We’re joined now to talk about the Conucks by worldwide singing sensation uh judge and the voice the pride of North Bernabby Conucks fan for life Harold Snips joins us now. You don’t even understand you guys. I mean what a dream come true. I never thought in my life that I would get to be on the same bill as Farad and I finally made it. Well, there you go. Well, both from Bernie. I said Harold Harold, but that’s a Tiger Williams jersey. jersey. My my steam my steamer jersey is in the laundry right now. That’s the one I usually wear. Uh big Stan fan. Uh today today it’s this one. Hey, you know this is so this is just so connect. We wanted to talk about how tough things are for the Canucks and then they go and beat a very good Anaheim team uh last night. Parade route getting started. We’re doing the planning. I mean what’s the drama? Yeah. Uh, you know, I wanted to say to you guys, thanks for having me for sleep. Second, my phone blew up after I went on did, you know, I was on Instagram one late night and, uh, my publicist called. I, they wanted me on every I got asked to be on every sports show. Wow. No joke. And it was like I was only coming here cuz this is I’m not talking about the other I’m talking about the Canucks. Yeah. Um, and so, uh, I wanted to be here with you guys. And I thought today we could do something refreshing. We could talk about facts and not feelings. How would you how would you like to do that? Well, well, we want to Well, the Instagram posts are facts. Do you want to start there? Well, well, I’ll start. Let’s start with this fact. I do not speak for Kuck fans. I am a Kuck fan. I have been a punter, a sufferer, a guy who’s loved and breathed and lived this team. And um for those of you know listen I know that I I come from a a a place where people will assume that it’s a privileged place and it is. Uh and um and I know that I I know these people but I don’t speak I don’t say the things I say because of any kind of loyalty. I tell you how I feel. I argue with these same people. I’ll get in fights with those same people that people think I’m protecting. Uh and so what I’m saying is a fact. And here’s here’s another fact. Uh I keep reading these things from the media. Like I I haven’t said his name before, but I’m just going to say Frank Cavelli. Frank Frank is probably a really good guy. I don’t know Frank well, but um you know, if Frank Cavelli is a Kuck insider, then the 40-year-old virgin was a porn star, you know. And uh and it’s and it’s not just Frank, it’s I see it every day, all the time. And you know, I know I said something about the Kuck fans and that we’re a kind of a fan base, okay? That comes from a place of frustration. We’re number one, I’m not backtracking on it. Zero backing. We are a Listen, 80% are an amazing fan base. By the way, you have to be to put up with this crap for this many years and still sell out those arenas every day and watch the team and not become apathetic. Okay? But we’re also like a dog that’s been beaten. We’ve been beaten. And so we just keep waiting for the next bad thing. And there’s a lot of guys and you know this in the media that know that and they pray upon it and they love it. They’re not trying to they want us to lose. They want us. It’s better for them and they don’t even know what they’re talking and they just sell the garbage to us and because we’ve been so beaten, we just laugh it all up and we we and we get more angry and they fuel the fire and they’re laughing at us. They’re laughing at us. Yeah. Yeah. But people do care. Let let me show one of the Instagram posts. It’s the one you you referred to if you don’t mind. So, uh this is reading these comments. These are these are your words. Reading these comments sucks. What a blank fan base we are with fans like us. Karma will always give us what we uh deserve. You also wrote uh Michael and that uh I I see a a lot of light at the end of this uh tunnel. That was on another longer Instagram uh post. do. Do you honestly feel that way? And this was in this was in regards to connect management, which you back. I do. Well, listen to me. I I’m going to tell you now. I I won’t say who. I got like five different messages from people that you and I reveal and respect and they’re not in the Kucks organization. They’re outside. Okay? And they wrote me and they felt I was pretty spot on with what I had said. Now listen to me. I won’t be right about everything. I don’t know more than anyone else. I I don’t And it doesn’t matter. Don’t tell me cuz I’m a musician. Listen, I love hockey. I’ve lived in hockey. I’ve I’m a I’ve I’ve been a part of running a hockey team for a long time. I don’t know nothing. I don’t know everything, but I don’t know nothing. Um I know this. I know that Jim Rutherford around the league cuz I’m friends with other GMs and other they feel he is if not the best one of the best executives that that has ever been. This is not a stupid This is a a really smart man who who by the way, I don’t want to say he’s impatient, but does what he has to do, you know, and and plays the cards that he’s dealt. And I do see light at the end of the tunnel. I know it’s not perfect, and I know we went back to JT. Ryan, I know you disagreed with me. I watch your show. Um, and that’s okay. That’s great. We’re passionate. You disagree with me about the JT Miller take, right, Ryan? Yeah, I think so. I think so. I think that was one of the ones. Yeah. And that’s okay. Now, I disagree with your take disagreeing with me because I listen I I know. Listen, you think that you think they’re in love in New York? I think if Listen, this is again a year ago, everyone said, “Get rid of PD. Keep TJ. What did you do? What did you do?” Well, a year later, a year later, everyone was so sure. And you know what? A year later, I’d rather have Pey. Hey, Michael, before you go any further, are I’m a rebuild guy. Are are you a rebuild guy? I would say I’m not a tear down rebuild guy, but I’m definitely, you know, you keep some of the great tools you have. Look, I said it in the post. I don’t know if I’ve ever been part of this fan base where we’ve had such potential and light on the back end. Okay, that that goalie we drafted last year, again, I could be wrong. My opinion is we got the steel of the draft. I think that kid’s gonna be a star. A big I mean a star. Yes. And that’s how we win Stanley Cups. We build from the back end and they have that and and so you you see that coming and you think, okay, number one, you’ve got some good players who want to be here. Okay. And that’s what we need, by the way, in this retool is to get young guys who want to be here. Um, and I think that’s really an important part of this discussion. And again, I want to go back to facts and feelings. I’m hearing you guys talking about Quinn Hughes, and I’m not saying that I know better, okay? I’m telling you what I personally believe, okay? You’re talking about and then we’ll see how he feels after the fourth nation, and we’ll see how he feels after the thing. I don’t believe that. I don’t believe that. I know cuz I’m in a business myself where decisions are made years in advance. So if he’s staying, he knows it. And if he’s going, he knows it. And I’ll tell you even further than that. I truly believe that you won’t know. And I won’t know. And maybe his brother won’t know, but I truly believe that Jim will know. Yeah, that’s I I agree with you on that one, Michael. Hey, a lot of the negativity is driven by social media, Michael. It really is. But you you said a really smart thing. 80% of the Canucks fan base isn’t even on Twitter. But the negative ones are on Twitter. That’s what’s driving it. That’s what’s driving it. I’m the negative. I’m a negative one, too. I did the same thing. You think I’m not in my group chats going nuts and talking and how do they And by the way, the only difference is that I’ll get to talk to some of these people. Yeah. And I do. And then we and I’ll argue with them as And by the way, again, just as a fan, just a I don’t pretend that I should be an executive in the NHL, but I argue with him. the same guy that I’m telling you, Jim Rutherford, that I like so much and I respect so much. I have gotten into arguments with, I’ve argued with all of them. Um, I do I just wanted to come and say that today. I’m glad I got to say that to you guys, you know, and I do see light at the end of the tunnel. And I’m not telling you that tomorrow there’s the Stanley Cup coming. What I’m saying is and what I I made sure to say it. I think after the things that that happened this year and the moves that will have to be made and and what you’re saying uh Donnie about, you know, retooling and getting younger and finding these pieces, I just think that we’re on a different trajectory. I think we’re we’re going to be on a better trajectory. Look, I’m not making excuses. I know not all the decisions that the management made were perfect. I and I’m not going to blame it all on previous, but they weren’t they weren’t left with a great situation, I don’t think. Yeah. Um, I like the way they’ve drafted. I like a lot of the moves they’ve made. Most of the moves they’ve made. Um, I think for people that don’t know what was really happening inside, it’s probably hard for them to get some of it. And I understand that. It’s a, you know, it hurts her personally almost. I think if they did know, I think they’d feel a lot more like I do. I really do. And I’m I’m not trying to to be sneaky about how I say that. I really do. I think if they really understood what was happening inside in those personal relationships for those things, they’d go, “Oh, okay.” Um, you know, they did the best with the cards that were played. Um, but I really truly think we’re closer to being better than people think. And I I mean that. And look at I’m sure listen half everything I say today, guys. I just turned 50. And I don’t know why this happened, but I got to this point at 50 where I’m a people pleaser, but I stopped really worrying about what people thought. I thought, you know, I’m just going to tell my truth. And you know what? And they can love me or whatever. They want to hate me, okay? But um I would be panicked. And I’m telling you now, I would be panicked if I was an Oiler fan. That would make me go I would be I would be I would be truly I would go, uhoh. This could we could be in for some dark times here. Yeah. The window’s closing. Oh, you know. Hey, you know when my number one takeaway from this interview is? Tell me. I don’t know everything, but I don’t know nothing. That’s a song title, Michael. Yeah. Yeah. And the name of the album is Facts and Feelings. Facts and Feelings. There you go. This, you know, it’s funny. I just became more American on this American Thanksgiving than you know. And you know what’s even weirder? I’m making a country album right now. Are you wow? Yeah, I’m making a country album. It’s like my love letter. It’s in my style. It’s like this old school kind of very Rachel’s thing. I like it though. Facts and feelings. Yeah. Facts and feelings. That’s a country song title. Don’t know everything but I don’t know nothing. Don’t know everything, but I don’t know everything, but I don’t know nothing. I got four hands here. Yeah. Wow. Frank Bell. Hey, cashews and cigarettes. Get that in there. Yeah, you better is going to be in there for sure. Cashews and cigarettes. Hey, hey, I know I’m my time has come up. I just want to say this. Kanox fans, Kuck fans, I I love you and I got you. And whenever I can come and try to speak what I think is truth, I’m going to do that. And if it’s bad, I will talk. I’ve had coaches, previous coaches call me and say nasty things to, you know, I will say the nasty things. If I feel it, I will say it. But from my heart, I know it sucks. I know it’s tough. But don’t let that negative garbage in. Don’t let them Don’t let them use you and get you all riled up. We’re going to be okay. We have I really believe we have a really good management team. I really do. And I know you might not agree with everything they’ve done, but I think we’re in really good hands considering all of the crappy things and luck and all that. And I know people don’t want to hear that, but you know, yeah, some of these things are just, dude, I know for a fact some of these things that have happened, executives around the league have never seen it. I don’t know if that’s just bad luck for the Canucks or whatever, but I maybe I was a little harsh with the karma thing. My wife said I shouldn’t ever use the word karma. You’re you’re emotional. You’re you’re passionate. Every everybody uh understands, but and by the way, happy 50th. I don’t know if I said that to you, but happy. Yeah. Thank you. So, the what Okay, before we let you go, very quickly, you mentioned the country album. What else is going on career-wise? Uh, who really cares honestly when we’re talking about the Canucks? Like, who gives it? Like, uh, uh, I’m gonna go and end the I’m going to go and end the voice. Try to win a third season in a row. If that happens, they’ll probably never have me back. I wouldn’t have me back. If I was an American, guys, that the Canadian guy comes and he just doesn’t. Uh, uh, there’s, Dude, there’s so much stuff happening. You’ll see though. Just gonna really uh I’ve never been on X a lot. Not Twitter, but maybe I’ll just start doing this conucks. Don’t do that. Don’t do that. Yeah, it’s a big Rick and I Well, especially Rick both do it and it’s it’s time consuming. You need a weekly hit on this show, Michael. Weekly hit. I I I love it, man. Listen, I hope I’m right, guys. I think I’m right. I really do. I think I’m right. A lot of people a lot of people feel the same way. Love the jersey. Love the passion. Michael, anytime you want to come on the show, let it let us know. Thanks so much, my friend. Don’t give up fans. Let’s go. Stanley Cup or bust. You bet. Thanks, Michael. Appreciate it.

Legendary Singer Michael Buble joined the guys and talked about the reaction to his thoughts about Canucks fans on Instagram earlier this week and why he believes Canucks management will turn this around.

  1. 100% agree with Michael that there are too many in the "media" who pretend to know what they're talking about like they are some expert, but actually don't have a clue. Glad someone has the guts to call these imposters out!

  2. Deffinately bad luck is a huge factor. Our defence and goaltending is setup for years with young talent. Already developed some great bottom six pieces in Abby. Were just missing a few talented top six pieces and theres still lots of time to find them. Its not over yet.

  3. Canucks fans, the rabid ones anyway, can be super hostile and really abusive online. I don't know if it's the same everywhere but I had to leave the old CDC site because it was simply too aggressive and toxic. Hate to say it but some of these fans just suck.

  4. Objectively the majority of the media like Ryan or drance or brough that cover the Canucks have a vendetta or perceived slight by the management or the owner and actively root for the team to lose. It’s one of most bizarre things that make this market unique

  5. He's right about locking up guys who want to be here. But on the other hand the team dishes out NMC's like candy and when they underperform it's crippling. The Canucks next season will have more NMC's than any other team. Not a good plan.
The media vs. the fans game is old hat though. Neither have actual influence on the team's performance, but the franchise likes to pretend they do, because then it excuses horrendous decisions made by management/ownership.
Too bad Ryan Reynolds already bought a sports franchise, but maybe he and Buble should somehow buy the Canucks.

  6. Great segment Gents. Thanks. I'm a Michael Buble Fan and have seen him in concert in Vancouver. I think Michael may have drank too much of the Kool Aid in regards to the Canucks. I've been a Canucks Fan since they were first in the NHL, and was a long time season ticket holder. One needs to take a step back to gain some perspective on this team. The Fact is they've never won a Stanley Cup, and never had a first overall draft pick. They have always been in the mushy middle, and overall mostly mediocre. Right now they have a third of the team manned by AHL players. Their new second line Center was recently waived through the league so he could have his multi-year contract terminated by the 27th overall Leafs! (He signed with the Canucks for less than half of it pro-rated for the rest of the season.) Their starting Goalie (N. Tolopilo) has 3 games of NHL experience (including the last game) and the back up (Patera) has 9 and got lit up badly his last time out (Florida had 8 Goals). Winger A. Bains has one Goal in 40 NHL Games! And on and on it goes. So Michael needs to give his head a shake. The Canucks management may have been good "back in the day" but the facts are they are 29th in a 32 team league. On December 9, 2021, Rutherford was named president of hockey operations and interim general manager of the Vancouver Canucks. He's coming up on his 4th anniversary of being in charge. After 24 games in that season the Canucks had 18 points, and were second from the bottom in the Pacific Division which is where they are today after 24 games with 22 points. The ownership fired the last GM (Benning) when the Canucks were this bad. I don't know how anyone can think the Canucks are a good team these days at 29th overall.

  7. All good, Love this dude..I used the world Karma all the time..it's negative energy, Maybe shouldn't have rioted cuz this teams going through hell!

  8. Way to stand up for BCs Team. Same age. Vancouver Canucks fan till the end! Grew up in North Vancouver just over the 2nd narrows bridge! 🤘🔨 👍👍

  9. It’s amazing how passionate us old timers are for the jersey/s as the “team” we fell in love with as kids ( maybe 82 ? ) is nothing like it is today, yet we would all bawl like babies if the Canucks ever won the cup.
My wife loves Bublé, wasn’t my music genre , but went to his show in Winnipeg, a couple years back. Left the show a fan of him, as a human. Beautiful human.

  10. Man I love Donnie and Rick but last year they purposefully drove the Petey vs JT beef as hard as they could for clicks and views – hiding behind the guise of "we're supposed to report the news." My issue is they went over the top with it. Today, they criticize how negative the fanbase is. A fanbase they helped cultivate. Irony

  11. Whether you agree or disagree, Buble could be doing a lot more with his time. He comes on because he genuinely cares for this team and also probably genuinely cares about how the people of Vancouver feel about him because of how much the city means to him. He could have the appreciation of the entire world but it means nothing next to the appreciation of just his hometown. I think Brian Fallon once said "You never get away from that thing in your hometown that it has over you. You dont outgrow where you come from."
