Texans vs. Colts Preview: Daniel Jones Injury VERY SERIOUS + C.J. Stroud Set To SHOCK THE NFL

[Music] Welcome into Texans Today everybody. I’m your host Jeremy Chugs and coming up on today’s program, a week 13 matchup against our division rival, the Indianapolis Colts. The first of two meetings in the 2025 2026 season. So, coming up, I’m going to tell you how the Texans can beat the Colts and maybe get on track to, I don’t know, win the division. After week three, when the Texans started off 0 and three, if I told y’all in week 13, we’d be sitting in a spot where I would even utter the words win the division, you’d call me crazy. But that’s where we’re at right now. And where we’re at right now in terms of subscribers, we are so close to surpassing last November here on the channel. That was the biggest November this channel has ever had in terms of subscribers. And we are closing in. So, if you could go down and hit that subscribe button, let’s get better each and every single year. And I want to prove to my bosses, hey, Texans fans represent. Texans fans show up. So, if you haven’t already, hit that subscribe button. It’s 100% for free. My promise to you is this. Go down and hit the sub button. Give me one week. If you don’t like it, unsubscribe. No skin off your back. Let me prove to you why this is the number one Texans channel here on YouTube. Let’s get right into it with our keys to victory on today’s show. First up, heavy play action. That’s something that this Colts defense is susceptible to against, which is if they’re pretty good against the run, but if you can somewhat establish the run with a Woody Marx, with a Nick Chub, and at least have a threat of the running game, both, you know, Woody Marx and Nick Chub, they’ve been getting a little bit better and better each and every single week. I think that could really help this Texans passing attack because CJ Strad works really well off those play action boots and we’ve seen it with Davis Mills over the past three weeks. This Texans offense has really flourished with that boot action game and you know something that Demo Ryan talked about this week is establishing the run a little bit more. This is what he had to say ahead of the Colts game for our offensive line, the rushing game. We have to just stay connected on our blocks. I think when we have double teams, we’re coming off the second uh we’re coming off at the second level. If we stay connected and finish our blocks with the right mindset, we have good running lanes. And what do Ryan is basically saying there is in this running scheme, a lot of the times you’ll see two linemen, maybe if it’s Jake Andrews and Ed Ingram or Jake Andrews and Titus Howard, Ed Ingram and Trent Brown, they double team one of the defensive linemen. And what he’s saying is he’d rather have those two guys push the defensive lineman back into the linebacker’s lap rather than one of them get off the block early and you know the defensive lineman disengages and makes the tackle. They want more push up front and pushing those defensive linemen back a couple yards. So the point of contact isn’t in the back field. It’s a couple yards down, you know, past the line of scrimmage. So you’re at least getting a couple yards even if you’re tackled by one of the defensive linemen. And I’ve said it before and I think this is true. CJ Shroud will have a big game on Sunday. I’m calling it. Big game incoming for one CJ Strad. Yeah. Not only is because all the doubters, all the noise, all the outside distractions are definitely piling up with CJ Strad with everybody saying that he’s washed, everybody saying, “Oh, we should go to Davis Mills.” Booie. CJ Stroud is my quarterback. He’s my franchise guy and I’m riding or dying with number seven. And what better way to come back and show everybody how elite he is than play up against the Indianapolis Colts. A team that, you know, historically he’s played really well against. 3-1 in four meetings up against Indianapolis. A 69.8 8 completion percentage, 1,167 yards, seven touchdowns to one interception, and a QB rating of 110.9 in those four meetings up against Indie. So, yeah, I’m feeling pretty confident that CJ Shroud is going to have a bounce back for performance. Who’s with me? If you still have confidence in our guy CJ Stroud, give me a yeah down in the comments section because I’m telling you this, our wheeling, dealing, styling, profiling, girls stealing, wheeling, dealing quarterback, the franchise CJ Strad, yeah, he’s going to show everybody why after his rookie season, everybody was saying he was a top 10 quarterback. Everybody’s walked off that take. Everybody’s kind of a, oh yeah, he’s he struggled here and there. He’s not an elite quarterback. He’s not good. I’d rather have Davis Mills in that. This is no teen, no shade, no peak lemonade towards Davis Mills. I think he’s a great backup and a good game manager. But CJ Stroud is different, man. Whenever he is playing at his peak, he is a top quarterback in the NFL. And I will stand on that. If you agree with me, go type those yes down in the comments section. Next up, can’t settle for field goals. You cannot settle for field goals. It was okay this past week with, you know, here and there up against the Buffalo Bills because your defense was playing lights out, but you can’t expect this defense to play like that week in and week out. I mean, they did it up against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, but the Colts, they’re a much different offense than Buffalo. And I don’t think you’re going to be able to win this game if you can’t convert your red zone trips to touchdowns. The Texans rank 31st in terms of red zone efficiency this year. Um, for those of y’all counting at home, there’s 32 teams in the NFL. So, yeah, this isn’t very good. They scored on only 44.1% of their chances in the red zone converting those to touchdowns. Besides that, they’ve either turned it over on downs or had to kick a field goal or, you know, attempt a field goal at that. You can’t have that happen. If you want to get better throughout the year, if you want to progress and be actually be a serious playoff team, a playoff contender, you have to get the ball in the end zone. So, Nick Kaylee, I’m looking directly at you. Let’s make some changes. You’ve done a good job at progressing this year. Kind of like a lot of this Texans team has gotten better each and every single week. I, you know, I’ll give my flowers to I think Nicki has gotten better each and every single week, but it whenever it comes down to the red zone. Um, this one’s in read only, so that that’s the problem with that. Um, whenever it comes down to the red zone, he’s just not able to convert. He’s just not able to get things going. And I really think Nick Kaye, he’s got to, you know, make some changes. And he’s we’ve seen that, right? There’s been instances where, you know, up against the Buffalo Bills in in in the red zone, he went a little uptempo. He changed things up and that resulted in the Christian Kirk touchdown in the back of the end zone. Let’s continue to do those things and let’s see, maybe try some of these things out. Maybe go Wildcat here and there. You know, the just goal line formation, running the ball up the middle, that’s not working for you. So, maybe you go a little goal line um wildcat action with, I don’t know, maybe a Woody March or a Nick Chub. Just something to consider. Maybe a little tush push action. I know I’ve been a big proponent of let’s try the QB sneak here and there. Now with CJ Stroud coming off concussion protocol, maybe that’s not the best idea to go with tush push with him. But we’ve seen teams look at the Ravens. They do it with Mark Andrews. Why don’t we do it with like a British Brooks or one of our tight ends? Try the tush push. Try, you know, the QB sneak with another one of your players not named CJ Stroud if you’re worried about him getting injured. Why don’t we design better pick plays in the red zone? Jaylen Null, a very shifty receiver. I’d like to see him be worked at like more of those, you know, zig routes where he kind of like fakes going inside, goes outside. Some pick plays where the outside receivers running a slant and Jaylen Null kind of rubs off his route and goes into the flat right there. Let’s try some of those design plays to try to get some of our guys open in the red zone. And when all else fails, why not let Nico Collins eat if he’s on one-on-one coverage? There’s been multiple times where he’s been one-on-one with a quarterback and they’ve decided to run it up the middle or, you know, go the other way. Let’s try to get him involved and let Nico Collins eat. Now, coming up, some more keys to victory up against the Indianapolis Colts. Before we get into that, though, a word from our sponsors over at Prize Picks, America’s number one fantasy sports app out there. Join the millions of users and sign up today. We can’t settle for field goals, but the Colts surely can. Right. That that’s my third key to victory for this Texans team. I don’t expect them to, you know, pitch another shut out, pitch a game where that the defense lets up 10 points up against the Colts, but if you can not break, bend, but not break and force the Colts to kick field goals, I think this Texans team, that’ll be a good sign for this defense. And speaking of Prize Fix, the sponsor of today’s show, I did see there was a projection for Michael Badgley, the Colts kicker, seven and a half kicking points. That means, you know, if he kicks a field goal, that’s three. You get an extra point. That’s one. You go in more or you go in less on this one. I found that to be interesting thinking that I think prize picks is kind of with me thinking the culture going to be kicking some field goals up against this Houston Texans defense. Let me know though, are you going more or are you going less on the kicking points for Michael Badgley? And I say this because the big difference between the Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts is mostly the offensive line. They have a really good O line in Indie and you know Jonathan Taylor is going to get hits. He’s going to be able to get some yardage. I mean what he’s almost at 1,200 yards on the ground throughout the season and there’s still what six more weeks to go. So he’s going to get his he’s playing really good. I mean a MVP candidate dare I say for the Indianapolis Colts. But the Texans they have some good stats on the defensive side in the red zone compared to their offense. They are sixth best in the NFL in terms of red zone defense only allowing 51.2% of the time that converting those into touchdowns and then they are second best in the National Football League in terms of third down defense only letting opponents convert 34.04% of the time. So if they can stop them in the red zone stop them on third down that’ll be huge for this Texans team up against the Colts. Number four key to victory. You got to pressure Jones. He is, you know, still on the injury report with a fibula injury. So, a little bit banged up is the Colts quarterback one. And the real kicker is this. The beginning of the year, he was one of the best in the NFL in terms of avoiding saps. But since week nine, that 27 to20 loss up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he would pre he was pressured on 32% of his drop backs. went six for13, two interceptions, plus two fumbles up against the Steelers in that game. And since then, he hasn’t been the same, right? I mean, he’s been good. Look at the numbers. I mean, he’s he he’s been a good quarterback and probably is going to get the bag this off season as he is still set to be a free agent once the season ends. But like I said, the first seven weeks of the season, he was phenomenal. Was one of the least sacked quarterbacks, least pressure quarterbacks in the NFL. But that’s changed and he’s a little bit banged up. And now you’re looking at the best defensive line in the NFL. And like I said, weeks 10 and 11 pretty similar to that week nine game up against the Steelers. Negative 0.1 EPA per drop back win pressure. That’s the second worst in the NFL during that span. And I think that fibula injury has him a little bit limited in his mobility, getting out of the pocket, escaping pressure, and that plays right into the hand of your Houston Texans, Will Anderson Jr., you see that big smile? That’s going to be all Sunday long for Will Anderson Jr., number 51, if he’s able to get his hands on Daniel Jones. Last up, I think it’s going to be a big day for the linebackers. And I mean, how poetic when you have C uh Demo Ryan as your head coach, right? I think the linebackers got to step up. And you see that face right there of EJ Speed. It’s a big game for him. A former Indianapolis Colt. And yes, Jaylen Petri is on the track to possibly play this Sunday if he clears concussion protocol. But the big thing with the linebackers is going to be this matchup. You already know Jonathan Taylor, but the Colts best receiving threat doesn’t play wide receiver. Their rookie tight end, Tyler Warren. I really like this kid coming out of Penn State. He is very impressive. Look at the numbers throughout 2025 so far. 55 receptions, 662 yards. That leads the Indianapolis Colts three touchdowns 41 as a long. And um it’s actually a a depth three. That that that was my bad for the uh for the linebacker. Um but Tyler Warren, he’s going to be a big matchup problem for this Texans defense. And I’m looking at this linebacking room right here. You have Azizal Shire. He is your linebacker one. He is the green dot. He is the captain. Henry Toto. He’s been playing really well this season. Shout out to Henry. And then like I said, EJ Speed. These guys got to have a big game in my opinion for this Texans defense if they want to shut down this Colts not only rushing attack, but really passing attack. It’s going to be more up to the linebackers in my opinion because they love going to Tyler Warren over the middle. And more often than not, he’ll be paired up if the Texans, you know, run some of that zone defense up against guys like Aziz Alshshire, EJ Speed, and Henry Toto. 1. No confidence. At practice, he looked slumpy and pudgy. He's just not the guy to take us where we need to go. Our OC sucks, we have a bottom 10 O Line, and no run game. We need a game manager that won't take huge sacks, wont throw risky throws, and can actually read a defense.

    Best Texans Channel, right here

  2. This season was over lol… Once Mills took over EVERYTHING looked better! Offense, Defense, play-calling etc!! So regardless of what happens this season DAVIS MILLS rejuvenated this TEAM! Hopefully he plays today!! 😎

  3. No doubt. All the peoples who call for Mill really don’t know football. They want think because he has won 3 game that he’s the one, But our offense line is blocking much better and our running game has step up and that why Mill good look. But it’s still the defense that has been the reason we are winning game and CJ is the QB . Now if anyone don’t like that , your not a Texans fan.
