Washington Commanders Fans Just Got The News They’ve Been Waiting Weeks For…
Welcome into the Commander Report. I’m your host, Jack Sperry. Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving. I know that I did. Commanders fans got the news that they’ve been waiting weeks for yesterday on Thanksgiving Day. And I want to break that down as well as some other Commanders injury updates that we’ve been getting throughout the week here in preparation for Washington’s uh week 13 Sunday Night Football matchup versus the Denver Broncos. If you guys want to join me and Ponzi for our live watch party, we’ll be back in studio on Sunday night uh for Commanders versus Broncos. So, if you guys uh want to join us for that, you know, uh you know, react to the game with us, uh you know, all that different stuff, make sure you guys click that subscribe button if you haven’t already and help us get to 50,000 subscribers here on the Commander Report. So, we’ll start with really the big injury update this week, which is that Terry McLuren, the commander star number one alpha wide receiver, is expected to return to the lineup this week. He has been upgraded to a full participant in practice um uh in yesterday’s practice on Thanksgiving in Ashurn. And that is terrific news. And he talked to the media after practice saying that he feels as good now as he has the entire process of the season. Obviously, Terry had uh you know, had multiple weeks off during training camp because of the hold in with his contract dispute. So, he had to get ramped up very quickly. Then he had a really slow start to the season and then he gets injured and then he gets injured again. And it’s just been a really, you know, it’s been a roller coaster of a season for Terry McLuren to say the least. And it’s really affected the Washington Commander offense. In fact, I’m I’m kind of I’m kind of shocked that Cliff Kingsbury has been able to get uh you know, the production that he has been able to get out of this offense this year given the fact that Terry McLuren is clearly the the true number one receiver in this offense. You know, he’s the guy that defenses have to really account for and, you know, give respect to. And without that presence on the field, you know, it’s really tough to throw the ball vertically down the field. And it’s in fact it’s tough to run the football because if you don’t have that vertical element to your offense, defenses can really hone in on the run game, put that extra guy in the box, um do all that different stuff. And that has certainly affected the Washington Commanders’s ability uh to move the ball effectively this season. But I I got to give kudos to Marcus Mariota, you know, Jaden Daniels at times, and then uh Cliff Kingsbury for making the most of this situation while Terry’s been out. Now, obviously, the defense has been terrible, and when you match kind of, you know, a middling offense with a really bad defense, you’re going to lose a lot of football games. And we’ve certainly seen that over this six-game losing streak that we’ve been suffering through here in Washington. But getting Terry McLaren back into this lineup this week, even though Jaden Daniels is not back yet, he’ll be back probably in in a couple of weeks. Uh, but getting Terry McLuren back, we’ve seen what Marcus Marott is capable of when the full weaponry of this Commander offense is here. And you know, he was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in football last year when he had to take over for Jaden Daniels in this Commander offense last year. Um, and part of the reason for that is that Terry McLuren can open up a lot of things and not having him in the lineup like we’ve seen for most of this year, you know, kind of bottles some things up. So, that’s maybe the biggest reason why I’m really excited to see what this Commanders offense looks like this week. You’re going up against probably a top three defense in the entire league this week against the Denver Broncos and you’re getting your number one receiver back and uh not just him, but it looks like Noah Brown is going to be back. He was listed as a full participant yesterday as well. He’s been out since uh getting injured in week two with a groin injury. Getting those two guys back and those two guys were starters, right? Those guys um came into the season expecting to be your number one and your number three wide receivers. and uh you you’ve missed both of them for most of the season, which has really put this wide receiver situation in a tough spot, right? So, getting those two guys back this week, I’m really excited to see how the passing game dynamic kind of changes. I’m excited to see how defenses play uh the Commanders differently. If they do, um and if they don’t and they really put a lot of one-on-one coverage on Terry McLuren, I would expect Marcus Mariota to throw that deep ball down the field. Absolutely. Uh but it’s not just guys uh you know in the wide receiver room. You’re also expecting to get Ben Sennet back. He’s he had to sit out the Miami game uh with an ankle injury and it looks like he will be back this week as well. Now obviously he’s your tight end three. Um you know he’s not you know Zach is still the number one guy in the rotation. John Bates is still the second guy that gets work in there but but Sinnate has been somebody that’s been a really good contributor. whenever he touches the football, good things seem to happen. And uh with the focus being more on getting young players opportunities down the stretch, I would think that Senate is going to be one of those guys that gets more opportunities um as we kind of go down the final six weeks of the 2025 NFL schedule. So keep your eye out for Sennet. And then Will Harris is expected to be back again uh this week. He had a fibula injury way back early in the season. he will now return to the lineup. And I’m kind of interested to see how that impacts the safety dynamic. Do they just take Jeremy Reeves and Darnell Savage off the field and have Quan Martin and Will Harris play safety and keep No Monogamy in the slot? Or do they maybe experiment with moving around Quan Martin? Because Quan um they is a guy that they have transitioned from slot corner in college and he was one of the best slot corners in college football back in the day at Illinois to trying to move him to safety and he played okay there last year he was heading in the right direction and then this year he has taken a big step backwards and you know with Will Harris returning to the lineup and you have a guy in Darnell Savage that I would trust to be a starting safety um and Jeremy Reeves has certainly played pretty decently at that spot this year. I would think about putting Quan in the slot. See what he can do there. See if you don’t have to waste, you know, a very high draft pick from a few seasons ago. Um, and see if he can have a long-term future at some somewhere in this commander defense. And then you have Will Harris playing safety. Um, and then you also have either Jeremy Reeves or Darnell Savage or both of them, you know, kind of mixing in there in the safety mix. Another thing that you could do is Will Harris can play in the slot. He’s been a nickel player before. So, you can think about putting him in the slot if you want to, if you want to keep Quan at safety. Personally, uh you guys know if you’ve been watching our videos this week, I would personally play Quan Martin in the slot and I would just play Will Harris at safety. Um but, you know, it’ll be interesting to see what Dan Quinn’s plan is. I thought Dan did a much better job than Joe Wit Jr. calling plays uh the last game this Commander team played against the Miami Dolphins. And I’m looking forward to seeing how they can kind of try and bottle up Bo Nicks who’s really struggled at times this year. And you know, they they they one of their starting running backs is now out for the rest of the season. Uh so R.J. Harvey, a rookie out of UCF for the Broncos, is going to have to play a really big part um in their offensive game planning moving forward. And we’ll kind of finish up today’s video uh with some injuries uh on guys that are a little bit more questionable. We’ll keep getting you guys updates as the week goes on. We’ll probably have another video tomorrow breaking down uh the injury report for this week that’ll probably come out later today. But Taylen Burks is currently working his way back from a finger injury. He had to get finger surgery before the Madrid game. We’ll see if he’s able to come back this week. Drake Jackson is still working through his knee and groin issues that he’s been dealing with um ever since he signed with the Commanders over a month ago. Jaylen, Jaylen Lane, the rookie out of Virginia Tech, is still dealing with that hip issue, but he is limited in practice. So, keep an eye on him. And then Frankie Lu has been limited the first two weeks or first two days of practice as well. Still dealing with that shoulder injury that he’s been dealing with for a couple of weeks now. So, just keep your eye on those guys. Uh, I really do appreciate all of your guys’ support here. Um, of course, we’re I’m not going to be in studio for the rest of this week up until Sunday Night Football. I’m going to continue to get the get you guys this these at home style videos. Uh, but I really do appreciate all of your guys’ support. We’ll be back live on the channel in studio on Sunday for our live watch party. It all starts at Well, actually, I don’t know the exact time that we’re doing the watch party, but it’ll be shortly before the game starts at 8:20. So, we’ll probably go live around 8 Eastern is probably the time that I would say that we probably go live uh for Sunday Night Football here this week. But, we’ve got um, you know, super chat giveaways. We’re going to have uh you know live playbyplay and analysis, reaction to the game, and then of course we’ve got extensive postgame coverage like we usually do on our watch parties here on the commander support. So if you guys are interested in that, make sure you click that subscribe button if you haven’t already. I’ll get you guys another update tomorrow on the channel. So uh make sure you guys stay tuned for that. Until next time, guys.

This is not good news. A win at this point is a loss. They are out of it. They should be trying to get as high in draft as possible by continuing to lose
Disappointed in the Commanders organization. They could've shored up the defense this off-season especially on the back end and they didn't. They have a 4 year superbowl window before Daniels contract. They wasted this year.
Hooray . Then will he be out for 4 more games after that .
I don't know i'm a commander fans.Yes, you guys can criticize me.But I don't have any urge, even though jaden, daniels, tam, mclaurin, or all this kind of stuff injuries of commanders look like a walking hospital. That's one reason, but dan quinn is too soft the defense is too soft. His defensive coordinator mister zone defense can do s***. We are the oldest players in N. Fl league Adam Peters, I think he's a really good general managers, but he need to do something before. It's too late because they cannot cover especially Babby Wagner. That's it It's over even though they wince all games. It's too late.
Those time outs with dan quinn useless timeouts.
I don't know. The offense is very predictable. They know exactly what i'm gonna do.They need to do something else. They need to step up
Why does a Steelers fan cover the commanders
Idk Broncos are Scary this year
Last time we played them Wilson was their QB and sam Howell was our QB and won 35-33
You watched on Terry Remember that Jack!!
Terry needs atleast 2 more to get 100%
Quan will be better when we get a pash rush!! Remember quan is coming off shoulder surgery.
Play the rookies and practice squad guy, this season was over after the Greenbay loss .
Cursed… you will never win anything as long as you keep that stupid ass name
Who wants Terry on the team? Thumbs up or down
If you think I've been waiting weeks from McLaurens sorry ass you're dead wrong. He's ruined our entire season from the very start this year.
I'm watching all the guys they let go playing at a high level and can't help but wonder why…
EAGLES ARE SELF IMPLODING WE BOUT TO WIN THE DIVISION YALL!!! I NEED THE REST OF THE FANBASE TO HAVE FAITH WE CAN PULL OFF THIS COMEBACK!!! ALL OUR INJURED GUYS COMING BACK AT THE PERFECT TIME TO MAKE THIS PUSH!!! HTTR 💯🙏🏽💪🏽😤
