Nick Sirianni On Loss to Chicago Bears
I know you told us during the week that you weren’t considering play callers, but now that you have 10 days between this game and the next one, is that something you’ll evaluate with that time? You know, we’ll evaluate obviously everything, but like I said to you guys, you know, when you win, when you lose, it’s never about one person. Um, we all collectively have to do a better job. And that’s going to be starting with us as coaches, starting with me as a coach finding solutions um to, you know, getting the the offense going. Um and so I’ll put that, you know, on us as a staff and put that on me most most individually um there to help get, you know, get this thing pointed in the right direction. But yeah, no, I still still stay with that. You can’t it’s the greatest team sport there is and and it’s never about one person. Um, we all have to look internally and all have to get better in coaches and players. 10 11. Yeah. If I wish I I could tell you this is this is exactly what it is. And this this is hard, you know, um, you know, it’s not it’s not easy um to, you know, to to be successful, stay stay successful. So we we have to f again um we have to do it collectively. We have to do it collectively as a unit. Like obviously if I knew exactly what it was and everything that it was then we’ we’d have fixed it. But right now, you know, we’re still we’re still searching and we’re still looking and um a lot of football left to play. Eight and four right now. A lot of football left to play. Um, and this weekend will be, you know, an opportunity for us to to find more answers and to figure things out as coaches, players being able to rest uh to to to gear up for this last this last stretch of what, five games left. Um, but obviously hasn’t been hasn’t been good enough um, coaching, playing and and we got to find answers. I never had a chance to watch from your initial reaction to the game. You guys, you know, um, again, I it was I felt like just the entire it was it was both units, offense, defense. Um, hats off to them. They they played a good game. They coached a good game, you know, they out coached us. They outplayed us. Um, and so that’s obviously something that I need to go through and watch the tape. um look through it. Um but to say, you know, I don’t want to, you know, again, they ran for however many yards, we didn’t run for many yards. Um um you know, we lost the turnover battle, we lost the explosive play battle. Um all those things are going to are going to uh dictate the win and loss. Typically, you pride yourself on having a very physical team. They ran for 281 today. What is what is the disconnect that you think happened there? Yeah. Um, again, have to have to look at it. Um, they did they they did a really good job of, you know, kind of how they attacked and, you know, executing it. Um, hats off to them. Um, but, you know, obviously we’ve won a lot of football games, you know, being on the other end of that. And so, we just got to get back to to playing and coaching equals football. Can you take us through the end of the first half there? You let like 30 seconds or so run run off the clock to the two-minute warning. Normally we see you pushing pushing for points. What? We were still pushing for points. Um uh we were still pushing for points. Um you know we had three timeouts ball at the 30 whatever 38. We had plenty of time to go and score a touchdown and and be the last ones with the football. Um so you know we got the one yard on the on the completion with 237 or whatever. Um and then took it to the two-minute warning. Um and we were going on the ball after that. That seems uncharacteristic of you to No, no, we we would play that. That’s that was pretty, you know, that that’s that’s normal to how we would play that with the end of a half, but we were still, you know, again, when we got back to um you know, getting getting it off a second down on the two-minute warning, we would have been on the ball there and gone. If I could ask you um just to clarify what you said earlier about evaluating everything. So, does that mean you are evaluating like changing the play card? No, we’re not. We’re not changing the play caller. We’re eval but we will evaluate everything. Um and that’s with this weekend. We’ll have another little mini buy and I think that’s the you know another short week or you know another short week that leads to a long weekend where we’ll evaluate everything. But again like I said after that um it’s never just about one person. All right. You can’t you win as a team, you lose as a team and you try to evaluate everything um win, lose or draw and and get better from it. What’s been doing to give you that confidence? Yeah. Again, I just I have confidence in the entire group. Again, I know it will keep coming back to Kevin. Um but again, if I thought it was one thing, then you make those changes. Obviously, it’s a it’s a lot of different things. Um but I yeah I don’t I don’t think it is the you know Kevin um now we all have a part of it. Kevin has a part of it. I have a part of it. Co uh all the coaches have a part of it. All the players have a part of it. Again it is again you win and lose as a team. It’s never on one thing. Had 13 carries, 34 passes for Jaylen on a windy night. Is that just a a game flow thing? Yeah. And then also how you you know how the game goes at the end where you’re trying to to get back in the game. We obviously had a lot of throws there uh at the end. I thought early on we had some we had some good runs. We didn’t have a ton of plays in the first half, but early on we had some good runs, but I think you can chalk that up. Again, you know, we want to be balanced um with how we attack, but we’ll do whatever we need to do to try to win each and every game. Obviously, we didn’t tonight, but I think a little bit of that was, you know, some of the two-minute stuff that we had uh there at the end of the game. Is there a plan? Is there a plan to get into to tank at some point? He obviously had that one really big game and he has not uh seen the field as much as Yeah, he’s still he’s still always going to be the guy that comes in for Saquon and like I said, you know, we want to get Saquon more than 13 carries also. Um but you know, we have a lot of confidence in him when he goes into the football game to to make plays. Um and we’ll continue to roll uh the way we are rolling with it. And um but yeah, he when he goes in, he’s he’s he’s had some really good plays. Um, but yeah, we’ll continue to roll. We want to make sure we get Saquon the football because we know how explosive he can be when he has the football. The biggest issues with the run defense tonight. I’m sorry. The biggest issues with the run defense? Yeah. Again, it’s again, it’s it’s a lot of different things. So, you’re going to you’re going to look and say, first of all, did we did we do the things we needed to do as coaches to to help put them in positions? And then it’s going to be about block destruction, tackling, um, you know, getting how we get off the blocks, how we tackle. Um, you’ll have to look at that. uh felt like we, you know, uh Swift had a couple um um opportunities or had a couple plays that he got some extra yards with uh some yards after making making some some guys miss. He’s an electric back. Um but again, it was I’ll have to look at exactly what all of it that went down, but I know that when you’re giving up that many yards, again, it’s everybody has a hand in that. So, um, you know, how we, you know, with where we are as far as, you know, how we where we’re putting guys on defense, but then also how we block destruct and how we, you know, take on blocks and how we um and how we tackle. There’s a couple more factors of blocking block destruction and those I’m sure there’s schematic parts of that, but in correcting, it seems like there might be a motivational an effort part of that toughness on your on how you get that across. How do you go about correcting that? Yeah, you know, I I see our guys playing with extreme extreme effort. Um that’s something we talk about a lot. We look at a lot. We chart our loafs. Um and our guys, you know, I I know I’ve seen for the past um what are we on 12 games or 11 games, extreme effort. So I I’m never going to question that because I’ they’ve they’ve proven it to me over and over and over again how how hard they play for each other. Um so I don’t I don’t think at all it was an effort thing. John Hers’s performance. Yeah, again, we just the the as an offense as a whole. Um, obviously we weren’t good enough as an offense as a whole. Um, coaching, playing everything. Um, obviously go back, look at everything. Um, but I thought he made some some good plays, had some good scrambles, had some good things um that he did and he’s going to want just like all of us, he had some plays that he’ll want back and have and he had some really good plays. Um, but again, we just weren’t consistent enough as a whole. to go down nine in scoring to go down nine. What’s the thinking between the two-point conversion, the first touchdown, and then the potential second touchdown? Yeah. Um, obviously, we had to get one at one point. Um, we had to get a two-point conversion at one point. Um, I’ve done a lot of studies on that um in my notes, you know, down nine. I’m always going to go for uh two in that scenario. So I felt I followed the plan that you know again I don’t I don’t try to take anything for I don’t try to wing anything in situational football. Um that’s what I wanted to do. Um that’s in my notes from uh my studies in the past and and that’s what we did. Now the thought behind it is you know at least you know you want to know exactly um what you need right there. Um as far as you know if you go down seven then obviously it’s a one-sore game. If you go down eight, I know it’s a one-sore game as well. Um, but yeah, that’s that’s just the that’s what we do in that in that scenario. I’ll always go back and and look and re reconsider reconsider things. Um, you know, had three timeouts there uh to be able to to potentially kick it deep there if if we did get, you know, if we did get it. Obviously, we didn’t in that particular case, but at some point, you’re going to need it. And I always want to know early what I need uh going forward. All right. Thank you, Coach. Thanks, everybody. Just like

OMG this is déjà vu, Nick. Same questions, same answers from 2 years ago. Is this growth, Nick?!?!? WHERE IS THE GROWTH? We are right back to this BS…
🦅🤬🦅🤬🦅
When does this better job start being applied because I haven't seen one change for the better.
I have to look at it 😂 Best believe we were actually watching the whole way.
This OC only starts calling plays when they’re down scores with 4min left. Zero creativity. The run plays called this game where pathetic.
How about giving bears oline some credit? They keep getting better each week.brown is a beast…
The OC has been ass all season. This team isn’t winning games because of him. They’re winning games despite him.
“We’re evaluating everything.”“We’re not changing the play caller.” WTF are you saying?
Lol this dude says the same stupid stuff all the time.
So basically nothing is changing even though the offense leads the league in 3 and outs? 🤦🏾♂️👎🏾
The talk after Two more weeks of this , Nick will be on the Hot Seat ..
Nick won’t be around too much longer
When's the last time this man has taken a drug test he always looks high on coke or meth
Sirianni will always go down with his ship, if they are going to turn it around, it will be next year, but it's a "lame duck" season, wholesale changes will happen, but not until next year, and that might include the head coach, the Eagles had no problem firing Doug Pederson after winning a SB and one year removed from winning it all. Whatever happens, the Eagles will act fast, but they will play out this season with the "lost boys":(
THIS DUDE SHOULD'VE BEEN GONE A LONG TIME AGO……
IM SICK OF HIS VOICE IM SICK OF HIS FACE…..THIS NOT A GOOD HEAD COACH!!!
Bye
I hope we see the bears again
Offensive coordinator needs to go good grief and its same old rcap we got to be better that's all we hear and its bnot happening defense was terrible was like Swiss cheese tonight
Same old stupid handoffs into a brick wall whole team is out of sync
We can’t play offense so defensively. We need an attack offense this soft shit look bad on the team and the staff not telling the truth got everybody blame Hurts. He had a bad game but the shit keep piling up every week
That was hard to watch…I actually feel bad for Nick. He needs some help he's not getting.
If Howie so good, why isn’t he stepping in. Are they really going to waste a year like this. Kevin clearly needs some help.
Nick you better be shaven next week. Do you hear the chants in the stadium? KP is cheeks. Offload and restart. Nobody wants to watch this dumpster fire anymore.
BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Clearly you need to do a better job!🙄 tell us something we DONT know!
When he keeps saying how we" thats howies stuck in his head hes worried
Cry Eagles Cry.😢😢😢😢😢😢
Same fucking song and dance week in and week out. Find a fucking solution already. Stop talkin!
Kevin patullo and siriani are best friends outside of football. That’s why he refuses to fire him
“We’re not changing the play caller” dude I need friends like Siriani, void every logical argument that KP is inadequate yet he doesn’t even slightly acknowledge how basic his play calling is. The one player from Chicago even said how easy it was to prep for our offense 🎉
Never seen a coach like throwing his players under the bus instead of the coach we clearly all can see
Siriani doesn’t realize he’s risking his job by not wanting to fire his bestie
This is pathetic already. The obvious answer is KP because that’s the difference. This offense is disgusting. Almost like they are playing afraid
BLAH BLAH BLAH Same old shit
Let's remember we are defending Superbowl champions! Yes, we are struggling and I put so much of it on the difference in how our offensive line is playing. It all starts with them. I also think uncharacteristic turnovers have been a difference as well and we just are not playing to our standard. I refuse to panic and have to be confident the team knows they need to improve and winning is the primary goal. We have to stick with our team and be confident they will do what it takes.
at this point the league feels rigged to not let a team go back to back division titles in the NFCE. 20 years, the probability of that is absolutely insane and i'm convinced there's something going on behind the scenes to make that happen.
What notes tell you to go for two down 9? Not getting the conversion means you need two scores to win instead of one to tie! Makes no sense.
He doesn't wanna say kevin poot show n keep putting on him. It's not the defense it's the offensive coordinator kevin poot show, get kellen moore back please please. It's obvious what needs to be done n stop saying the same thing every press conference , this has to be a script he's reading from because its the same thing every time. Eagles are way better than this but not even playing 75% there potential.
Cowboys took their soul, let the collapse begin
This what Bill Belichick meant when he said football doesn’t start until thanksgiving. The cowboys and bears looked a little iffy to start the season and they’re hitting their stride when it matters.
Im not even an eagles fan, and even I can see how badly the OC is screwing this team. AJ is not wrong to complain. Why does he have 11 yards in the first half and then 120 and 2 touchdowns in the second half? Why wait until you’re losing to start using your best weapons?
FIRE KEVIN PATULLO. HE ISNT GOOD
Let’s just “evaluate” from a man who doesn’t make millions of dollars, this team has NO HEART. NO FIGHT. NO RESILIENCE. The sorry excuses from Nick this year is inexcusable. The talent this team has to not correct the mistakes and execution of the whole team as a WHOLE. Offense, defense, special teams has to take a big look at themselves in the mirror and realize not ONE single person is to blame. It’s a collective effort as a whole. Or lack there of ….
Philadelphia is a city based of truth and hardworking blue collar fans who “BOO” when they see the effort and know how good of a team they are, and they constantly continue to be a NO SHOW!!!!
Again I don’t make millions but it doesn’t take rocket science to know, something needs to change. Not just say words like “reevaluate” and move on . Go birds!
"We have to find answers" – it starts with stopping what's not working. Trying new looks, really using the route tree, but all of this is predicated on success in the trenches, and right now the offensive line is not good enough to do what they were doing last year. No Lane is a huge problem on the right side.
