the New York Rangers HAVE TO MAKE these TRADES…

The New York Rangers season has definitely not gone to plan so far as they are currently of course on the outside looking in of a playoff spot and that even counts a wildcard spot. But I think of course at some point as we get closer as the days go along here to the NHL trade deadline. There is always of course the possibility of this team looking to make a trade and that could be on the kind of more so buying side of things where maybe they look to target a bit of a younger player who could be an impactful piece for right now and also the future or maybe they look to go out there and possibly you know trade away a big piece like on Tammy Paneran of course. So, in today’s video, we’re going to take a look at a couple of different trade rumors from some pretty reliable sources, of course, that, you know, we’re just talking about some possible trades that could go down at some point. And obviously, the Rangers could be one of those teams involved in one of these possible deals. So, let’s get right into it here. And we’re going to start off with the first piece of news, and that is from Elliot Freriedman talking about a possible trade situation with the Nashville Predators. And these all were posted on X by NHL Rumor Report, but he goes on to say, “I think Barry Troth, the National Predator General Manager, is calling around. I’ve heard he’s called on maybe a young player or two. I stress this. Not like the Yo-kim CamL’s, not those kind of guys, more like Luke Evangelista or something like that. And possibly adding in a guy like Luke Evangelista to the mix, I think, would be a pretty great idea. This is someone who is still only 23 years old. He does not turn 24 until February. So, you know, still pretty young. And it’s not like you be picking him up just as a kind of, you know, piece for the next couple years. He could be someone that could be around for the next decade plus if you traded for him now, for example. He’s still only 23, turning 24. Like I said, he’s a 6′ 183 lb right-winger. He’s a right-handed shot forward. But this is someone who was a former second round pick. you know, was a pretty highly rated prospect back before he, of course, has, you know, really broken into the NHL, but he’s been a pretty good NHLer for a few years now. He’s put up some pretty good point totals. I I think there’s still definitely a lot of room to develop possibly. He hasn’t really been given a massive opportunity on this Predators team yet, even though they are of course not that great of a team. his career numbers like average price time per game over 193 games played so far at the NHL level since his rookie season back in 2022 23 so the last four consecutive seasons he’s averaging about 14 minutes and 28 seconds per night this season is up to 1555 but still he’s not getting a massive opportunity yet so I think this is a player who’s you know putting up some good numbers right now he’s got 11 points in 21 games played two goals, nine assists. You know, last year had 32 points in 68 games played, 10 goals, 22 assists. And his career so far, he’s got 193 games played, 97 points, and is someone who has been producing at a pretty good level at even strength as well for the most part. So obviously he’s not some elite forward, but this is someone who’s still young and can fit this kind of timeline and could just be a really nice ad possibly to fit in you in a third line role maybe of course to just kind of you know be put there instead of a guy like Connor Shiri for example you know to add in a little more kind of scoring with this team to tell us offensively and this is someone who you maybe does have some more room to kind of develop into that you know true top six guy that he was kind of seen as possibly being one day. Now, of course, he’s gotten some decent looks with the pres, but you know, still 15 minutes 55 seconds there doesn’t seem like he’s getting the biggest opportunity yet. And with the numbers he’s putting up, I as a Rangers fan would definitely love to see this team go after him. I don’t think he’d cost a crazy amount, and he definitely could be a pretty nice pickup that wouldn’t cost a ton. And next up here, we’ve got a little bit of news from David Pagnota as he goes on to say, “Carolina’s mentality. If there’s a big fish out there, they’re going to look to take a swing at him. If it involves Fetchnikov, okay, they’ll have those discussions.” And it’s not to say that I think the Rangers are definitely going to trade Paneran at this moment. I think there’s definitely a possibility that they don’t. and you know making a big trade with Carolina in division especially if this team is you know still by or around the trade deadline time of course still looking to make playoffs it’ll be a bit of a tough decision I’m sure to you know possibly trade him to a division rival but if you are able to get a package like the Islanders got back for you know Brock Nelson at last year’s deadline picking up like a firstrounder Callum Richie a former firstrounder and like another pick I believe as well I think if you can get that kind of a package or maybe even a little more possibly or if it has to be a slight bit less. Even that I think would be a pretty good move for this Rangers team. I think no matter what happens, probably not bringing back Paneran is more than likely the better kind of situation going forward for this Rangers team. I just don’t think he’s going to be that guy, you know, come playoff time to really get the job done. And we’re obviously seeing him kind of regress a bit this season, I think. And last year, he took a bit of a step back from where he’s been at previously. So, I don’t think he’s that guy anymore as good as he’s been in past years for this team. I don’t know if we’re going to see him quite get back to that. That’s not to say he can’t still be like a 90 point player possibly, but I just don’t think we’re going to still have that kind of top level Paneran that we saw a few years ago. So, I think now if you can get back some good assets, you trade him away, you open up that cap space to go out there and, you know, add in some other players possibly via agency. But if you’re able to do something like you did with trading away Keandre and you know instead of using like an 8 and a half mil kind of cap on him for example you trade him away you get back a first and second rounder plus a pretty good right-handed defense prospect who’s you know NHL ready pretty much there in Scott Mororrow. So you get first second and a good prospect plus you end up opening up enough cap space to go out there and sign a guy like Gabov and have a little extra cap space as well. So you got a first, second, good prospect, Vladis Gaov, a true top pairing caliber defenseman on a phenomenal contract all for pretty much trading away Keandre and you get an extra like milk and cap. So I I think that’s where if you can do something kind of like that where you trade Paner in a way you get back some assets you use that money in in a smart way whether that’s you know going out there and signing like an Alex Tuck possibly in Fregency or a Nick Schmaltz or whatever else is out there because they’re going to be some solid players out there in agency. Not going to be a ton of great options but they’re going to be some pretty good and solid players out there. mainly forwards for the most part, couple decent defenseman. But if you open up that cap space, you know, use those assets in a smart way, possibly in a trade or signing, I think that could be what’s kind of best for this Rangers team going forward. As of right now, I don’t want to bring back Paneran. I just don’t think that’s the best move going forward. Like I said, you know, I just don’t think he’s quite as good as he’s been in the past. and even when he was at his peak in the past, he never was that guy come playoff time to really kind of put the team on his back and, you know, really drive the offense. So, I think that’s where, yes, come, you know, regular season time, of course, he’s for the most part going to be that top offensive threat. Each and every single season, he’s been a part of this Rangers franchise. He has led this team in points. But I I think as of right now, if he’s looking to get a three-year deal with a cap hit like above like even like 10 and a half, 11, I just don’t think that’s what’s best for this Rangers team. So, if they are able to get him to wave that no move clause and you can trade him away, I definitely think that’s what’s best. And if it’s to Carolina, I think that’s okay. He’s not someone who I I’m kind of worried about, you know, signing longterm and being an absolute threat for the next decade plus, of course. So that’s where I think if Carolina’s trading for him, they’re probably not bringing him back. I just don’t think that’s going to happen there if he’s looking to really still get top dollars. So that’s where you get back some assets. He probably just walks away anyways and then you don’t have to worry about him, you know, probably signing there long term. And I think if you can get back those assets, like I said, and go out there, sign someone at agency or just trade for someone else, I think that’s probably the smart move for this team heading into the future. as of course as of right now they’re probably not going to win a cup of course this season. So I don’t think looking for this season and next season is kind of what’s best for this team. I think you got to look towards the long-term future at this point and keeping around a guy like Paneran probably is just not the best for that scenario. And at the end of the day with the Paneran situation as well of course it is going to come down to him. Even if the Rangers want to trade him, it comes down to Paneran and whether or not he’s willing to wave that no move clause because he’s got that full thing. He can decline any single trade. There’s no 10 or 20 team no trade list. He’s got everything blocked off. So, if he doesn’t want to go, he’s not going anywhere. So, it’s up to him if he wants to end up getting traded away. And that’s if the Rangers even want to trade him away. I have no idea as of right now. But to me, the Rangers, of course, you know, made a big trade with Carolina involving a younger player who was, of course, clearly going to be around there longer term. The Rangers made that signing trade deal. They signed him, of course, to trade him away. So, I guess they weren’t too afraid, of course, of, you know, Keandre being some superstar around there long term. Paneran’s obviously an older player, so he’s not going to be around there for even if he somehow did resign for a super long time, which like I said, I don’t think he’d be back. So to me, trading with Carolina involving Paneran is not something to worry about long term. And I think, like I said, if you really can get those assets, I think that would be such an amazing move for this team to be able to use that cap space elsewhere, get back some good assets, and kind of continue with this bit of a retool/reshaping of the roster and kind of taking it in a much younger direction, which I think is obviously what’s best for this team going forward into the future as they hopefully will get back to winning a cup for the first time in a very, very long time. Do you want to see the Rangers go out there and trade for a young maybe potential top six caliber forward like a Luke Evangelista? You know, a former kind of top prospect, you know, former second rounder, a pretty highly rated prospect, very talented guy. Do you want to see him go after young players like that? Or do you want to see a Paneran trade happen? Do you want to see both those kind of scenarios happen? Let me know your thoughts on these trade rumors. I’ll catch you next one and bye.

  1. Trade panarin, im tired of his passing give aways and defensive play. Yes he scored and assisted, but prior to that he could have given the game away letting jarvis walk around him like he was standing still, didnt even attempt to stop him.

  2. The Panarin situation is a damned if you do, damned if you don't.
He is declining – but without that scoring, do we even make post season?
His performance has fallen off – but who is ready to step up?
He's probably leaving – but who's available on the market to score even half the points?

  3. Panarin is not going to be traded at this point, especially to Carolina. If he's traded it will be at the deadline, probably to a team in the running for Lord Stanley. Even at his age I think he can bring back a good haul. including picking up another first to build to the future. Great play by Robertson from the point on the Laba goal. And playing his off side too. Love the Laba line, with the energy bunnies Laba & Berard buzzing. Sheary out & Brodzinski in a definite plus. Brennan Othmann broke out of his funk last night in Hartford on a line with Roobroeck & Chmelar. Like Berard he lost confidence being sent down. Had 6 shots on goal.

  4. Nobody is giving up a first round pick for a regressing 34 year old forward, going on 35 this year that also vanishes in the big moments when he's needed most. Let's be real here, Panarin is just gonna walk at the end of the season. His full NMC gives him so much leverage and basically impossible to move him, unless he himself agrees.

  5. Hear me out…. We have back to back games coming up and that means garand will probably play. What if just what if , garand goes out and plays great and puts eyes on him from other teams. Or what if quick is out for a little longer than expected and garand puts good enough numbers up to be a high target from other teams. That gives us room and an opportunity to trade a goalie that we really don’t need at all with shesterkin getting paid 11.5. And room to not lose any “star” players while maybe getting a 2-5 mil player or something like that ..just a thought mainly a throw up holy Mary 🤣 also so many teams I feel like would love to have him and probably start him over there .800% goalies

  6. We need depth in scoring. What used to be a strength on the wings has turned into a weakness. With J.T. back , I would prefer to let our centers play center.
I'm not sure what we would give away, we don't have anyone left. Neither does Friedman apparently. That guy's a name dropper. If the Rangers stay in the wildcard there's very little chance Drury will move Breadman. He would sign and trade him in the summer. Dolan will have Drurys head if they miss the playoffs again, so rebuilding isn't an option until we completely crash and burn. So if we stay close, mark my words, Pararin stays. 🏒🦃Happy Thanksgiving!
