Yves Missi on win over Bulls, rebounding | New Orleans Pelicans

Eve, I think you mentioned this yesterday, just how you were sick for a little while, so you’re really feeling like yourself now. Like what was the difference in your game yesterday? Uh, I would say intensity, energy, uh, just going after every rebound, uh, talking defense, just bring that energy that we needed. That’s the main thing for me, especially on the offensive boards. Like, were you looking for something different? No, I feel like I always I always been a good offensive rebounder. Uh but I mean yesterday I just I probably the best game I had on offensive glass but uh I feel like the focus for me is more defensive glass. Uh I don’t know how many I got yesterday but probably four or five. So need to improve on that end but yeah just going after that was the main goal for me. What do you think that the biggest difference has been since JB has taken over kind of his message to you guys? Uh I would say he kind of told everyone uh what he needs us what he needs from us. for the team uh what he can bring to the team. I mean I think a few days ago he asked us to just think about during the weekend and then come back on Monday and then just everyone had to share what he can bring to the table and I feel like those are some of the things that really help like everyone know what he’s supposed to do and I feel like that’s how winning team works most of the time. How good was it for him last night? Great. That was my first one of the season. I was sick both time so that was my first one. I was happy about it. It feels like we’re seeing more reactions out of you after like certain plays where it’s after a block like a nice dunk over somebody. Do you feel like you’re getting more comfortable in your skin basically out there on the court? Uh yeah. I mean DJ always tell me need more reaction from me but yeah I mean I guess that’s just my personality but yeah just being energy is the main goal. He just wants you to I guess show more fire. That is that what you’re saying? Yeah. He want me to scream on people and I would get ejected so I ain’t sure to do all that. So, yeah, for sure. You mentioned your energy. What do you think about the team energy overall? Like defensively, it seemed like you guys were really disruptive. Yeah, I feel like yesterday everyone was on the same page on defense. We make some mistake, but yeah, there’s still room to improve, but I feel like the communication was great. Uh, even in offense and the ball movement. I still had like eight guys in double figures, so it just a step to the right direction. How much how much do you feel like you and Jose really develop the chemistry in those pick and roll situations where you can get down here either throw the field or throw the live TV? Uh good. I mean I kind of know where you want to go and then the moment. So we just talk about in the court and then we just everything else. What have you been able to pick up from from DJ on the bench? I know he’s been a bet presence for you DQ and others. Just what have you been able to pick up from him? A lot. Uh he’s very vocal. Very vocal guy. always talk to us at timeouts or even whenever you know in the game always give us some advice like you see from the game and uh he’s really helpful very helpful you really feel like you’re picking up stuff as each game goes along Brand uh Trey talked a little bit after the last game a lot of people only played basketball for six years you still feel yourself getting a little bit more every game because it feels like you’re taking steps every time yeah for sure definitely I mean the more you play the more you get used to it so yeah for
