The Lakers will not play on the NBA Cup court tonight when they host the Mavericks, according to the team. Techs from the league’s court vendor determined that the court is unplayable for tonight. It will be sent back to the vendor for repairs.

  1. Probably helps with the decision that neither team is playing with getting into the elimination rounds at stake

  2. What an embarrassment. How did they not know the court was ass before they installed it? Oh I forgot. They would blow a buffalo for a hundred grand. What was I thinking?

  3. The city edition court looks way cleaner. I like the idea of NBA cup games having different courts, but it shouldn’t be bright colors. Either muted colors or just a simple hardwook with decals to signify its the NBA cup

  4. Glad they put in more effort into their courts and making it safe for the players unlike NFL owners

  5. It seems like the insulation wasn’t good enough and the court was condensating on that one panel where everyone kept slipping. Gotta remember there is always ice below that court at Crypto.

  6. good the paint is unsafe for basketball it’s too slick and reacts poorly to basketball sneakers

  7. Wow we all win! Sincere heartfelt gratitude to the employee who sabotaged the shit court

  8. Thank goodness they listened. It looks horrendous on screen, and is injury-prone for being slippery.

  9. They can make the court in team colors like an alternate uniform. It doesn’t have to be so bright and brash. Especially when you watch on tv. It’s like the players are glitching on my tv screen.

  10. They do more to the court for this stupid ass nba cup than they do for the finals.

  11. Instead stead of insane yellow that feels like staring at the sun why just the Hollywood sign or the observatory or the Santa Monica pier around the border of the court

  12. Hear me out: replace it with trampolines of varying bounce. You never know how high you’re going to go

  13. Unpopular opinion: I actually like the NBA Cup courts.

Not only visually, but also, at the very least, I like the attempt to make the games seem more important. I’d wish they’d do something like that for the Finals, instead of just the regular plain old courts with a small “NBA Finals” logo tucked off in the corners.
