, get him acclimated, get him a little bit more pro experience, and also, you know, kind of try to answer the conversation of how do they view him positionally, whether power forward or center. So, I would expect Danny to enter the rotation as the year progresses, but I do think we’re going to have a little bit more of an extended runway where he’s getting some G-League minutes. Got some more questions on this fan take Friday. Some on the Nets tank outlook, some on their roster management. So, I’ll get into all that when I close out Locked on Nets after a quick break. Nets fans are dead set on a one to3 pick, but reality is that has a small chance of happening. We have the picks, but not our own in 2027. Why not go after Trey Young and Giannis to play alongside MPJ for next season and go for it again? Trey will come cheap and Giannis gets cheaper daily. Okay, I’m I’m not Let me address like the tank thing first. He said Nets fans are dead set on a one to three pick, but the reality is that has a small chance of happening. I would disagree with that. I would say if the Nets can, you know, tank properly for the rest of the season and they can get up towards the top of the draft lottery standings, they’ll have, you know, close to a 40% chance of getting a top three pick. So, I wouldn’t say that’s a small chance. That’s a pretty good chance. And then in regard to get Trey Young and Giannis to play alongside MPJ, I mean, you said Trey will come cheap. I think that that’s probably true like relative to what some people think for a player of his caliber that’s like been an all-star in the past. I think that his defensive concerns and all those will, you know, he probably won’t have as expansive of a market as some people think. But I’m just not sure how like much it makes sense for the Nets to invest in this player who makes a lot of money is going to make a lot of money in the coming seasons is due for an extension and has these glaring defensive concerns where he just gets picks that gets picked on in the playoffs. You know, Jordy Fernandez and Shawn Marks talked about it after the draft like multi-positional guys on defense like guys who can make it hard on that end. I don’t think Trey necessarily fits that and that’s why a lot of teams aren’t going to have interest. And the Nets also just drafted three rookie point guards. I know like Trey is a different level of player right now, but I’m not sure it just like it makes much sense for the Nets to give up assets for a player like Trey just given they just use assets to draft three point guards and also pay him a large a large chunk of their books for the coming year. So, I just don’t think that makes much sense. And then you say Giannis gets cheaper daily. I don’t really see that to be the case. I think Giannis is going to have a huge price tag put on him. I think there’s going to be a ton of teams interested on him when the Bucks do finally decide to move on from him. So, do I think the Nets could be out of the net Giannis conversation? Like, I think that they’re not necessarily out, but I think it’s definitely going to cost a lot to get in on him, and I’m not sure how likely that is just because we know that his eyes have been wandering to the team across the river, and we also know that he wants to compete for a championship right now. So, the Nets would really have to sell him on that. And given their current timeline, I’m not sure how much sense it makes you just cash in what would be a huge chunk of their assets for him right now. Next question. Currently, the Nets are the number four slot in the draft lottery standings. What slot is a must to not go below and when would fans hit the panic button? Interesting question. Yeah, Nets are number four slot in the lottery. The Washington Wizards actually just won their second game. The Pelicans won a game recently. The Pacers have won a game recently. So, the Nets are kind of they have the three wins, but they’re back in that conversation of being towards the top. And I think that they will be, you know, a fixture in that conversation for the rest of the year. Like the Nets have won some games, but at the end of the day, they’re still three and 14. If you’re saying like what is the slot the Mets the Nets must not fall below like it’s tough to put just a specific you know slot in the draft lottery standings on that. I think the Nets should just be trying to finish as high as they can. Like that’s the goal this year. I’ve talked about it. You know the Nets gave up a, you know, four pretty much four first round picks to get those two first round picks back, their own 2025 and 2026 picks in that rocket trade. So they they paid a markup and last year they were the eighth pick compared to the Suns pick only being 10th. So, you didn’t see too much from of a payoff from that trade last year. The Suns look a little better right now. So, you know, maybe those picks won’t be as valuable as some people thought, but at the end of the day, like this is the next last chance, it seems like for the foreseeable future because they’re going to be trying to improve and they don’t have their pick next season. The Rockets own that swap. It’s going to be their last chance for some time to get a top player like this in a draft or a like starle prospect at the top of the draft. And the top of this draft is extremely highly regarded, you know, with these guys like Darren Peterson, AJ Deansa, Cam Boozer, even Caleb Wilson, some of these other guys that are entering the conversation. So, the Nets should be, in my opinion, doing everything they can to maximize their draft position. Could that involve trades? Maybe that should also involve playing their rookies a lot as the season progresses. So, they’re three and 14 right now. It might feel like they’re not tanking as well as they could be just because some of the other teams are so bad at the bottom of the standings this year, but I would say that that’s more about just the other teams being so bad. The Nets, the way they handled their roster this off season, have done a lot to try to tank this year. And I think as the season progresses here, while Jordan Fernandez has been playing some veterans early, I think we’ll see a lot more of the rookie minutes and rookie development be a priority as the year progresses. And in turn, I think that will be, you know, better suited or better geared towards them having a better tank outcome. So that’s how I’m seeing that. Last question. Why do the Nets two-ways, EJ Liddell and Tyson Etn never play on Long Island and sit on the bench in Brooklyn? Shouldn’t they play somewhere? And what about a third two-way like all the other teams have? So why EJ Liddell and Tyson Etn aren’t playing in Long Island? I would say just because the Nets have three rookies playing in Long Island right now and they have a lot of other guys on that team obviously. So there’s it’s a crowded Long Island rotation just because the Nets have so many first round picks this year and a lot of those guys are getting, you know, close to 30 minutes a game in the G-League. So that’s probably why EJ Liddell and Tyson ETN are not down there. Shouldn’t they play somewhere? Like yeah, it could be bene beneficial for them to play in Long Island. But I would think ultimately it’s way more of a priority for these rookies, these rookie first round picks to get the minutes with that G-League team as opposed to like EJ Liddell and Tyson ETN coming in there and taking up some ball handling responsibilities. In regard to a third two-way, I’m not sure why the Nets haven’t filled their third two-way spot right now. It seems like they just haven’t found a player that they like at that spot. I would say, you know, with EJ Liddell and Tyson ETM, like both good guys, both play hard. know the Nets organization likes them and what they bring just around the facility, but probably not either long-term pieces. And those two-way spots can be valuable. Like we saw the Nets get a guy in um Tyrese Martin. They signed him to a two-way and then they converted into a standard deal and now he looks like a guy who has potential to be a legit like end of the rotation or not end of the rotation probably on a good team, but like end of the standard contracts on the team like back end. Could he be a fill in if some guys get hurt throughout a season? I think he’s showing promise to do that. So those two-way spots can be valuable. I don’t think that EJ Liddell or Tyson ETN are going to be guys who really turn any turn into anything for this Nets team and they do have that third two-way spot open. So a little curious in how they’ve been handling that and I would expect them to try to fill that and maybe they have someone in mind as the year progresses who could be an option there. So we’ll see how that plays out. But that’s all I got for you guys today on this fan Friday edition of Lockdown Nest. Thank you to all of you who continue to submit questions and allow me to do this. Do you think the Nets should trade Michael Porter Jr or Nic Claxton this season? What package would it take for you to move them?
lol how much cap space is enough though?
Yes… stack picks… we need a 1st round pick for 2027…
MPJ is making too much money for him to be traded on his current contract. MPJ would have to not only play at an All-star level but also show an oversized impact in terms of impacting wins. I think we should keep Nick. We need some continuity on our team and someone with experience as a Net.
I am going to break down the roster into THREE categories in prep for trade season to begin: LISTEN, EXPLORE, AND MOVE.
Listen: A player you are not looking to move but would listen if the deal is really good.
Explore: You making phone calls for good deals but youâre not getting fleeced.
Move: This a player where itâs time to get some value out of them in a trade Or they really donât have much utility Or hinder the Nets rebuild in some fashion.
Players:
Listen:
MPJ- He is in the Listen category. For what he is actually producing his contract looks like a bargain compared to some of the contract out there. You still need some good players on the roster especially for next season when the Nets have a terrible Houston pick swap. So unless the Nets somehow get that swap back from Houston they have to have some ability to get better by season. MPJ isnât untouchable but they shouldnât be just moving him for a shitty deal like the one reported where we give him to Golden State for a shitty package of mid players. No thanks. You hold on to MPJ who is on two years and trade him next year if you want.
Claxton- Another listen player but much closer to Explore then MPJ is. Claxton is on a very team friendly contract and for another three seasons. For the same reason I gave for MPJ you have to have some talent next season to compete for at least a play in game. I believe Danny Wolf should be the future but Claxton shouldnât just be moved just to move him.
Explore:
Cam Thomas is explore. He is hurt and has a no trade clause but the more he is out the more his time with the Nets is coming to an end. They shouldnât quickly work with Thomas to find a landing spot that works for him.
Sharpe-Another explore player. I am not a big Sharpe guy. He has some elite rebounding skills but his lack of length at really on 6â9 and lack of explosive athleticism limits him. He also has poor basketball iq which makes him fouls prone. With Danny Wolf coming on strong I donât see a sufficient role for him moving forward. Itâs time to see if you can get two seconds for Sharpe and move on.
Move!!!
Terrance Mann- this is easy for me. He is a pretty average 3d wing who honestly will slowly loss time to Drake Powell. Time to cash in and send him to a contender.
Zaire Williams- He is on a team friendly and we did a great job rehabilitating him nowâs to time to flip him.
Haywood Highsmith- Another veteran worth moving if he is healthy.
Lastly-
The future of the team is Demin, Wolf, Powell, Clowney, Treore and Saraf. I believe MPJ is still young enough to be considered a really good complementary guy for anyone you might bring in through free agency and who ever they draft in 2026.
My focus come trade deadline would be figuring out what Houston needs to give up that swap and explore deals with them that get it done.
Fred Van fleet is out with a season ending injury he is a potential salary dump for Houston at 25 million for this season and the next. Is there a deal where the Nets who have 30 million in cap could send Cam Thomas to Houston for the Salary Dump of Fred Van Fleet and the canceling of their swap in 2027? That is something to explore. The nets who be granting Houston a substantial cap relief.
All I ask is for Sean Marks to get a FRP if they do a deal to take on Simons' salary dump. When you are the ONLY team that can take on the contract and give the Celtics tax relief, you hold the leverage. The Nets have 20 2nders, they don't need another one. Get an FRP or take the Celtics to pound sand.
Trade Mpj keep clax home grown
Claxton for Nikola Vooch's expiring contract and a first round draft pick is a very good clean deal for Brooklyn that opens up $20 million in cap space next summer â đ đ§….
Porter jr having. Back issues. Trade highm
Trade claxtonif we get great return.
