It is what it is. I digress. Today, what we’re going to be talking about is simple. Some moves the Patriots made that were much needed. As well, Jackson Dark is back. We need to be talking about him as well. We got to talk a little Drake May because again, the cherry on top, the man’s been just balling out. we got to talk about them because it’s fun to talk about. So, let’s jump into it, ladies and gentlemen. First and foremost, the move for the most part we saw coming. And I want to say this, it’s good to know that he is not out for the rest of the season. That is great. MCL sprain for Will Campbell going to be placed on the IR. Hopefully, will be returning by the time we reach the playoffs, if not before. We will see. Uh, but much much needed move. And and I know this isn’t breaking news. That isn’t the breaking news here or or or what we’re going to be talking about, but the smart news was and if you remember, Alex Austin, who is a depth piece at the quarterback position, he was thrown on IR. They brought in two other offensive linemen. Uh you know, threw one on the practice squad, threw one on the 53man roster. They’re doing a bunch of moving moving and shaking. And then they get Miles Battle, who is on the practice squad, elevated to the 53man roster. Again, the uh something I have been talking about for a long time is depth at the cornerback position. I think this is something that needs to be addressed. Carlton Davis, he’s been doing really well. Christian Gonzalez, one of the best in the league. Yes, I agree. Marcus Jones has proved his his worth and I love seeing it. But when it comes down to it, the depth piece at the cornerback position I think is one of the sketchiest areas. And moving Miles Battle up, smart move. 63. uh speedy fast. Couple years ago at the at the combine, he ran a 437, very speedy, good size, uh a great depth piece for this team. Last year, he was picked up after the Chiefs dropped him as an undrafted free agent. He was picked up, I believe, in October. And then down the road, he ends up being elevated to the 53man roster. Plays in the last game of the year against the Bills, has a couple pass breakups. Exciting stuff. It it is in my opinion the the the perfect move after you see these injuries. Again, I will always concede is is elevating someone who’s a depth piece a sexy move? No. But it is a smart and necessary move because the last thing you want to do and remember Charles Wood, Charles Woods, my fault, he was he was hurt earlier this year as well. So again, Carlton Davis has never finished a full season. Charles Woods has been injured as well already this year, so you just never know. You you’d rather be safe than sorry. So again, a smart move bringing up Miles Battle. Uh love to see it. And anyone who’s watched this channel before or watched a lot of my episodes specifically when we were looking at the draft. I’m a big I I like tall quarterbacks. I like them. I He’s 6’3. You might not believe it, me sitting down sitting here. Maybe it’s the camera, but I’m 6’4, believe it or not. Um, and so tall corners, I think there’s something about him. He’s 197. I weigh a lot more than 197. You might not believe that either. You might laugh at me. I’ll have to prove it someday. We look at Carlton Davis, Charles Woods, uh Miles Battle, and then Christian Gonzalez, Marcus Jones. So, again, I would tell you that uh cornerback that depth piece is an area where it’s it’s thin. It’s thin. Um and so, you’d rather be safe than sorry. Perfect move for this defense, especially knowing that you’re dealing with Jackson Dart. Weird segue. We’re going to go with it. Protocol ahead of the Patriots game this Monday night, which we’ll be going live for. It’s going to be a ton of fun. Uh should be no surprise. Uh again, you jump into Jackson Dart stats. It’s I’m not going to tell you it’s anything to write home about, but again, Malik Neighbors, he’s out. Cam Scataboo, he’s out. So, he it’s been a struggle for him. But I will say this to give him some credit. you, you know, you look at it, his completion percentage is not crazy. Um, his his uh 10 touchdowns to three uh interceptions, okay. Um, but he’s had some games against some pretty solid defenses. Uh, you look at the game in Denver, they lost 332 if you watch that game. Crazy comeback, but solid defense for the Broncos. Uh, three touchdowns along with a rushing touchdown. And if you look at him on the ground, he is uh he’s lighting up the league as well. So again, Jackson Dart cannot be overlooked. I think a lot of people watch that game against the the the Lions game with uh Famous Jamus and they said, “Wow, he’s not too bad.” But again, the I would tell you the Lions defense has just been down. they have just not been what they were uh you know a couple years ago when they made that run uh to the NFC Championship game. But Jackson Dart can’t be overlooked and and again look at some of the teams they have played a Denver they they played the Eagles twice. They won one of those games. The other game h not so much but almost beat Denver in Denver. Uh you know lost to that San Francisco game was a little closer than you know 342 24 throughout the game and then you look at that Bears game which you know they could have won that game as well. So they have some very tough losses on the schedule. But that being said, Jackson Dart back uh and not again we jump even into as we were just talking about Miles Battle uh just smart having someone in at the ready just in case because Jackson Dart he he’s proven even I and this might be a bold statement right here but Jackson Dart is almost taking a similar path in my mind as Drake Hey, hear me out. And this kind of segue, this is ADHD for you, but Jackson Dart on a team. All of his weapons around him. Not ideal. Not ideal. Uh he’s working with not much. Head coach gone though. Grod Mayo was fired at the end of the year and and having to do a lot himself. Not bad for what he has right now. He’s not doing bad. So, the Patriots cannot cannot look past this guy. It’s it’s good news on the Giants front. Good news on the Giants front. Hopefully, I’ll get a Giants guy on here. Last but not least, Drake May compared against other MVP contenders that play quarterback. Uh you’re going to look at a lot of these these categories and he is exceeding uh he is he is head and shoulders above others. A lot of people might say, “Well, hold on a second. He has one extra game.” Okay, still completion percentage solid. Uh passing yards per game solid. uh you know passing yards uh based uh based on attempt great um you know quarterback rating great. So you look at him against Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, look at that all the categories he’s doing better. Danny Dimes resurrecting his career with Colts and then Matt Stafford as well though. Matt Stafford, 30 touchdowns, two interceptions is pretty crazy. Getting Devonte Smith was not a bad idea by them. But again, Drake May compared against the best. I don’t know why he’s kind of leaning to the side in that picture, but it is what it is. Throw him up with the best and and his numbers, they compare, baby. So, keep sending love to Drake May.
