Stars Debut New Alternate ‘99 Jerseys Tonight vs. Utah Mammoth – Game 25 | DLLS STARS PREGAME

Get ready, boys. If you were trying to get the new 99 jersey, I hope you got there early today because the line this morning, I believe it was for season ticket holders, was around the block, like around the AAC and down past the whole building to Nisco. Then the line this afternoon to the hanger for everybody else was also very long. And somebody said they sold out in like 5 minutes. So at least we get to watch him on the ice tonight here on the DLS Stars pregame show. [Music] [Music] Hey everybody, this is the DLSS Stars pregame show live from the podcast studio. And Ryan Va is our producer. But right now, I have a shirt right here. This is the DLS Skyline shirt. Less is wearing the flag with the the stars green that we have. Why are we sporting these? We were informed by our boss GM Ben, the troll that is GMBB Ben, that the Finnish Mafia t-shirt is no longer DLS’s top selling shirt. They unveiled a new cowboy shirt the other day and it is now surpassed our Finnish mafia in sales. You know, Luds, there’s no nothing like a little Cowboys optimism after a Thanksgiving Day win. Well, what’ they win? Two games in a row now. There you go. Anyway, what are the Packers? Nine and three now. Something like that. Yeah. Got a big win. Yeah. Y good win over the Lions. All right. Make sure that you help us get our shirts back up on top. So, order that finished mafia shirt. Any star shirt. Do you know what else? And I want to read this just to make sure I get it properly here because you’ll be interested. According to GM Ben, if we can get 50 shirts sold this week, right in the tonight, the weekend? No, by the end of Monday, we’ll get the other faceoff shirt that we didn’t choose, which will probably be the black one cuz I think you chose the green one, right? I have no idea. You don’t know which one you told Ben you wanted? Uh, I never got asked. I think he knew which one you wanted, which was the the green one. But nonetheless, Finish Mafia, Finisher, The Otter, the 16-bit Madano, 16-bit Wyatt, Defending the Green, any of them. In fact, we sold a couple this afternoon. So, help us out because it’s a big Black Friday sale and DLS is actually beating the other all city markets in sales for Black Friday and Ben is excited about that and we should be too. Thank you to all the dieards that have bought shirts so far and now everybody. So, let’s get to it. Let’s bring Sam on. Sam is at American Airlines Center and he knows a few things about lines, but not forward line combos. We’re talking about fans in lines and this new 99 jersey. It was a little confusing lines we were talking about now. Not those lines. you guys were talking uh as you guys were talking there, they were playing behind me on the big board the video of Panteras telling the story of how they got the uh song to their friend Craig, who I think is that guy sitting to your right, Owen Newkerk, right before the overtime to eliminate the St. Louis Blues. Funny seeing L’s jersey up there in the basement uh telling stories about how they used to play want it. Leds told him, according to them, LS told him with not very much time that they were looking for a new song before they went out on the ice. Uh just cool to see that as I’m looking at you guys starting the show here. But the whole 99 thing is really cool. Like the the jersey coming out was cool. Hearing some of the stories, the bread hole standing in the crease, all that kind of stuff. Seeing the lines this morning, I got here 4550 minutes before morning’s skate and the line was already way around the the corner. Uh they didn’t open it up until I think after 10 10:15. Uh and that when I left later, still huge lines, even more people pouring in. parking garage was packed. Started to see some fans trickling out with it. Uh lots of fans calling out that they love DLS. Uh so a lot of cool stuff going on at the rink. A lot of people that have wanted this jersey for the whatever two or three days since it’s been out. They waited in line and then they waited in line again if they didn’t get it originally with the season ticket holders uh today. The huge line around the corner as I got here. But the cool part this morning was seeing the coaches wearing the new logo on their on their zip-ups. The the players name plates on their lockers had a bunch of new looks, style, said nothing else matters underneath each name. Uh the whole room looks totally different. So really cool to see that. Glen Golson said he’s really excited to see the jersey on the team tonight. Jay Cottoner was the other cool part of this morning. he’s going to start tonight. And seeing him in his pads, which are a a tribute to Ed Belffor. He has the kind of semicircles that Belelffor had on his pads. And then right here, the new mask called it the screaming otter. It’s a tribute to Ed Belffor screaming eagle. Uh it’s a very cool. You can see it’s got almost a full eagle as the bottom with the otter up top. Uh very very cool. It’s really unique to Jake. It’s not one of his matte kind of not plain, but he always has the matte finish where it’s it’s a little less popping. This one is shiny and green and it pops out right at you. It’ll look really cool tonight with those jerseys. I’m excited for it. Um and then as you see, he’s got the the normal name plate on the back that he always has of Beu and the USA hockey. And he even has a tribute if you I can’t tell if you can see it there to his mom uh with the angel wings on the back. And this was just another brilliant job by Dave Art up in his barn over there in uh Winterland. So, we’re going to see the jerseys tonight. We’re going to see the Utah Mammoth jerseys for the first time in person because they were the Utah Hockey Club last year. Now they’re the Mammoth. And before we get to all of that though, Sam, the laundry list of injuries. And you know what I realized as we I was sitting in my office at home today after Morning Skate. Nobody asked about Adam Ernie, but they asked about everybody else and Glenn Gulson gave a lot of updates. I can’t even remember. I I honestly every every day when I go in for practice or morning skate, I have to write down I used to not have to because you’re thinking, okay, the two guys that are injured, let’s ask about them. Now the list just continues to grow and grow and grow and you’re not sure. Have I asked about the guy who’s been hurt for months recently? It’s getting as confusing for us as it is for the fans, I’m sure. Uh so let’s go through it. Ernie is still a ways away. Uh he was in a leg brace. He was I think considered to at least missed a few weeks, probably more like a month or so. Uh so he’s a ways away. Let’s start with the bottom there. Nils Lungquist skated as we mentioned. I think it was about a week ago for the first time on his own. They really just wanted to see what his foot, I believe it was a foot injury, looked like he was in a walking boot, what his foot would feel like in a skate for the first time. Uh, and according to Glen Bulletton this morning, it did not feel good. It was not as seamless as they thought. They thought it would feel a little better, be able to push on it a little bit more. He really wasn’t able to do a whole lot. So, he’s still a ways away. Uh, I don’t know if he’s really skated since then. Um, so unfortunately for Nils Lungquist, the journey continues and we don’t have any sort of timeline for his return. Um, the ones that are a little bit closer, Thomas Harley is still a bit away. Uh, he did not call him dayto-day. He was listed as week to week I believe last Saturday before the Philadelphia Flyers game. So that’s now about a week week and a halfish. Um I think I don’t remember when exactly when it was but he’s still a ways away. He’s a little bit further away than Matt Duchain and Ilia Labushian who both skated this morning at Morning Skate. Duchain was out there before morning skate uh doing some stuff with Miko Randon who was out there in his hilarious looking uh hockey underpants tucked into his high socks with his shoes on. No skates, just walking around on the ice. But Duchain was out there doing some drills and then he did stay for the optional morning skate after Ilia Labushki was out there for the optional morning skate. They’re both listed daytoday and getting closer. However, both of them out tonight and we still don’t have any sort of they’re going to play next game or a couple days away. They’re just a day to day and we still have to wait here. But I will say Matthew Shane shared on Instagram, I think it was yesterday, maybe the day before, a really really emotional post about dealing with this injury, uh the ups and downs of everything, being away from his family on that road trip for, you know, over a week and then now coming back for Thanksgiving. It’s been a really tough time for him and I think as much as fans want to see him back on the ice, Matt Duchain needs to get back in this lineup for his own mental being as well. The weird thing is is that after Gully spoke who he went early cuz usually on a on a nonoptional, a mandatory morning skate, they’ll wait to open the room and then when that’s done then coach goes last. But when it’s optional, he’ll go right at 10:30 and the optional starts at the same time. So we kind of miss some of it. After Gully spoke, I walked right out just to see who was skating, and I got to watch Duchain and Leouchkin both going through the paces. Leouchkin did a one-on-one contact battle drill with Nathan Bastion, who’s not playing tonight. He’s going to be a scratch. And uh Colin Blackwell will come back in. And after both being the guy delivering the contact and the one receiving the contact, Labouchkin went over and talked to Dave Zeiss, their head trainer. Zeicer had him do a couple of different spinound skate stuff. clearly showing he’s feeling pretty good and then he was given permission to join Bastion and Duchain for the nonplaying group post sort of bag skate workouts and then watching Duchaine do that as well. So that was good news. I wouldn’t be surprised if Labouchkin played on Sunday if not then at least maybe an option next week but he he passed those tests. We’ll see what how he feels tomorrow. Duchain looks great. I’m watching him do his stuffs. Everything he does, he looks like Matt Duchain. And so Gully has said what, Sam? For a week now, we’re just waiting for the the player to give us the go-ahad. He’s got to be the one to say he’s ready to play. Yeah, it’s it’s a it we all believe it’s a it’s a head injury. We don’t know that. We’ve not gotten any clarification on that, but that’s our belief just looking at everything he’s done. it to to me it just feels like how when I had concussions and had injuries in college and things like that, it can go up and down without any sort of warning, right? You can come out, you can skate for three days, you can feel amazing, you’re getting ready to play, you think you’re going to be good, and you wake up and you have symptoms. And that’s just the most frustrating part of the whole situation. So, I think for him, it’s not just about going out there and having a good skate, feeling good after. It’s about feeling good after. Feeling good 48 hours after, 72 hours after to be able to make sure that he doesn’t do what he probably already did, which is go play a game like he did against St. Louis after the original injury and maybe have a worse recovery because of it. So, right now, they’re thinking it’s game 24, I think 25. No rush. Just let him get to the point where he feels 100% comfortable to come back and stay in a lineup. That’s the key. Yeah. I don’t want to speak for the medical team or the the the coaches cuz they’ve been very careful about their language, especially Gull sort of not, but I get the sense that he may be medically cleared. I don’t know this for sure. This is just the hunch. But the way Gully’s sort of tiptoed around it, that hey, he can play, but he’s a veteran guy that says he’s not ready yet, and we have to respect him and make sure that he feels confident to play. That’s sort of the t the tone that Gully says, but I don’t made to be completely wrong, so don’t take hold me to that. Finally, Sam, we have two things real quick. Jake Attinger, Mason Marchman reuni reuniting again in Seattle and then Thanksgiving off the charter. Yeah. Yeah. So, some funny stories today. It was a great day at the rink this morning. Not only is this team just went on an amazing 30 and1 road trip, but it was also holidays, Thanksgiving, everybody’s in a good mood. Uh very light feeling around the rink this morning. So the the team stayed over in Seattle after that game on Wednesday night, which was smart because I mean we know we finished our show at like one o’clock in the morning or something. So they would have gotten home probably 4:00 a.m. if they decided to try to fly home that Thanksgiving morning. So they stayed over in Seattle, flew back. Um the team got back around 3:00. Most of the guys I talked to today said they basically had a similar situation. They got off the plane, they either drove they drove home and they walked into a massive Thanksgiving with either their wife’s family or their some of their family was in town. But the the the ne the positive was most of them were really excited about that. They said we got to walk in and of course there’s a lot of family so it’s overwhelming, but there’s also a massive uh table of food and a bunch of stuff for you. So you walk off a long road trip, long plane ride, and you get to just eat a bunch of Thanksgiving food with a bunch of family members. Uh Jake said that he was really thankful because he got home, got to spend his first the first Thanksgiving with his new son who’s about four weeks old uh this this weekend and everyone just had a great time with that situation and having the ability although it was short only, you know, a few hours before they were getting ready to go to bed and get ready for the game today, uh they did have a good time to be able to go right back into it. For a few players, uh Colin Blackwell actually invited over a lot of the younger guys to his house. So they came right from the plane with uh to Blackwell’s house. I think it was Maverick Fork, Wyatt Johnston, Lean Bishell, Kyle Capo, Biano, uh, Thomas Harley, and I think that’s it. Um, so that whole Oh, and Justin Richovian as well. So, the whole crew was out there hanging at his house and said they made a ton of food. Blackwell’s wife and and his wife’s family was there. Uh, the funny part, Maverick Pork, being a Canadian, I was curious how they would feel about the whole Thanksgiving. Maverick Pork told me, “I ate way too much food.” and he even mimicked a little kind of squat like he couldn’t move. He said that the the food was delicious and he had to actually go for a walk when he got home from dinner because he couldn’t go to sleep. He was so full. So, just like the Americans now, but on a on the more emotional side, at least for Stars fans, uh the the stayover in Seattle allowed Jake to go to his old buddy Mason Martin’s new place in Seattle. Hadn’t seen his new his new place. Hadn’t seen the Mason Martin’s family. And the biggest one was he got to meet Mason’s son uh who’s about 10 weeks old for the first time. So that was a really beneficial part while the team would have loved to be back a little earlier on Thanksgiving. A good little reunion for a few of the boys out there as well. All right, Sam, go uh towel off. That was a lot. We appreciate all the efforts and we’ll see you for the postgame. All right, boys. Enjoy the game. All right, there you go. Sam Nestler and right now we have an ad break. Luds, thanks for being here on the DLS Starts show. Do you guys remember what Owen was talking about like 12 minutes ago? Well, that’s more of the same right here. Nothing has changed. We still have these shirts here. And what do we got? Uh, it’s the Black Friday Cyber Monday sale, which I when is Cyber Monday? Is that the coming Monday or was that last Monday? No. Coming up. Oh, okay. Well, there you go. Uh, save up to 90%. I think it’s between 30 and 90, isn’t it? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Um, but again, let’s take a look at the shirts because we haven’t even shown the Face Off collection. You buzzed right through it. Well, I wanted to save something for you. Oh, okay. Well, let’s just show those two shirts cuz I’m sure they haven’t changed colors. Nope. There’s still a green one and the black one. The stars are still there. And can we show the shirt that’s out? Gone. We can’t get anymore. I mean, that’s Is that the finisher one or is that the Which one was that? The mafia one? Finished mafia out. Is that sold out? No. Well, why are we Why was it We’d make a big deal about it. Because it was our top selling shirt at the So, we got booted off the top. We’re number two now behind one of the Cowboys new shirts. The Cowboys new. We can get we can get back if they Well, what is their shirt? Does it just say Cowboys on it or No, it’s a George Pickins themed one and it’s it says stay shy. He’s number three, isn’t he? Yeah. And it’s wearing He’s wearing the like ski mask style balaclava or whatever he’s wearing. That’s Oh, you mean he plays? Yeah. You can’t see nothing. That’s right. Yeah. You You don’t He gives you no facial gone. So, anyway, um it’s minute 16 already, so I think I’m finished. All right. I think you’re done. All right. Let’s talk about the supporters club because in addition to our Black Friday sale and we very much thank you for that. You can also get to that truth sickle level stuff which is getting that badge. Harry, you can get a badge when you’re in our YouTube broadcast live. If you’re in the chat and you want to stand out and many people have, you can have the supporters club badges and access to special emojis that are only available to those who sign up to be part of the supporters club. It’s on YouTube. Uh, I believe Ryan will probably be putting a link in the chat if he hasn’t done it already. But either way, or maybe he won’t. Who knows? But you should sign up for be a supporters club because as you can see from all the wonderful DLS fans and our dieards. Oh yeah, even acid blasters out there with the SC saying that the avalanche lost. Easy to to see when you’re watching our show in supporters club. Why is Sam still talking on your computer? I think I’m a little far behind, so I could probably It doesn’t surprise me he’s still talking. He may still be talking. It was a lot. Uh let’s show the lineup real quick, Ryan, if we could before we get into Lud’s big penalty kill. So, as you see, Blackwell in for Bastion. Bastion earned himself a second game. Well, having having seven guys over for dinner, hopefully he was going to get in the lineup. It would be pretty pretty low not to have him in. Any uh strategically different things to have Blackwell in over Abassian? Obviously, the size is a big thing. Isn’t it funny though? The only thing I looked at this morning when I saw I didn’t see this when I saw something but but wasn’t Sam Steel up in the top line for the first 20ome games of the year. Now he’s down on the fourth line. Well, that that that is a player right there. And also because they really like the chemistry of that third line that backs and Bourke they they like that group. They’ve kept them together. Yeah, I know. But it is interesting that way, isn’t it? So So Blackwell and Forbassian, the defense is still the same. No changes that way as you see Kabo Biano and Kolia Chonik who just got his first Dow Stars goal the other night. He is in they’re both in the lineup and Jay Cottoner will start in goal but Luds the thing that stood out to me and I wanted to get your take on this is the Dallas Stars penalty kill because at the beginning of the year they were uncharacteristically bad especially at home where they’re operating this season at under 70%. I think is 68, which for a team that was for most of last year number one in the league. That’s really poor. Mostly the same personnel. You add Radic Foxa back in the lineup, his penalty killing is very strong. Ela Nazardine didn’t go anywhere even though Pete Dbor moved on. So your penalty kill coach is still there. And you’re wondering why first 15 games of the year overall this year home and road 70% the last nine they are 89.7 including five for five against the Kraken. Well, I think there’s little things and after our show the other night and we we talked about it, but it was 3:00 in the morning. So, when you guys asked what the difference was and I tried to explain it as much as we could at 2 in the morning and so I thought I’d just show you a couple examples. A couple turned into about 23. Let’s do it. But, but this you can there’s some sim similarities here what happened in the the stats that you’re talking about early on. Look at where the Stars players are. And yes, there’s you’re going to see four players in the frame a lot, but it’s about the space and and this one here. And we talked about Wyatt before. Wyatt likes to come out hard on that guy at the top. And ultimately, there’s a long chase back, but it’s that it’s the everything that’s in front of Jake. And there’s just a lot of space out here. And and then this particular play and this goal from Calgary, it created a lot of that space and time. And so, and here here again, chasing out to the point and it takes you a little bit of time. I was just showing this one. When the puck comes to the front of the net, instead of Essa going to the net to the puck here, he would start to drift away from him. But here’s that little square and there’s just way too much white ice and you shouldn’t see that when you’re killing a penalty and you got to be packed into the middle of the ice there. So that that was happening against the the uh the Calgary Flames and again got pictures of Wyatt chasing back. But, you know, then it becomes a little bit better when you start end up getting more guys and and some of the same thing showed up in the Vancouver game. But this one here, they end up getting on the outside. And here, this is Radic, who I think has done a hell of a job killing penalties, but he’s late when he’s chasing back to the net. Now, you got two of the players, and it’s your top guys chasing back into that dangerous area. But look at the again, Jake has got to make a save with somebody right in front of him. You got two defenseman that aren’t really doing a lot right here. or now there it’s a twoon two, but both of those forwards from Calgary have have the good ice and everybody the three of these guys are all chasing back the net and then they ultimately get there a little bit late and there’s a scramble in front and what you’ll see you know you can see it from this angle and you see it from the next one but there’s three of the guys in the white cheddar and the sweaters that are on the wrong side of the puck and there’s three guys that are in front of those white sweaters and that’s what Jake is looking at is that scramble that’s going on in front of him and so it ultimately ends up being a lot of the same things that we’ve been talking about back and forth. Now, if we can get to what happened in the last game against Seattle, you will see a bit of a change here where they’re starting to get all to the same area of the ice. Like again, now you got numbers. When pucks go around the wall, you got to be aggressive and they are. And so, they’re starting to be, but now you’re starting to look at where they are. Doesn’t look a lot different, but you’re not seeing anybody in the in those areas between these four guys. And so, this is the other thing. sticks on the ice. There’s so many players, especially young penalty killers, their sticks are up in the air. You never know when a puck is going to come flying through a a good area and it’ll hit your stick. Sometimes it’s going to go in net. I’m I I relate to that a lot. But but again, you can just see where where people are now starting to get where where the opponent has to go through you. Sticks are in passing lanes and guys are starting to be covered. You got three guys down low. What’s happening in front of the net? It’s a one-on-one in front. The other three guys make sure there’s nothing in the middle of the ice. Jake sees the shot and then the defenseman is available in order to just get that puck and just clear it down and he basically pushes somebody out of the way. Here’s another clear. I think it by Miro, but you can see now where the white sweaters are on the interior versus everybody in the dark sweaters in this particular one. The other thing is cutting the ice in half. So now before there’s not that space, you don’t see a lot of space here. And so what that does a lot of times it spreads the power play out because they see nothing in the middle. They spread themselves out. And like I always say, the biggest enemy is up there where it says Seattle power play a minute one and you’re fighting with the clock if you’re on the power play. So bottom line is they’re starting to get into the areas that they’re supposed to be in and they’re making it more difficult for passing lanes and they’re really making it they’re taking a lot of space away from the middle. but keeps them on the outside and it’s a little bit easier for Jake. And I I just like the way that they’re starting to get into lanes and they’re starting to get in the right areas of the ice as far as defenseman and they’re on the right side of the the other the opponent for the Utah uh I wanted to call them the Utah Kraken for a minute because we’re just call them the Grizzly. You’re looking at the Seattle Kraken right there, but Utah Mammoth Utah Grizzlies. Well, they still are. Yes. Um sad news this morning as they came out. Andre Tiny, their head coach, announcing that Clayton Keller’s father passed away unexpectedly overnight and that Keller still wants to play, wants to be with his teammates. Every player handles things differently. Obviously, I think if that brings him solace to play, good on him. But if a player said, “My dad passed away and I can’t play tonight,” I don’t think I’d hold it against him either. It’s it’s an incredibly sad thing, especially when it’s unexpected like that. But I would imagine it’s going to be a very emotional game for Utah. Yeah, I think it’s always the first couple shifts. I mean, we saw it last year in Winnipeg with Shley, right? And in the playoffs and I and I just think that again, I don’t like speaking for other sports, but I but I think that the hockey players when things like this happen, especially when it’s your father, it’s in honor of them that you’re going to you’re going to fight through it and you’re going to play and then the other the rest of the team rallies around them, especially being the captain and, you know, things like just think about the the father-son relationship. I I’m not going to speak for anyone in particular, but I would venture to say that a vast majority, if not all of the dads out there, if something happened to them, would want their son to play because they know that they love it. It brings them joy and that’s what they’re if especially if they’re in the NHL, they’re they were basically born to do that. Well, they’re they’re the ones that got you up at 4:00 in the morning, got you ready, and headed you out to the ice and you skated before school and all that kind of stuff. And um so yeah, and I I I just think that the these kind of things can go one of two ways obviously, you know, and but I but I think that especially, you know, when a player is the captain of the team, I can I can imagine he’s had a couple conversations with the group and said, “Hey, the best way to honor my dad is to win this hockey game tonight.” And so I I think you’re going to see a pretty good push uh from Utah tonight. All right. So speaking of Utah, their goalending, let’s take a look at their lineup real quick. Logan Kulie scored his first fourgoal game of his NHL career on Tuesday night against Vegas. Keep an eye on him and Gunther. That’s a very dynamic line. They are moving in the right direction because they used to only have Clayton Keller when they were still the Arizona Coyotes and not much else else. Now they have those. They add in JJ Purker in that group. Go to the defense. You can see Sergeev is their number one. They brought in Nate Schmidt who had won a cup with the Florida Panthers. They just got Derzy back although Ole was placed on IR. So that’s not good for them. And then Vamela and Vanichek. Now Vamela was the workhorse last year. They didn’t feel they had anyone else. Connor Ingram was in the player assistance program for a while. He’s since been traded to Edmonton. I’ve heard that there may be even the Oilers might be ready to give Ingram a shot in the net up there for the NHL club. But Vamela and Vanichek both have sub 900 save percentages. So I asked our buddy Petey down, you know, Steve Peters, who used to work for that organization for a really long time, and he said that they neither of the goalies have been fantastic. He said, “Vanichek has been okay.” He said, “Vamela has either been hot or cold.” We’ve heard that before. You know, pretty good, but then a tough one here or there. But listen to this, Les, you’ll get a I said, “Is it on the goalies to play better, or is there some team defending?” He goes, “Without question, it’s team defending. They struggle to defend the blue paint. They play a hybrid man-on-man. So, you will see their defenseman climb high in the zone, leaving their forwards to defend the front of the net. It has been a problem since Andre Tiny took over. And I go, I have to read that out loud for LS. Well, and and it explains like their their five on five goalending numbers. They’re 31st in the league, right? But when they’re short-handed, they’re they’re better than Dallas is. they’re like 14 or 12 or somewhere in there because when you got four guys out there, you generally play a little bit tighter in the five on five, especially when you play man-on man, you as defenseman, you start to wander. You don’t wander, you’re you’re instructed to follow that guy where it is. And so there just ends up being a lot of chaos in front of the net and people chasing back and when you ultimately have forwards that are playing in front of your goalender that don’t normally do it, you know, there there’s good areas that are left open. Let’s take a look at the goalie matchup tonight between Jakeer gets the net for the Dallas Stars. By the way, if Auter gets one more win, he’ll tie Eddie Belffor the third most wins as a Dallas star career, excuse me, career in the regular season. Luds, I know it’s not sparkling, but Jake has gotten his save percentage up to 90% whereas it was down in the upper eights for a while. He is five and one in the month of November. Strung together pretty some pretty good games. Obviously, that Vancouver game, he really stole things. I I I think it’s easier to live um like for Jake when you’re when you’re winning. You know, you might might not be playing well, but you don’t have to dwell on things as much and like that it cost you a game or cost you three games. I I just think that you’re able to buy yourself some time and and get your head into the game. And I I we know that Auter is full of confidence. And so, you know, I I heard him talk about it. You know, there’s been a couple games, but for the most part, I think I played fairly well. And I and I agree with that. And I think we’ve just talked about some of them gold little ones here and here. And I just want to say but when you speak about bleour and that the helmet and everything that Jake’s going to wear mask, you know, I sent that to Eddie this morning and just sent that little thing, you know, that there was some kind of video and stuff like that when Yeah. I sent that to Eddie this morning. I still haven’t heard back from Ed. I sent it to Dne who’s his son. He got back to me in 15 minutes. Bloods, it’s so cool. Ed Edward would love it. He always calls him Edward, but Edward would love this thing. And I’m thinking, well, why wouldn’t Edward at least respond to me and say, “Hey, thanks, Luds.” So, haven’t heard back from him yet, either. None of that surprises me, though. Lastly, uh, two things. One, Jason Robertson’s sevename goal streak and eightgame point streak was snapped in Seattle, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he got back on the the hopper tonight. But Miro Hkin and Luds will play his eighth or excuse me, his 500th regular season NHL game of his career tonight. He’s only the second player in the 2017 draft class to hit that. Nico Hehishir is the only one. Miro probably would have hit it last year if it hadn’t been for that long-term injury. But 500 games for Miro from 2017 till now. That’s no slouch. I would say about 475 of them has been questions about we thought this guy was going to be a Norris Trophy guy every year. Well, this year he is. You know, I would say right now. So, his time has come. His time is here now. It doesn’t seem like it’s been 500 though. I I seems fast, doesn’t it? It seems fast. I mean, he’s halfway to, you know, that that so-called milestone of a thousand. A big one. Well, Hasten and the Stars wearing their new 99 jerseys. We’ll be promptly displaying those in about 15 or 20 minutes. Still haven’t heard back from Brad Alberts. I thought it would be a good idea that we could promote the jersey on the day that it the emergency podcast we did, but apparently by everything being sold out in an hour or 45 minutes, he’s probably going, “Lwick, forget it. We don’t need your help.” You took the words out of my mouth. Based on the lines I saw today, I don’t think they needed the extra. Still don’t have that jersey. Well, it should be a fun one tonight. Stars and Mammoth. Two good teams in the Central Division. First of four meetings. And we will be here for the postgame show. Luds and I. And then of course Sam reporting from the AAC. And for our producer Ryan Vers, thanks for joining us. We’ll see you afterwards here on DLLS. Buy those shirts. Black Friday. Get them now. I believe that they are going to crush these guys tonight. [Music] [Applause] We all s like the mayor.

Following their four-game road trip through Western Canada and Seattle, the Dallas Stars return home to face the Utah Mammoth for the first time this season. In fact, it’s the first meeting between the two teams since the Mammoth officially unveiled their team name; they played the entire 2024-25 season as the “Utah Hockey Club.” Tonight will also be another first, as the Stars will wear their brand new ‘99 third jerseys for the first time. As far as the actual game, the Stars are on a four-game point streak (3-0-1, 7 pts., 0.875) and they have just two regulation losses in their last 18 games (12-2-4, 28 pts., 0.778). The Mammoth got off to a red-hot start to the 2025-26 season, going 8-2-0 (16 pts, 0.800) in the first 10 games. Since then, however, they have slowed down dramatically over their last 14 games (4-7-3, 11 pts., 0.393). It will be an emotional night for the Utah roster, as leading-scorer Clayton Keller will play in spite of the fact that his father unexpectedly passed away last night. On tonight’s DLLS Stars Pregame Show, we will discuss all the big storylines, we will take a look at the expected lineups, Sam will report live from the AAC and we will hear from players and coaches. Expected starting goaltenders: Jake Oettinger (DAL) vs. Karel Vejmelka (UTA).
