Absolutely NO – hard pass. This can’t even be real – not at those numbers, and not if you want to improve team chemistry.
Not the black Friday deal we are looking for. Hopefully it’s just his agent trying to drum up interest.

Rather have Nestor Cortes on a bounce back
Last guy I want in terms of someone who’d mesh well with the clubhouse
lol no chance
I don’t like Framber
No chance we are giving him 6 years 200 million
Don’t think anyone is going to give home more than 2 years. He needs to prove himself a reformed good citizen before he gets paid. Clubhouse poison to me.
Ranger Suarez > Framber Valdez
His attitude issues in ny will be something to watch but he’s a very good SP

There’s no way Sterns is giving that contract to a 33 year old pitcher.
At his age with his attitude issues for 6 years yeah right lol
Please no.
Hector Gomez is not a guy I believe when I see his tweets
i dont really care if he crossed up his catcher these dudes are super competitive shit that like is bound to happen. but god damm 200 mill for a 33-34 year old pitcher i think this tweet is BS.
I don’t believe this at all. 6 years to this guy but not even 5 to deGrom who is leaps and bounds better? No way.
I can see that AAV being like that but I don’t see the years or even the Mets committing to that
I don’t love it but, if Skubal isn’t happening, I think we should do it
We don’t need more drama on this team. He’s not the vet “leader” we need for our young SPs….
This is 95% false but it gives us something to to debate at least.
1. This guy is always wrong
2. Mets don’t have leaks
3. In what world is Stearns going to give him a 6-year deal?
Least real thing to gain this much traction on here in a whillllle. We don’t have leaks anymore. Ship is sealed tight. And if something does leak? It won’t be *this* guy breaking the news. He’s inherently wrong. LGM
This is bullshit. David Stearns isn’t going to give a starting pitcher a six year deal unless it’s Skenes
Hector! Why are you in the Mets thread?
Hmmmm. Trade Nimmo who is a great clubhouse presence and sign a negative clubhouse guy. 🤯
I’ve never seen a thread so mad to potentially sign an ELITE pitcher. I guess we don’t need starting pitchers.
I’d love to have him but not for 6 years and that money.
Honestly this would be a fantastic signing IMO, he is a perfect fit and looking like he will age well. People getting upset over the money are just being weird IMO he is better than Cease and will fit the team perfectly. If we had him on this team last year we not only make the playoffs we are competing for the division. The biggest problem this team had last season was its pitching and notably how little innings they got out of their starting pitching. If we had him taking 7 innings every 5 days the season would have been DRAMATICALLY different, our pen would have survived the season like this would have been a completely different team.
Hector Gomez is not a reliable source of information. He throws a lot at the wall like Alvarez getting extended, Soto going to the red Sox, Pete on a 3 / $90M deal.
We have already seen the Mets front office doesn’t leak. Just let the process play out t
This guy thinks it’s April fools day instead of Thanksgiving.
You guys are nuts lol.
Valdez would immediately be the best pitcher on this staff, unless McLean continues to be his August/September self.
He has zero off field issues. One on field issue that wasn’t a big deal and he apologized. It would be insane to cross our arms and go “nope” because of a moment of anger that he “apologized” for.
I very much doubt this rumor. Stearns isn’t a “sign pitchers” guy. Especially not until they’re 38. But if we were to get him, at that price, it would be elite. Outrageous to clutch pearls because the guy who undoubtedly makes us significantly better had one questionable instance of anger and literally nothing came of it.
I’ll admit that I don’t know anything about salaries and I may not be realistic when it comes to contract expectations. Having said that, that seems like a lot of money and a lot of years to me for a 32-year old who has never been good enough to be an ace. Am I wrong?
