Well, I think I know who we can blame for that loss yesterday
I’d been holding out hope they’d get things to click but – especially with Simmons being out – they’re done. At a certain point you are what you are and what the Chiefs are is a poorly disciplined team with awful special teams, a stale and erratic offense and 0 pass rush on defense. It’s been a hell of a run but they need to take a hard look at everything this offseason.
People talking about how Mahomes has regressed is wild to me. We had 3 starting OL out yesterday. What team is going to do well with both Tackles and an all pro guard out?
This is after he put up 4 tds and put the team on his back, again.
I am so tired of seeing the insane over reactions from 90% of this sub after a loss or bad game.
I swear it’s like half of you don’t even watch the games with your weird criticisms. This team is not playing well in any unit right now and it all comes down to execution and guys trying to do too much. On offense we are missing 3 starting offensive linemen tonight and yet mahomes was either forcing it to his first read or playing hero ball. That’s a function of not trusting the line, but Reid needs to be calling way more traditional run and pass concepts. The RPOs aren’t working because every single team in the league knows you want to run them.
They aren’t even that successful right now. The RPOs you only have one or two true routes on the play with everyone else either run blocking or running a distraction route. Probably half our pass plays last night were with worthy and rice in a bunch… worthy running distraction so rice can get an easy catch.
It’s not a bad strategy when you mix it jn but it seems like it’s all they ever want to run.
Get under center, run the ball, utilize actual play action and your fast receivers. We have receivers capable of running real routes yet we have them running into space instead on most plays
Right now we aren’t playing to anyone’s strengths on that side of the ball and mahomes is playing kind of jittery in between hero ball and not reading the field as well as he could. Reid and Nagy could be making much better gameplans.
However, at least there’s more of an excuse on this side of the ball. The injuries to the offensive line make it tough and the RPOs are a solution to that. Just been unfortunate with injuries on this side of the ball all year.
They played well enough to win though.
For the defense it’s a different story. I’ll start by saying it is difficult to play defense when the officials are calling OPI a DPI on you and refuse to call it fairly. Aside from that…. Spags is the reason these big plays keep happening.
He keeps blitzing without disguising it and teams know what he’s doing at this point. He’s constantly putting Conner on the field and teams are just abusing him. Bolton should never be on the field on 3rd downs. Spags is so stubborn he refuses to put his best player (mcduffie) in his best position at the slot. He refuses to play nohl Williams who had been pretty good at outside corner. Mcduffie should play outside on base downs, inside when 3 corners plus.
It lets him be active in the run game and actually be a chess piece in coverage. But instead he’s just stuck on the outside.
We let Chris jones constantly freelance in the middle which can lead to crushing scrambles. We have an insistence on stopping the run at the cost of our passing defense.
There’s solutions for a LOT of this stuff on defense, spags just wants “his” guys out there. And it’s frustrating when his playcalling is no longer working against anyone. I’m not sure what his endgame is this year, the defense has no redeeming qualities right now
Special teams wise.. if anyone needs to be fired it’s Toub. This dude has had some of the worst special teams play in the league the last 3 years. If he didn’t have butker propping him up it would look a lot worse
Guys are constantly undisciplined and we get 4 huge penalties a game there alone. He’s chosen wrong on punter twice in a row now…
Araiza had a good game yesterday but the competition for both him and Townsend should have won the job. Both guys are better than what we kept
As for veach, he’s done a good job. You guys just can’t see the coaching problems and injury issues from a level headed perspective. We’re always picking towards the end of a round. And we just went to how many straight afc championships?
What you’re seeing is a roster that’s tired. One that had to make some concessions in order to make it to super bowls the last few years.
If we struggle this year I think we’ll be okay guys. These are fixable issues and the team is already really close. Six one score games at this point. Our luck has just turned the other direction.
Anyone expecting massive change probably isn’t going to get it
Yesterday I posted that I was worried about Caliendo getting abused, never would have thought it’d be McDuffie who was absolutely abused.
Lack of defense depth killed our season
Well it looks like better draft positioning than KC has had in well over a decade. It’s probably time to restock some of the younger talent without hoping to find gold picking late in every round. Get a better stock of young talent and an easier schedule next year, toss in a revenge tour and this team could put up a monster 2026.
I have tickets to the game next Sunday night and makes me sad thinking that might be the last time I’m able to see Travis play live
I have come to the conclusion that unless they win out, the playoffs aren’t happening and if so, I’m fine with it. Not happy of course but what I mean is I will accept it. Look at all the Chiefs have accomplished since Mahomes became the starter in 2018.
-7 straight AFC Championship Games appearances, winning 5 of them
-5 Super Bowl appearances, winning 3 of them
-2 MVP awards for Mahomes plus 2 Super Bowl MVP awards
-6 AFC West Championships
-17 playoff wins
A lot of fan bases would love to have a 7 year run like that. We have been blessed. So it’s okay. Taking a possible year off to rebuild next year while playing a 3rd place schedule in 2026 isn’t the worst thing.
Chiefs gained a spot in the standings thanks to the Ravens loss. AFC is a shit show.
So who do we want to win Steelers or Bills?
Whatever team wins the AFC is just food for the Rams
I think we forget that Rashee’s suspension actually fucked our season. We lost games we would have won if he was on the field. We should have AT LEAST 2 more wins.
Are we the best 6-6 team in the NFL right now? Fuck no!! We are what our record says we are. The only team that can stop the Chiefs is the Chiefs. Until we are officially eliminated, let’s fucking go Chiefs Kingdom.
It sucks to lose but the best thing this team can do now is exactly that. They need better draft position to reload and finally get some talent. Truth is this team doesn’t have much talent after two bad drafts and poor Free Agency decisions.
Our defense is top 10 in points and yards allowed but bottom 5 on third down conversions. Dale Carter resigned because the team pressured him to change his classic third down call. Coincidence?
Even though our season isn’t living up to expectations, it’s kinda fun seeing New England crushing Buffalo’s dreams. They were believing this was their year.
Besides the obvious reasons, why has this team, with a better receiving corps than the two previous Superbowl teams, played so poorly this season? My #1 reason is their 1-6 record in one score games. I remember the good old days when Pat had the ball last, everybody all knew we were gonna win. Or when we needed a late defensive stop, our defense would prevail one more time. Aye! The good old days felt like just last year. Lol
Can’t win it every year. Took Brady 10 years between his first 3 and last 3 SB wins with the Patriots. Now I hope it’s not 10 years for us but it may take time to get the roster and coaching back on track before we again have a dominate team.

Everyone here was worried about the chargers or broncos. Lol. The chiefs worst enemy are themselves. This team needs to figure it out. At least to have a winning season. They needed to run the table at least for the playoffs.
So, what did Andy say in his postgame presser yesterday? Just more “we need to clean up the penalties”?
We cooked. Definitely needs to be some sort of mini-rebuild/reset in the offseason.
This isn’t really in relation to McDuffie getting torched yesterday. But I think we should consider trading him. I think he’s great, again yesterday notwithstanding, however Veach seems pretty good at evaluating secondary talent. I feel like we could get a decent return from him as well, which could help in that mini-reset, while probably getting a decent enough replacement.
IDK, would we be able to get anything from CJ also? I doubt much… maybe a 3rd? Get cheaper, get some draft capital.
Officially lost all expectations. They beat the homerism out of me this year. The NFL is crazy so who knows. Just hard to hope.

That Texans playoff game last year was the worst thing to happen to our DL. Turns out being blocked by TEs constantly in one game was a very lucrative outcome for George.
dorsey deserved so much more than what we gave him. history will remember him kindly when we talk about the chiefs success. people say he gave out terrible contracts well so does veach. we got some amazing players under him. what “amazing” players have we gotten in veach’s 7 ish years? Humphrey? Mcduffie? maybe josh simmons? no one comparable to tyreek hill or chris jones or kelce
Reading this tweet really pisses me off. This is the third time in the last three years we’ve had offensive players on the Chiefs injure themselves with friendly fire. It is sloppy football to make stupid mistakes like this. And I do not believe it’s a coincidence this all started with Matt Nagy at OC. This is a reason he has to go. Ever since he became OC, the Chiefs keep making silly, sloppy mistakes like this, overthrowing the reciever much more, the offensive line still has problems with penalties, and the Chiefs offense has grown stale, unexplosive, and brutally slow at getting down the field. Those 28 points yesterday took an eternity to get to. And the Cowboys could just move down the field in half the time it took the Chiefs to score. I doubt Nagy is even getting through to the guys on offense anymore, because I’m not seeing any fire from them.
I swear, I’m going to break into hives if I have to read about more coachspeak from Nagy about execution and fundamentals and all that.

i won’t even ask about playoff scenarios unless we beat the texans. and with our now broken OL i feel like that’s the hardest game going forward by a very large margin
I’d be happy if they give us a year off from Holiday games. Don’t need to see them on thanksgiving and every Christmas.
We definitely can win all 5 games with 3 at home and 2 on the road against bad teams. Will 11-6 be enough? I don’t think so. I think those dang tie breakers will be too much to over come. I just don’t see any of the wildcard teams above us getting to 10-7. We really just don’t have enough to get it done this year anyway. We would lose on the road to most anybody we play if we did get in as a 6 or 7 seed.
There are 22 franchises that have fewer SB victories than Mahomes.
There are 3 that are tied with Mahomes (Den, LV, Was)
This is a down year, and they’re 500.
The fact that so many Chiefs fans are nearly depressed and so many NFL fans are celebrating tells you how great this org has been for the last decade.
Can we stop doing friendly fire injuries? Our big injuries have all been friendly fire 🙁
I’m not giving up hope until it’s over. but even if we don’t make playoffs it isn’t the end of the world. doesnt change how i feel about mahomes or the team and doesnt take away from the 3 super bowls we have. it also doesn’t mean the dynasty is done and we wont get any rings in the future
Yes, they made mistakes. But in a close game like that, it’s foolish to believe the officiating didn’t affect the outcome. Dallas had 5 first downs via penalty (at least 2 of which were bullshit), KC 0
Lopsided officiating, no two ways about it. And they couldn’t overcome it. Bullshit OPI on us, but none on Dallas despite constantly pushing off, extending arms, etc.
Them’s the breaks I guess
