Game Highlights: Blues 4, Senators 3

[Applause] to watch his son play his son lined up with Pablo Navich. They dropped the puck to a little Angus Young and AC/DC. Here’s Piran throwing it forward. Walker took the wall high. He knocked it away. Sent it back to the Ottawa zone. It’s coming out again. Joseph intercepts. Gets it. Walker in on the far wing to Joseph. Deflected wide. Sunquist score. Baked it in off the back of the goalie. And Oscar Sunquist gives the Blues a one- nothing lead. 12:01 to play in the second period. Bottom six, five on five this past week and a half. And you bomb Robo Cam, you’re going to see the turnover that leads direct to offense by these four flying boys. Look at the transition. And look at Matthew Joseph throwing the puck at the net. And how about Oscar Sunquist from behind the net after the miss by Joseph right there. He sticks with it. He goes right off the backside. That is a purposeful shot in Pinto. Far wing. Bennington back to get a blocker on it. Another save. The rebound spun in and scored and Ottawa’s got the answer. Pinto puts it in for his 12th of the year. And we’re tied 1-1 halfway through the game. Brady Kachchuck guys stepping up in the right times throughout the season. Shane Pinto, like you mentioned, Curbs, that’s his 12th because he’s been doing this. Get to the front paint. Get to the blue paint. Get around the net. He gets the rebound right after Bington can’t handle that rebound. Rober’s going to get hit. The Chuck will play it rink wide. Sanderson skates it out. Gets the line. Throws on the break. You see the snow fly. That puck goes into the corner now to Zerland trying to go short side. He does. What a goal. Zetterland on a wraparound. Got the goalie moving and he gives the Senators a 2-1 lead. score many goals like this. There’s only one word for it. It’s deception. He’s behind the net. You’re going to see it. It looks like he’s going to come out to Bennington’s left and right at the very end, he’s going to stop and cut back. We’ll see one more look at it. A perfect look right here. Bennington’s going to look to his left. Looks like he’s going to come out to the left and then that quick little button up right there. That’s all he needed. Takes on the forehand. And within that grouping and man, they are playing like it. Alexi Torchenko in that group as well. A healthy scratch for the second consecutive game. Yeah, health certainly is not a issue right now for this Blues team. They got plenty of bodies. Avers to the front. Kyru score backhanded underneath Lamar. 22 early in the third as you see him pick up his head. He’s not even looking down the puck. Just a great presence. Goes take big booms from him. Not the biggest guy in the world, but he puts his face head first in every battle. Who’s created up by ice? Start a twoon-one. Shane Butch Navage and he scores. [Applause] [Music] Pavich has given the Blues for his first five on five goal of the season. This was a long time coming. A twoon one. What a pass from Braden Shen. Puts it right in his wheelhouse. Look at this pass. puts a little sprinkle on it right underneath and Pava Buch Navage a no doubter looking at him he’s pumped up pointing at Braden they got to be the bust they got to be the guys that go out there and grab things that they did but Navage now with points in four straight games look out in the middle Ottawa scores we’re tied 33 on an ugly giveaway out of the corner it starts right here in the neut zone faceoff so it goes Ed Dean. It’s a dump. Now this is a rim puck for Pico. A tough puck to pick up. He tries to bat it behind the net. Yep. I thought it hit the side of the net. It actually was Batson getting the stick back. Ottawa’s going to bring it to the near side. Bringing it in. Holloway shoots. Primo save. Loose puck and Holloway scores. [Applause] [Music] Holloway on the Holiday game. The Blues on top for three. Yeah, it was just such a bang bang play. Holloway is going to get the original shot. The rebound sitting there. Holloway’s there. Kessle’s there. You don’t see Matthew Kessle in and around the blue paint often, but there’s the juicy rebound. It’s a follow up by Sudter. Kessle misses on the original with an empty net. Holloway is going to get it. And Kessle on the second opportunity. Look at everyone right there. What a chaotic state. There’s a post involved there. You got 5 seconds to go. Thomas rims it around and is God is my witness. I thought turkeys could fly. Blues get the win tonight.

Oskar Sundqvist, Jordan Kyrou, Pavel Buchnevich and Matthew Kessel scored to lift the St. Louis Blues to a 4-3 win against the Ottawa Senators to begin a three-game homestand at Enterprise Center.

  1. Kerbs waiting all year before he could crowbar in the following classic line at the final horn:

Arthur Carlson, the station manager on the sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati, said the line "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly". The quote is from the iconic 1978 Thanksgiving episode called "Turkeys Away," where he is covered in feathers after a promotional stunt of dropping live turkeys from a helicopter goes disastrously wrong. The character was played by actor Gordon Jump.

But I digress! The Blues with a regulation win at home… see boys, 4 goals is much better than 2. See how that works?
And for Buchy, how do you say FINALLY in Russian?
    Окончательно!

Now just need about 15 more of these in a row and we're right back in it!
